DiCanio's Lefty I did like some of the stuff on Fear of the Dark and I agree with you about Book of Souls having some good stuff. TBH its probably more to do with my tastes drifting away from heavy rock. I really like Somewhere in Time as it feels like they were really trying to push the envelope when they did that one.

"Yngwies cat TBH I was giving A Matter of Life and Death 'one final chance' if you know what I mean, to see if I could get into it. It has always just seemed an Iron Maiden by numbers album to me and I still can't get into it, so I'm not going to try again. I still think their last great album was Somewhere in Time."
