"DiCaniosLefty I agree about Gangland. it is crap. so was Invaders and The Prisoner imo. That's why I think the album is not as great as its generally acclaimed to be. Children of the Damned is a great song. of course they covered a similar sound on Revelations on Piece of Mind, glad to hear you are impressed by Total Eclipse. Maiden did do some great b sides in the 80s. Reach Out, Kings of Twilight, Cross Eyed Mary and Rainbow's Gold were also excellent b sides."

"dm Thanks for that, I had never heard Total Eclipse before until just now. Ripping track and would have been a better choice for the album than Gangland which is probably the weakest song on the album."

"DiCanios Lefty. Hallowed be Thy Name is a great track. I do think Number of the Beast is an overrated patchy album but there are some gems on it, such as Children of the Damned, Run to the Hills and antother gem is Total Eclipse which was originally the b side of Run to the Hills, but has subsequently been placed on to album when it was remastered"

"Willtell 1:11 Thu Jan 3 I like to work through from longest to shortest track. So it starts with Thick as a Brick by Jethro Tull, a not for the hasty, 43m 28s, and ends with Westron Wynde by Steeleye Span, a stick a cotton bud in your lug-hole and you've missed it, 27s. In passing, if you want exactly 2m 0s of absolute pop/rock perfection, I recommend My Way of Giving by the Small Faces. If your attention span lasts 19s longer, try Fortunate Son, by Creedence. Pure fucking joyous anger and not a single second wasted. I once went through a phase of refusing to listen to anything longer than 2m 30s on the basis that if you can't get it done in 2 1/2 minutes it's not worth me waiting for. Harsh but fair, I thought at the time."
