NFL (since 2016)
"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"One thing that I did notice in the Jets' game was that the Bengals, not having seen Mike White before, kept defending deep like they were protecting the ball over the top. White threw the shortage average depth for completions this season. On average, his receivers were standing five yards from him! The yards after catch were off the charts, and that's how the game was won - because the OC plotted to help his backup QB. I'm with Chris Simms on this: if the Jets spent more time planning to help Wilson in the same way, instead of just expecting a #2 draft pick to be able to throw lasers into double-coverage, then they would have won more games. It looks like the OC spent more time planning to help the back-up with a better play-book than he does with the more talented Wilson - who he just expects to be great off the bat (which is rarely the case)."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Some hilarious local reactions to the Jets' comeback win against the Bengals - including many people in Gotham having a meltdown over the QB situation. Lots of hysterical over-reactions to the idea that golden boy Zach might not be an automatic choice when he returns. We'll see, of course: it was one game and we got a bit lucky when the stray cats made some dubious play calls while leading. Mike White's first start couldn't have gone better, and he's guaranteed to start the next three games, too. If he wins more than he loses, I don't see the problem here - you pick the guy who's winning. Wilson could probably benefit from sitting and learning from the sidelines a little anyway, in the way that even high-draft QBs of the past did. He has no choice at the moment, due to his knee knack, so we'll see how he responds when he's back. Frankly, I couldn't care less if we're paying our starting QB $50m or $5. The NFL is all about winning. especially when you've barely troubled the scorers for ten years."

"Who the fuck are these people ""òpresenting' on channel 5? They are so bad it's like they've called in two people off the street."
Re: NFL (since 2016)
"I love watching a proper Henry trample fest. He has a rare combination of size, speed and agility. I might have been early this season or late last when he was breaking on the outside and cut in deliberately to stiff arm a safety on his arse. It must be demoralising for the opposition defence when he is on a big day."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
Sheesh Burns...are the Broncos tight on the salary cap or something? Or is this just a refresh involving a clear out of older players on big deals? Two Day 2s might be OK if they are early enough picks and you free up big salary space.

Re: NFL (since 2016)
Disappointing to hear that about Henry. I do like watching him drag about five opponents 20 yards every few carries. The guy is a beast.

"Rams are all in on this year. They only have 3 draft picks left for next years draft. A 3rd, 5th and 7th rounder""¶. 3rd is a compensatory pick so it is at the end of the 3rd. That will come back to bite them in the ars! Miller is old and expensive, bad move really! Good news for the Niners!"

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"What?! That's fucking nuts. Unless it's to avoid the loyalty/roster payment if he's still there in Jan/Feb. There's probably a similar figure due then, too, which maybe the Rams will pick up? Otherwise, that makes absolutely no sense."
Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Broncos are paying $9 million of Miler's remaining $9.7 million salary."

"The rams must be close to busting the salary cap, surely? Some huge contracts flying around that place."

"TM - your kicker's name is a headline writer's dream! Bit of a brutal weekend for injuries - including fears that the best running back in the league has a broken foot. Henry is having a scan later today. Vikes lost Hunter to another injury, Saints lose Winston at QB to a 'significant' injury. You know the season is in full swing when the injuries start to pile up. Our O-line is just a patch-up, not that anybody would know because the rest of our game is so poor generally!"

"West Ham cowboy doubles are becoming the norm and both looking pretty unstoppable. To win like that without Dak and all the other players that are out definitely starts giving me the feeling they have everything, defence were immense yesterday""¶.obviously down to the new West Ham coaching staffüòè"
