Re: Moyes Out
"i reckon moyes is praying paqueta gets to the final so he can bench him for a month on the grounds of ""yeah, some of the lads came back a bit fatigued and needed a wee bit of a rest"" without looking like he wasted £60m on a player he doesn't have a clue how to use, then can scrape a few points against also rans playing his tried and tested anti football. that'll see him through to march where a RO16 fixture against a team from a country that doesn't exist anymore becomes the primary focus."

Re: Moyes Out
"nailed on 2-0 defeat boxing day and as crazy as it sounds, moyes will be ok with that. why? look at his record against top teams away from home. he has a method, don't you know. to never get a fucking thing from these games but as long as we are 'gritty' for the first 30-35 minutes, he's happy with that. i shit you not. for that reason ..."

Re: Moyes Out
"That is a savage article without going in to any detail of why we are so bad under Moyes. At the same time it's blisteringly correct Moyes will continue to do the same thing Souceck will start alongside Rice against Arsenal As will Cresswell play LB We are stagnant, we need a refresh, we need to change it up"

Re: Moyes Out
Think he won the charity shield with Man Utd his opening game against Wigan in a disasterous tenure for the red scum.

⚒️ 12:53 Mon Nov 14 Re: Moyes Out Moyes got Everton to the FA Cup final in 2009. Went a goal up and then defended for their lives - lost 2-1 Old habits die hard it seams. I suppose at least they went a goal up and then defended for their lives. These days it is defend for your lives and then when a goal down start to play more direct.

"I have just read that Nicholson article. It's very damning. Almost to the point of being personal and spiteful. Whilst I don't condone that, I do agree that it is the cold hard facts and is the truth. As much as it's hard to read."

Re: Moyes Out
"Willtell 12:31 Mon Nov 14 Cheers. I read he had six months but must've been old. You are right, it is to 2024 but I have confirmed he is on £3m per year. So that means to sack him now will cost £6m. Again, for a PL football club its negligible."
Re: Moyes Out
"Lots of managers don't win cups and leagues. Lots of managers don't win much, even over a 20 year career. But most managers, in that time, in the premier league, manager to get a win away from home against one of the top 6 teams. 0 in something like 80 games isn't it? That's pathetic."
Re: Moyes Out
I think i should have been a football manager. It is the only position i am aware of where you get shit loads of money for failure.
Re: Moyes Out
"Moyes didn't come close to winning anything at Everton either, at a period when league and FA cup trophies were being won by the likes of Swansea, Portsmouth, Wigan and Birmingham. Everton have actually done better in cup competitions since he left, with six QF or better finishes in the last 7 years, compared to just two in Moyes' 11 seasons there."

"Not jumping to Moyes defence, but most managers in English football never win anything now that all competitions are almost completely dominated by a handful of clubs."

Re: Moyes Out
"What evidence is there that allows anyone to think that Moyes will 'get us up the table' Everyone forecast what would happen against Leicester and that's just how it unfolded. Admittedly, after the world cup there is an easy 3 points to be had away at Arsenal and then another easy 3 points to be had at home to Brentford, who having just beaten Man City away will be shitting their pants at coming to stronghold London Stadium won't they. So being practical as Moyes sets us up exactly the same as ever we will probably be in the bottom 3 come the start of the New Year. Will he be sacked then. Probably not, but he fucking well should be."

Re: Moyes Out
"The board won't sack Moyes because they lack ambition. They have already spent way more than they wanted to spend in the summer. To get rid of Moyes will cost them more money. They will have to pay his contract up and then probably double what they are paying him to get in a manager at the next level. It's all money they don't want to spend and so probably haven't factored in. But the way I would be looking at it is, a proper decent manager could make this squad click. So it's doubtful we'd need to go large in Jan window. And so, if say we have to pay Moyes his six months left that's £1.5m and then if say we went for Poch he'd be on £6m a year (roughly). So it's actually not alot of money in football terms. Add to that our Jan transfers will be low, its not really that big of a deal financially."
Re: Moyes Out
That John Nicholson article really is brutal. Unusual to read something that scathing from someone who isn't a fan of the club. He's not wrong though.
Re: Moyes Out
"What are people seeing that suggests he will get us up the table? Haven't we got 25 points in the last 25 games? We can't score goals, can't keep the ball, don't press and just look really down and zapped of confidence. Any other club would act."
Re: Moyes Out
"When Moyes was interviewed and it was "" i think I have done pretty well 6 & 7 in the league semi final Europe..."" The thing is you are only as good as your last game. I was of the opinion that the team would ""click"" (forever the optimist) but i think the club has 6 weeks to get someone in and work with the players."
Re: Moyes Out
"Football 365 have done a bit of brutal article on Moyes this morning""¶ Can't seem to post the link - journo has it right though. As each day passes and he hasn't been sacked I get more and more angry. We give him the next 6 weeks to not change anything, let him waste money on Nat Phillips and Keane in January, then sack him mid Feb when bottom and all we employ is Dyche. Get rid now, get a top quality manager in, give them the time, a budget for a couple in Jan and promise them the Rice money in the summer and let them get to work. By not acting we are fucking ourselves."
Re: Moyes Out
"Northern I'm not so sure Moyes will get us up the table. We are seeing the age of many players, who did well in his counter attack / set piece system ( BFS style too ) , catching up. As the second oldest team we still need to continue the squad refresh regardless of who is in charge. I suspect that is the main reason Moyes is retained. A new manager will mean further investment. Keeping Moyes around though assumes he can use the 6 week break to reset the squad and team, work on the training ground to fix problems etc. Well firstly he has to accept that Antonio, Soucek, Cresswell, Coufal, Dawson are not going to get any younger or improve very much. So he has to use most if not all of the new players. Then he has to work out a system of play that will work with these players. His chief tactician is away with England at the WC so not sure who's going to be working on this with the players? And it assumes he is going to realise the players we bought don't suit the way we played last 2 years? He will also need to play players in their best / preferred positions like Paqueta deeper, Downes alongside Rice, Fornals central as a no 10, etc. And he will be limited on the training pitch work by the absence of Rice, Paqueta, Aguerd and Kehrer. Too many obstacles for someone as résistent to change as Moyes. I think we are very strong candidate now for relegation without a complete change of manager and his coaching team. Cannot see any evidence of Moyes being prepared to make changes needed. And besides all that it's critical to get another striker that score some goals and a left wing back. There are other positions we could do with upgrading or strengthening the squad like another CB and central midfielder but those 2 most urgent IMO. Everything is against us seeing a revival in fortunes as things stand :-("

Re: Moyes Out
Admiral Lard 8:23 Sun Nov 13 Re: Moyes Out The club are backing David Moyes to get us out of the current mess. Best to stop your knicker wetting and get behind the club you love. In some cases on here I a doubt the club is West Ham United lard I think the majority of people I know are not knicker wetting... and probably Moyes will get us up the table... and out of this current mess... however the majority of people I know including quite a few who just cannot be arsed at the mo and cannot even pass on their match tickets for free ... are just fucking BORED... a combination of an Allardyce clone (K.Nolan) and a dour defensive approach manager in Moyes does not make a good afternoon's viewing...
