"Debs sorry I missed your subtlety there then. Clearly I don't do subtle! It did get me thinking though. I think I'm just conditioned by people looking down on my musical leanings as if they're some kind of joke. As for the Arctics, my favourite album of theirs is Favourite Worst Nightmare. Absolute belter of an album, that. I didn't mind AM and agree Do I Wanna Know is brilliant but if I play their stuff it's usually from FWN. I have never ever managed to get into anything produced by Damon Albarn, however. Someone mentioning Britpop has now lead me on to... Mansun - Wide Open Space followed by Super Furry Animals - Hometown Unicorn"

"I saw the Arctic Monkeys at Glastonbury 2007 and they were superb (I hadn't really listened to them before that). I still prefer 'Fluorescent Adolescent' although I agree about 'Do I wanna know' I've found myself listening to Brit Pop lately, mainly Blur, Pulp and Sleeper. Must be trying to relive my youth!"

White Pony I agree with what you say. Its best to be honest with yourself and others about what you like and dont like. At my school there was a lot of people who seemed strongly of the opinion that it was a bad thing to like artists from different genres. They called it 'posing' I thought that was a load of bollocks. Still do. People like what they like. Regardless of what different genres the artists they like may be consideref to be.
