"yep, but his last year was every bit as disastrous as Moyes' last year here. Bit harsh to complain about Moyes being shit for a year and not acknowledge that Pochettino was just as shit in his last year. Personally, I'm largely ambivalent to him - won't be disappointed but wouldn't be excited if he comes. More than anything, just trying to dispel the idea that he's out of our reach. He really isn't."

"Moyes kept us up when we were looking like certain relegation, had two excellent seasons just falling away from the Champions league spot and a semifinal European run. Unbeaten in Europe this season. Lose to Palace yesterday, sack the manager, yes okay. I remember fans wanting Redknapp out after a sticky patch, what did we end up with, Roeder and relegation two seasons later."

"""and look more closely at what he did at Tottenham"" I have. - 0 trophies - worst record against other 'big 6' clubs - won 4 of 13 against Arsenal (who were almost exclusively shit) - during calendar year 2019 when he was sacked, no Premier League club lost more games than Spurs (18) - 25 points from last 24 games (for reference, Unai EMERY took 10 points more at Arsenal) - No away win from January 2019 to November 2019 - 14 points from 12 games when sacked (same as Moyes had after 12 games) while the above is probably an unduly harsh review, its all factually correct and is the most recent year of his time in England, and coupled with a poor time in Paris, he's a million miles away from being a 'big name' or an unachievable target. His recent record isn't all that, and he needs us just as much as we need him at this point in his career. Away from STATS, he benefited hugely at Spurs from what Tim SHERWOOD did with Kane. Everyone else at the club wanted him sold (for £1.5M from memory) but Sherwood was the one who gave him his chance and kept him there."

Looks like the present Southampton Manager might become available so there is another name to throw in the hat.

"Justin P 10:47 Mon Nov 7 Pochettino never got a league and cup double. He got one in each season at PSG, and we all know that winning the league is the very least that a club like PSG expects. There's a reason he got sacked after 18 months. His 65% win ratio was well below his predecessor Tuchel's 75%. His successor is currently on 81%. Clearly he'd be an improvement on Moyes but he's well over rated by some on here."

If we had owners that were realistically determined and ambitious then they would be making Poch and Tuchel offers they can't refuse today.

"If we as a club don't attract Pochettino or even a European manager in a job at the minute who's doing wonders at the team, for example the union Berlin manager, if we couldn't attract those then I'd stick with Moyes. Absolutely no point what so ever sacking him to get Sean Fucking Dyche or Scott Parker. Fuck right off with those suggestions."

"stewie griffin 9:59 Mon Nov 7 100%. We need someone to get us up the league and be in and around the CL spots. Exactly what he did with Spurs. I realise that Spurs were a step up from Soton and we are a step down from PSG obviously. But I always recall Poch talking about staying for the Spurs project when he was being touted around all Europe's biggest clubs. So why would he not fancy the same with us? He is the best available so why shouldn't we aim high? We need new life, energy and innovative modern ideas. Moyes has gone stale and needs to go imo."

"He didnt win the league in his first French season did he? To me losing a single league match with Messi , Neymar & MBappe amongst others is a FAILURE Wrong club for him. And probably ANY manager with those egos"

"Justin P 10:47 Mon Nov 7 Re: Moyes Out he failed to win the league in his first season, which is just about the biggest failure imaginable given their relative strength, and he got knocked out in the first knockout round of the Champions League the following year. He also managed to get a grand total of 6 league goals out of Lionel MESSI, which is pretty much unfathomable. They hated him there, and he hated them. No matter necessarily, if he'd been any good there he wouldn't be available now, but trying to paint his time in Paris as a success is frankly bizarre"

"stewie griffin 9:59 Mon Nov 7 Re: Moyes Out Not sure why people think pochettino is unrealistic. His time in Paris was a failure, and his last 25 games at spurs yielded 24 points - not dissimilar to moyes here I suspect. Yes a league and cup double is a failure?!!"

Such desperate times that I actually agree with Eerie Why not Pochettino? Villa have just appointed Unai Emery & Wolves the former Real & Spain manager Lopetegui and people are talking about Scott Parker or Mark No(experience)ble FMOB

"Scott Parker, keep Nevin (on what basis?) Thomas Frank. Fuck me, we might as well stick with Moyes. We're a PL club with a realistic chance of winning a European competition this season with the right manager, 60k stadium, bang in London, with England's future captain, Brazil's no.8, and Italy's first choice striker to play with, 3rd highest spenders on the planet in the summer. Pochettino would take the job in a heartbeat. There's so much potential, and it's being completely ruined at the moment by a man so stubborn, so old school, so tactically inept."

"diehardhammer 9:17 Mon Nov 7 Re: Moyes Out Why do our fans have this weird notion West Ham could get poch and tuchel I would see West Ham as the perfect opportunity right now to manage for either Poch or Tuchel. World Class players Last 16 in a Europe Comp with a good chance of going far in that competition Salary would be ok, we paid Pellegrini 8 million a year , Spurs were paying Poch 8.5 million per year, I don't think that would be a problem. London Based Big stadium/crowds etc Don't think it would be a problem at all"
