"And I don't care what Rufus Thomas, Stones and Who fans say, Feelgood's version of Walking the Dog is the boss."

cheeses cruyf 6:25 Tue Oct 2 Down By The Jetty is a good album...the sound quality on the copy I currently have is a bit ropey though...not just mine either by many accounts!

Re: What if anything are you listening to now?
i think that is the case yes. I think there would have been a sound argument for keeping it instrumental

"Debs - iirc Weller wrote the music and White the original lyrics. The single, 'Have You Ever Had It Blue' was just Weller"

SurfaceAgentX2Zero 6:00 Tue Oct 2 You're right about the stand up comics instructions...that didn't belong... The last one was bad...being kind many said they were trying to anticipate Acid Jazz... I reckon they were trying to get out of the contract with Polydor by releasing something so awful that would do the job!

Re: What if anything are you listening to now?
Weller knew the lyrics were cunty so re-wrote them and stole White's royalties. The cսnt.

"Didnt they change the lyrics to With Everything To Lose so that it would fit better with the film.it was being used for? Lyrics aside, lovely bit of musicianship on that song."

Re: What if anything are you listening to now?
"It is good overall, but 'With Everything to Lose' is so cunty they had to rewrite the lyrics for the single and 'The Stand Up Comedian's Instructions' is even cuntier, featuring, as a does, a particularly cunty vocal from Lenny 'the Cun't Henry. Cost of Loving is just beyond cunty, being a total cunt-fest of cunt-like proportions.. The last two are just shit."

Re: What if anything are you listening to now?
Cafe Bleu is better than 'Our Favourite Shop' and 'Introducing...' is better than both. There are signs of impending cuntiness on OFS.

Re: What if anything are you listening to now?
Darlo Debs 5:30 Tue Oct 2 The initial EP and first two albums were quality...but Polydor were terrible for pushing artists to churn out product... I think that The Cost of Loving was rushed and the 3-4 good songs would have worked better with the 5-6 good ones from Confessions... So a potentially stunning album was in bits and pieces over two releases. Shame really ;-)
