Re: Moyes Out
Onesideman I think from the outside that all sounds straightforward. But when a whole set of coaching staff go after 3yrs it's like any working place. It creates issues. It's entirely probable that footballers can enjoy going into work yet be losing games. They can like their colleagues etc.. So changing it around lock stock and barrell when they weren't expecting it could have a very negative effect.
Re: Moyes Out
"But the back end staff and culture is part of the fucking problem threesixty! Who will you miss? We're unorganised and without a plan, have the second oldest squad in the division and play an archaic brand of football"

Re: Moyes Out
Maybe the board have sounded out certain managers with a view of replacing Moyes and have been rejected. So we could be left with Moyes for at least the rest of this season. I mean any manager worth his sort wouldn't work with the current board of shysters.
Re: Moyes Out
"We set out this season with almost the entire squad which ended last season having qualified a second year running for European football. We 'strengthened' our squad by spending c£180m on new, additional, players. I have been away for ten days only able to follow games on my iphone. How telling the stats were, is there a single club in topflight football who don't know what our tactics (????) will be for the first 20 minutes, it is utterly pathetic. Moyes is tactically inept, a stubborn idiot who is either unwilling or unable to change things around. I looked at our bench in the Palace match, how different from last season. That bench with two additional players should defeat any premiership side outside the top seven but only with a decent manager. I doubt Moyes has any idea what our best team is, he can't even play the players in their best positions. I question squad fitness and motivation he has lost it and sadly his coaches seem incapable of influencing matters. Instead of challenging for a European place we are in a relegation struggle which is unbelievable! This next six weeks is a golden opportunity to get rid of him and have a new manager in to get the team back on the rails, sadly our board dither as much as Moyes does."

Re: Moyes Out
"I'm not mad if the majority want him to go.Maybe it is time. But if he was to go now it would only be because A) we may be relegated B) we are going to miss out on a trophy/top 6 C) we want to progress in a different style/direction From where we are no one would a) is unlikely to happen. B) is unlikely to happen So if it's C). I feel like the board need to take their time and sound out the right person. And if they have to right off this season then so be it. But it makes no sense to panic into any old manager as we aren't going to get anything from that really. Unless we are going to poach a top manager mid season and pay silly money, is there a point? (Serious question)"

Re: Moyes Out
"I am not going to rewrite history or focus on the negative in what was generally a very positive (sometimes historically positive) couple of years. You can pick negatives or positives from any situation if you pick the right bit of evidence and don't waver from your preconceived conclusion. But the results are not there, a transition of playing styles (which most believe is needed for results) is not there and the attitude is wrong. Wins can change a lot but return to the first part of the last point. We have players who can pass the ball, we still continue to be a poor side at it. We bought players who can for a lot of money. It is time."

Re: Moyes Out
"Russ yes it feels early as its only November. That's why I said it's was like a ""Mirage""ù. You can look at the headline stats, semi-finals or Europa, qualified top of the group, finished 7th etc.. previous season finished 6th, qualified top of europa conference etc And yeah it looks early and a touch harsh.. But then as you've posted the actual games W/D/L it doesn't feel early."

Re: Moyes Out
"Threesixty - ""Feels very early""?? Last 31 games Won 8 Drawn 5 Lost 18 -23 GD 29 points from 93"
Re: Moyes Out
I disagreed with the title up to 10 games in and when I saw Downes moved to the number 10 position I knew Moyes was not planning to change the approach and would retain the old guard despite their age and/or loss of form catching up. Last 5 games in the league have only entrenched my view that it's time for a change. Our game plan was sussed last season and even with 7 additions no real sign of change. A recipe for disaster ( aka relegation)

Re: Moyes Out
"Irons I'm not yet 100% Moyes out, maybe that's an emotional reaction as he did transform this club. And it feels very early. But I also understand the reality of the situation I.e. I can't see him do more than struggle to mid table if he's lucky. And then the following season I can't see him do any better than that. So. Business wise it's best for him to go now as what is the point of staying? However, changing manager means changing a whole back-end staff and culture. It's a big deal. And for a club like ours, we tend not to handle that well at all. So, just don't know.."
Re: Moyes Out
"He has a certain way of playing and as form has got worse he's run out of ideas, criticism slowly builds and he's just doubled down and become really touchy. Reminds me of Roy Hodgson when England manager but a slower process. I don't hate him at all, it's just sad to see. If he went soon before he does more damage he'll still go down as one of our best premier league managers without a doubt. I simply can't see him turning it around now as it's just gone on too long and we've got even worse since the summer."

We quible about wording or when we called it but does anyone actually disagree with topic title at this point.

Re: Moyes Out
"The problem Moyes has is that the last 10 months or so have been a mirage. He has been going down hill since Dec/Jan of last season. It's just looked better because he qualified early in the Europa and didn't have any games until March, But in general it's been getting worse and worse. And then when he bought players in its got even worse still. So for anyone who's been paying attention (I.e. the fans).. this is not a knee-jerk reaction. And a year is along time for a manager not to. Turn something around. It doesn't look like he;s able to from where I'm standing. Just looks bleak."

Re: Moyes Out
"twoleftfeet - I'm not interested in what he has done, I'm interested in what he is going to do. Right now he is driving this thing off a cliff and is unable to make any changes in his driving style to avert the oncoming danger. He has had money and time and now he is turning on the support. Unfortunately, if you do look back at what he has done then it ia unremarkable. He is cut from the same cloth as Allardyce and Pullis and relies on creating false narratives to prove his success. Being in this group requires a club that is grateful. Requires the threat of relegation and a small mind mentality to celebrate 17th. Moyes has had that in his honeymoon period and has pushed on with that momentum behind him. Unfortunately for the 3rd David, he hasn't any experience in his entire managerial career of over 800 games, had any proven success of buying and managing big players and chasing big prizes. This just isn't his genre and he is now looking fondly over to the crisis at Everton and his future roll as firefighter and rescuer. Back to where he belongs before retirement. We have to look to the future and be brave and have a plan to win. Playing not to lose means you cannot really win. We have to be beyond this now and have some pride in us as a club."
Re: Moyes Out
twoleftfeet every dog has it's day even the best milk curdles at some stage have you seen the quality of the current squad? you do realise most european teams we played were pretty much euro 'southend united' equivalent? aim low get low - that's what we are getting this manager has no solution and is now getting sarcastic with the supporters it only goes one way from here - this scenario is played out many times in many arenas in many sports this manager is not up to this squad
Re: Moyes Out
"Not a fraud? He said that because Leicester and us were on the same points prior to Saturday, that ''he must be doing something right''. If yhose aren't the words of a liar and deceiver I don't know what are."

He'll potentially have another 'SAVED US FROM RELEGATION' on his CV at the end of this season.

Re: Moyes Out
"Fraud? OK one more time for the deaf - Saved us from relegation. Twice got us into Europe Semi final of Europa League Unbeaten qualifying campaign in the conference league Knocked both Manchester sides out of the Carabao cup I have no issue if the board decided to back him or sack him, managers come and go, but to call him a fraud is a fucking stupid thing to say but one I expect from the knicker wetters who frequent this site."
Re: Moyes Out
"Yes that piece is brutal, but it's hard to have too much sympathy for Moyes when a lot of it is his own doing. Man utd set this fraud up for life, and when we eventually get rid of him, he'll get another nice lump."
