Moyes Out ( Released )
"Posted the same last year. Nothing has changed, except win don't win matches anymore. I'm fed up, we can do much better"
Re: Moyes Out
Swiss I'm not entirely sure we ever played a high line under Moyes? It feels that way but I think teams used to leave space for Antonio and co to get in behind and we always relied on counter attacks or fast transition ( whatever the pundits call it nowadays) and set pieces. Without set piece goals and ability to play on the counter we have to stretch teams and beat their high pressing which they all do now to us. We just can't cope because we sit deep and allied to not passing well enough means we are struggling big time. He has to change the system asap and play players better suited (eg Downes). But it may also mean further recruitment because we ain't got a left back good enough and need another striker
Re: Moyes Out
Gonzo on youtube says Soucek's stats are about the same as the previous 2 seasons but of course he scored a lot of goals in his first season. He can't play DM and get forward unless we play a high line which we don't that often now.
Re: Moyes Out
"One thing Moyes could have done or can do easily to improve us is out Downes alongside Rice and persist with it for a few games. I think and it's not insight it's obvious that it will improve our ability to keep the ball. Now I hear pundits and some fans talk about Soucek's defensive qualities being undervalued or not noticed. Typical citing interceptions and tackles stats. The counter to that is if we didn't lose the ball so much and had more possession we wouldn't need to be making so many tackles and interceptions! This is the crux of the problem. Moyes was an old school centre back in the days when tackling and physical contact were far more a factor. He is a defender with that mindset. It's almost non contact these days so you cannot tackle hardly. Soucek's other big big problem is he sloooooooow as a snail by modern standards. Getting Antonio wide is the obvious change in place of Bowen who is rightly missing out on the WC. He's been appalling this season. Seems to have coincided with his relationship with Dani Dyer? Too much ""rumpy pumpy""ù draining him of energy:-) Other simple things. Stop playing Fornals, Johnson and Downes in positions they are not suited to and have never played before. We know Moyes will not be binned until after the WC. He has the 6 week break to drill the team in a new system of play. Will he? Doubt it but if he don't he will and should be sacked. Out of interest anyone know Warbartons approach / style ? Same as Moyes or more expansive or attack minded?"

Re: Moyes Out
"Westside I'm sure that any agreement or contract to buy the club for a fixed price would have had a clause regarding which division. No you are wrong, Brundal. if you check the Companies House website, for West Ham filings, you will see there is a put and call option filed. This sets the share option price (fixed) and the date by which the option must be exercised. This article explains it, rather well. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/nov/26/daniel-kretinsky-agrees-option-for-full-takeover-of-west-ham#:~:text=Kretinsky's%20investment%2C%20which%20was%20between,West%20Ham%20at%20%C2%A3700m."

Re: Moyes Out
Kretinsky also has gas supplies and due to the mild autumn gas storage is at 100% capacity - so his conglomerate has plenty of collateral for when the time being...

Re: Moyes Out
Chinkey Weasel 11:54 Thu Nov 10 Agree with all that mate except the bit that they don't have the balls to get rid of Moyes. Maybe I'm just being hopeful but I reckon they'll get shot of him if we lose on Saturday. The anger and toxic atmosphere from the fans will also be a big factor and I don't think they'll fancy the backlash and the potential for protests to start up again. I also think we'd get a decent replacement but again maybe I'm just being hopeful.
Re: Moyes Out
Any power plant debt will get covered by any restructuring. Due to the Ukraine war. That's how the big boys make serious money. And if Kretinsky is a Biscuit Baron. I'm be more than happy to be a Jammy Dodger behind him. The Icelandic's tied themselves to one industry. Kretinsky wants to spread himself around. Hedge his bets.

Re: Moyes Out
"Arsegrapes, It's a fair point - I have no idea whether there is an existing agreement in place for Kretinsky next summer, or just an option. I guess nobody really knows. The Ukraine war, and sanctions against Russia, will have hit Kretinsky's energy-related businesses hard. So a full takeover can't be assumed."
Re: Moyes Out
"Most takeover agreements naturally value clubs at the division they are in. The price Kretinsky would pay would be significantly lower if we are not a Premier League club. No. The option price is set, so would be the same outlay for Kretinsky, regardless of which division we are in, or in the Champion's League etc. Of course, if we are relegated, it drastically reduces the chance of Kretinsky exercising his option and proceeding with the takeover."
Re: Moyes Out
"Moyes explanation earlier in the season was: 1. It will take a while to get the new players bedded in and up to the speed of the premier League. 2. It will take a while to get used to a change in playing style. Now, as I see it, the players are largely up to speed but I don't see a change in style. This latter point is the issue. We lined up defensively (and as we have done largely for the last two years) against Palace with a predominantly attacking line up. Why? Scamacca works well with players close and service in space. Our build up play ensures he is isolated and surrounded by defenders. Pacquetta has both skill and a killer pass, too often the shape of the team leaves him with nowhere to go. Rice regularly brings the ball out of defence and winds up looking for someone free to pass too, again shape of the team means defensive duties overrule making space so nowhere to go other than sideways, backwards or when really pissed off, go it alone. I am left wondering when this change in style is coming because, at the moment, two of our expensive recruits and our home grown diamond are absolutely wasting their time in this negative shit show. When attacking players are selected (Benrahma for example) they are regularly hooked for apparently neglecting their defensive duties. Moyes should be thanked for his efforts and shown the door. I suspect his influence will cement the departure of some, if not all of the better recruits (I exclude Emerson from that list as I remain to be convinced that he isn't the reincarnation of Jonathan Spector)."

"Kretinsky hasn't said he will take up the option to buy. Times said he has £2.3bn power plants debts due to Ukraine War. Owners and investors come and go see biscuit baron's, Liverpool et al"

Re: Moyes Out
"Sir Alf 11:33 Thu Nov 10 Re: Moyes Out It's interesting that Emerson looks ""ropey""ù Surface. I watched him in a few Chelsea games and he looked very good but as an attacking wing back. No idea what games you watched him in? Every time I'd seen him play he's been absolutely useless and that's not hindsight I said that when we signed him. He was so good at Chelsea they thought he wasn't good enough to be their second choice left back or their third as they went and signed another 3 left backs. How we could possibly sign somebody worse than cresswell is truly unbelievable"
Re: Moyes Out
"If we don't act soon the mood on the dressing room is going to get very dark with players wanting out. We've seen this before. I don't know what we're waiting for. We are better without him regardless of replacements. But then again it's not my 180 million spent so""¶."

Re: Moyes Out
"For those on this thread talking about Kretinsky and a potential take-over next summer... ...one thing to bear in mind is that, IF a takeover is effectively agreed for next summer, G&S will be less loyal to Moyes if they fear there is a genuine chance of relegation. Most takeover agreements naturally value clubs at the division they are in. The price Kretinsky would pay would be significantly lower if we are not a Premier League club. And G&S like their pennies and pounds. Any sniff that they won't get their asking price at 'Premier League West Ham' levels - and instead face 'Championship West Ham' and they'll throw Moyes into a pit. Moyes knows this, I'm quite sure. More than ever this year, the dildos are protecting their asset. Most likely means we'll change manager quite quickly if we're still struggling after the World Cup."
Re: Moyes Out
"one more note Ashby said in an interview after the u21's game win on Monday that he was happy, his fitness good, looking forward to perhaps him and some others from the u21's being in the squad last night. Then only 1, that as a 3rd keeper, displays an utter disregard for any young players that have played well and fought. Baffling the way he treats most of our players."

Re: Moyes Out
Pedro If he was unable to give Ashby a chance against the Blackburn B team then what kind of toxic soup is going through his head? Scarles even...why not? Give the kid at least an hour
Re: Moyes Out
Trouble is Moyes is trying to play a system that sorted Lingard without Lingard. Sit deep and counter attack with pace doesn't work with the players we have. We are more sorted to being proactive and moving the ball in the final third. The back 5 played last night shouldn't really be the issue. Trouble is the players he picks in it make it too defensive. A back 5 work if the proper wing backs are wingers rather than full backs. Plus it means we should be able to play with one player holding and two forward thinking midfielders behind a front 2.

Re: Moyes Out
"Nobody wants kamikaze football where the whole team is wide open allowing the better teams like City to pick us off by 5,6 or more goals. There is a time for pragmatism. With the players we have now there is a chance of having an attractive, balanced team instead of the garbage Moyes is serving up. Benny was taken off at half time on Sunday. At Championship level he was head and shoulders above most of the others - so why couldn't he give him at least an hour from the start yesterday? It's self sabbotage"
Re: Moyes Out
his treatment/deployment of downes shows you all you need to know about a manager who has lost the plot - plan A rumbled and he's floundering around trying to invent a new style at 59. Tetchy comments at press conferences are another sign - he's defensive on and off the pitch. We have one of our most creative squads ever yet are a total bore fest to watch
