"It's a very pleasant afternoon here in Muscat; clear blue sky and the meerest hint of a breeze off the mountains. No need for A.C, all the windows open and at the moment some very jazz early Peggy Lee. All that's missing is a glass or two of nicely chilled dry white wine."

MMG I think you can still stream it for another 72 hours. It cost $20 but to be honest I was happy to pay it. They're one of the best live bands around. They played mainly material from All Our Gods and Holy Hell and then 2 or 3 from the new album. Sounds like it's gonna be a belter!

"Nick Cave's Idiot Prayer live at Ally Pally. Saw it ""òlive' back in the summer (feels an age ago now) but have subsequently listened to it at least twice since and it gets better and better each time."

Mental isn't it but I suppose not surprising. More culture being diluted. Fantastic song in it's original form.

"Far Cough 2:59 Thu Nov 19 Why we can't have nice things. Was thinking are starting a thread about it. If you are going to ban a Christmas song, start with that Paul McCartney one. Sorry to anybody that might have good memories of it, it is just repetitive garbage that plays in stores when I have waited too long to buy my gifts, for me at least."

"BBC Radio 1 will not play the original version of Fairytale of New York by The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl this Christmas, because its audience may be offended by some of the lyrics. Woke cunts World's going to hell in a handbasket"

Alex Bunbury 12:45 Thu Nov 19 Saw that story too. Listened to original - have a great holiday memory from it. Took me to Joe Strummer through the Pogues and one of my favourite songs by him. Ramshackle Day Parade
