"I see he mentioned Everton again and how patience is needed in a rebuild. I wondered what Everton fans thought of his time at the club, and what happened to them after them came 4th. Randomly found this write up - makes for very interesting reading: https://www.toffeeweb.com/club/managers/moyes.php A few quotes for those who don't fancy navigating away from here: ""2005-06 Moyes took EFC to 4th but he criminally failed to capitalise on the only window of opportunity he created to move the Club on. The lost opportunity was very much down to Moyes through a momentous series of transfer failures/non-transfers, leaving the squad at the beginning of a Championship League year depleted, paper-thin in most positions and devoid of quality and leadership. And playing the direst excuse for football. So one-dimensional and tactically homogenous that the whole world and his dog had worked out how to stop Everton winning for the rest of the season."" ""2005/06 - Moyes does not possess the mindset to win games; he possesses the defensive donÔøΩt get beat approach - and that will never challenge the better teams. We might stifle them and draw a few games and even win the odd one, when they are less than focussed, but would they fear us in terms of losing to us? I think not."" ""2009/10: He is dour, tactically aloof, very reactionary, and at times follows rather than leads. At times he could be brilliant ""î at Man City away, he had the players so fired up Everton destroyed them 2-0 and on top of that he nearly chinned Mancini. But then there are matches like Fiorentina away and the FA Cup Final where we meekly waved the white flag, crushed by the weight of negativity and the inferiorty complex that goes with."" ""2010/11 - Moyes is a great manager for a smaller club. A club that is battling relegation. Moyes gets them into mid-table or even higher, on a shoestring with no ambition. Moyes instills a backs-against-the-wall mentality, a them-against-us attitude. This would all befine if he was the manager of a small club."" ""2010/11 - Moyes doesn't have the tactical nous to be a top manager. He has struggled with team selection when he has had options to choose from. The majority of his big money signings have been bad choices, his tactics have lacked against better teams/managers, e.g. in Europe. Moyes is simply not cut out to be a top manager."""

"It's probably one of the biggest declines I can remember, even for West Ham standards. It's absolutely nuts that Moyes is sticking with his game plan just hoping teams might not have done their homework (not that they need to at the moment). He cannot change it. It's obvious. There is no way he will turn this round and he is killing the players. The only reason it didn't turn toxic today is because everyone left when the second goal went in. Absolute shit all round"

I can see things turning ugly for the owners very quickly if they don't bin Moyes. We look arguably the worst side in the league at the moment and any air of optimism or confidence is long gone. I cannot see anything changing after the World Cup which by then will be too late to react. It'll be like Avram Grant all over again.

"he's had time. he's so fucking arrogant, he didn't even think he needed a forward option on the bench. nine defenders in today's squad, southgate won't have many more than that in qatar"

Just take a quick look at how Newcastle's playing under Jowe. From dinosaur Bruce it's a revolution. Same would happen to WH if Moyes fucked off

"He said in his conference just now We need to find a way to score. How about trying 2 upfront you fucking idiot. Scammaca isn't the type of striker who's good enough to be left on his own, he brings others into play, just look at how he played at Sassuolo, a mid table Serie A team who played to his strentghs. Noyes saw that he is 6ft4 odd and thought, lovely he will get on the end of some crosses etc. No he's not that type of player and I bet he wishes he didn't come here now. Moyes is killing some good players"

"https://www.claretandhugh.info/moyes-pleads-for-time/ some truth in it? If so he could well be here into January at least. Do we give him the time? In fairness, we have had injury problems to the like og Aguerd and Cornet, and I'm all for letting new players settle, but he STILL favors players like Soucek when he should be dropped for Downes once in a while."

Tapped up by Everton Everton don't want to pay to release him and he doesn't want to give up a pay off for getting sacked. Allegedly

"He doesn't know how to coach a team to attack, beyond 1 plan. Get it wide and cross it to someone tall in the box, possibly 2 tall players if the 2nd giant has managed to get there in time. We don't have anything else in our lock. No through balls. No 1-2's. No movement off the ball. No stretching play. Etc. You can see the other teams executing patterns of attacking play in their games. We don't seem to have any of this. Time to go. We need 26 points."

How many first team players have West Ham got that are currently in their Country's National Squad? Is it something like 6 or 7? How can we not cobble a team tegether from these players to win the odd match? I think Moyes has got the parts but doesn't know how to make a team. He is floundering I am sorry to say with no sign of improvement. Out by Christmas if not sooner.

The fact that Soucek is in the team says it all. Done nothing for 30 games but still guaranteed a place.

"now is not the time to change ideally, that was 2 weeks ago with a new manager coming in and getting a foot hold before the long break. Coming in now isnt really ideal with a lot of players heading out to qatar. Having said that keeping him any longer might worse as we'll most definitely be staring down the gun with away visits to Arsenal and Brentford coming up."

"I've been a bit on the fence about Moyes up until now, purely because I don't like us changing managers too often. So my personal view was to review the situation at the point of the World Cup break. We've reached that period, we are one point above the relegation zone and there's no doubt we are now in a relegation fight. He's got to go. This season has been truly abysmal. In the Premier League, it's been a barely mitigated disaster papered over only by the fact that we were drawn in such a weak Europa conference group. The performances are extraordinarily negative, we sit far too deep to be a threat even at our own ground, build up is slow and lacks tempo, and too many of the players look like they don't want to be there. Some of our previously highly-praised midfielders can barely pass the ball. It's like watching infant children trying to put building blocks into shaped holes - everybody else in the ground, including the staff at the bar, can see the pass long before the players. And that includes the opposition. It's turgid, awful stuff and we get dominated every game. Tactically, Moyes makes the same mistakes again and again and again. He never seems to learn. and he has spent a fortune on this team. It isn't working, he has peaked and it's time for him to go."

"Why has to decline been so rapid? I know we can look at the decline in form following the international break in November 21, but this season it's been so drastic without any real reason for it and even less so, the stubborn sticking to his guns for an approach that doesn't work. Au revoir, Davy."

"I have said for a while that Moyes deserved to be given until the World Cup break to turn this around. I felt with the tough fixtures to start the season, trying to fit in all the new signings along with the injuries we had, particularly at the back that it was unfair to fully judge him until the break. We have now reached that break and I can't defend him anymore. We haven't been playing well this season and Moyes's reaction to slender defeats at Liverpool & Man Utd came across like they were some kind of moral victories just because we had pushed them. This despite plenty of other teams in the league actually being able to take points off of both teams this season. This past week has been the breaking point though. 3 home defeats against average opposition is unacceptable. Moyes has been fantastic for us for nearly 2 years and should always be welcome back to the club (As a guest) and be given a warm welcome by the fans but it's time to go."

"Moyes can fuck off. As Ii said before the game if he changes something, ANYTHING I'd give him a chance. The stubborn one play cսnt has ruined EVERYTHING he created. If he doesn't go we WILL go down."
