"SurfaceAgent Think we will have to agree to disagree on that I am of the opinion that for the last 20 years or so we have been living in an absolute golden age of great progressive rock. And there is every sign that this is going to continue. In every issue of PROG I see articles or reviews that lead me to check out new albums. And on the free CDs that comes with every issue there is always something interesting on. Its just that apart from the odd artist such as Steven Wilson, none of it gets anywhere near the mainstream."

"Bit rash to assume everyone sticks to one genre or era? Just listened again to Chvrches: Hansa Session.. Great music, the string arrangements would be something Robert Kirby (for Nick Drake) would be proud of. Shall I turn myself in as an emo teengirl? All the rest of you are welcome to your wibbling prog/metal."

Woden I probably listen to music from 2001 onwards more than I listen to anything from last century. In fact right now i'm listening to The Cold Light of Darkness by Trinity which was released in 2001

Re: What if anything are you listening to now?
I just wondered but does anyone here actually listen to anything in the 21st Century?
Re: What if anything are you listening to now?
"Mike Patton, Chris Cornell and Corey Taylor and my favourites. For sheer range of guttural growls to note perfect tenor Devin Townsend is astounding. He doesn't consider himself a proper singer either."
