Re: Moyes Out
"Sit back and counterattack doesn't work anymore. Moyes isn't the right person to turn this around, nor to get the best outmof squad. Thanks Moyes, you made a difference and brought back some pride, but it's time to part."
Re: Moyes Out
If you reckon 6 wins out of 6 against League One level European opposition is reason not to get rid of him then you're an idiot He's done

"No progress since middle of last season. Backwards, sideways and dire football. He cant take us any further. Thanks and goodbye."

"""Tweaks""? We're getting worse by the game. Time for a change if we had any ambition at all!"
Re: Moyes Out
Thanks Moyes but time for you to go. While your packing up your shit can you please take Soucek and Antonio with you. Fed up with watching that negative turgid shit.
Re: Moyes Out
it is a hard watch at the moment - i dont expect anything else vs Palace either. massively frustrating as well. sometimes teams go through these 'transitions' and personally i think that's where we are. we had 18 months success playing a certain way but then teams wised up to us and we havent quite learned how to counter that. Aguerd and Paqueta should help move things along in time.

Re: Moyes Out
It could be that people expressed their opinion and left the thread because the decision to sack a manager or the opinion of fans about sacking a manager don't (or shouldn't) change day to day.

"Zico""¶ Typical misuse of players by Moyes with Soucek""¶ Same as his misuse of Vlasic..Haller et Al""¶ Dinosaur Manager""¶"
Re: Moyes Out
Agree with much of what u say about Soucek but for me he is one if not the slowest central midfielder in the league and same goes for technique. Again one of the worst central midfield players in the Premiership for control and passing. He would not make the first 11 of the top 8 and possibly lower teams IMO. Even his tracking back is hampered by being one if not the slowest players in the Premiership especially over the first 5 yards and the game is so quick he is left chasing shadows at times. He's good in a 50:50 or would have been 10 or 20 years back due to his strength and size but those players aren't featuring in most teams now because a slight mistiming or just hard tackle becomes a yellow or red due to modern gamesmanship and theatrics. He's good in the air defensively and why in all tge stats that is where we excel. Only team not to concede from a corner or free kick. Or certainly the lowest number apparently. Moyes is stuck in a time warp 20 years ago ( cue for a song and horrific visual of Moyes as main character in the Rocky Horror Show - *** shudders *** )

Re: Moyes Out
"Thinking back to my playing days I can completely see how much I would value Soucek in my team. I wasn't physically big so having players around you that did alot of tracking and shutting down, getting stuck in, winning defensive headers in your box and being a danger from your own set-pieces and corners. It is invaluable in football terms. The two issues I currently have with Soucek is, firstly, he slows us down offensively. When he was scoring for fun we played on the break and out wide. Soucek had that canny ability to arrive at the right time and get on the end of crosses and cut backs. Now, we don't seem to be doing that. We don't break quick enough and don't go out wide enough and when we do we have full backs that can't cross a road. So we seem to me going more central. Because we don;t break with pace we get out wide and the ball eventually comes inside to Rice. This kind of eliminates any offensive threat Soucek has as he really doesn't have an option of where to go. And he doesn't have the ability to pick the ball up on edge of box and make something happen. Secondly, with Paqueta now in, we are going more central and so when the ball comes into Soucek he doesn;t move it quick enough or with enough directness for it to be offensively dangerous. Again, slowing us down or giving it away. So, for me, its a choice of do you lose all of the running and good defensive work Soucek does do to help us offensively as a whole team. I made my mind a month or so ago that the way things have gone I would replace him. And he should be replaced by Downes who gets around quicker and is much more adept at picking a pass and moving the ball quicker and with more composure. I do defend Soucek. This isn't his faulty imo. He's a victim of how the team has organically evolved. I say organically because as with everything with Moyes its not by design. But, as we all know, we have a manager that is resistant to evolution - Either organic or designed. And so here we are again with him not performing for whatever reason and being left in the team. Because Moyes cannot see past his defensive attributes because Moyes is naturally defensive minded. Soucek's drop off in form and value to the team is simply down to Moyes. He's allowed the evolution but has not reacted to it. And he won;t either. That's his acchilles heel."
