Moyes Out ( Released )
"Posted the same last year. Nothing has changed, except win don't win matches anymore. I'm fed up, we can do much better"
Re: Moyes Out
"The board are in a catch 22 situation, bring someone else in and we move up the table and build from there or he could take us down or stick with Moyes because he was the man who they brought in to get us out of the same mess we find ourselves in now. But personally I get rid, Moyes style of management and his inability to change has password sell buy date."

Re: Moyes Out
"Rice's interview is the classic defence of a struggling manager And is almost ALWAYS followed by them talking about the NEW manager when the struggler is replaced saying ..... New bloke is just the change we needed, everything is much better BLAH BLAH BLAH As said previously if you want Moyes to continue you have to accept that Haller, F Anderson , Vlasic, Kral, Scamacca, Pacqueta & Benrahma are all TERRIBLE footballers and he has just been unlucky"
Re: Moyes Out
"Russ of the BML 12:11 Thu Nov 17 ""And I would suggest that Haller, Vlasic and now Scamacca and Paqcueta tell you more about how Moyes influence can have on a player."" Exactly. Moyes is better off managing Championship players."
Re: Moyes Out
The board's patsy Mark Noble says the downturn was expected. The man has been stealing a living at West Ham for 10 years and now will be Sporting Director whatever the fuck that means. Football people stick together and never slag off managers. Noble's comments I take with a pinch of salt
Re: Moyes Out
"What it all comes down to I think ( Imho) is that the Moyes system or tactics is not high energy / possession based and is akin to the counter attacking, defend deep, compact and keep the shape system that Mourinho and others had success with 10-20 years back. But the game moves on and Pep and Klopp and others high press, super fit and passing or possession based approach is able to beat teams that sit deep etc. Moyes system is well suited to clubs with limited budgets and can get less technically gifted players who are real team players to perform well as a collective unit, robust, no nonsense defending and taking a few chances after ""weathering the storm""ù in the first half of first 60 mins. That is the only system Moyes has ever used to my knowledge and with limited expectations at clubs like Everton who had a modest budget at the time he was able to optimise what he had. Taking good honest, hard working players and creating a team that was hard to score against. But, as mentioned, managers and teams nowadays have learned how to deal with this approach and can stretch and move them around, press relentlessly to force mistakes. Moyes either learns and then successfully implements a new system of play or has to be replaced. Did a good job but now time to transition. The problem will be that the owners probably don't even understand the game enough or look at other clubs to see that we need to progress. They are as out of date in their handling of a modern Premiership football club as Moyes is with his tactics. Hence we will inevitably have to suffer and miss yet another opportunity to get regular top 10 finishes just as it's been all my supporting life of 60+ years. All the above is statement of tge bleedin obvious. Moyes needs to change won't or cannot and owners don't recognise it so will probably go for another out of date, old school manager. I would lay a lot of money on it being Rafa Benitez."
Re: Moyes Out
I agree that his approach is more in-line with the modern game. his approach helped frame that modern game. but his approach was progressive in 2014. now its pretty much the norm. there's nothing in his approach that would make our board think twice about approaching him. whether he would want to be here is something else.............

Re: Moyes Out
Reminds me a bit of MOYES and all his talk about the REDBULL model he wanted at the club. We currently couldn't be further from the REDBULL model even if we tried to be.

Re: Moyes Out
"goose 6:32 Wed Nov 16 He managed Espanyol to mid-table from rock bottom in half a season. His first game was a 0-0 draw with a mighty Barca team after just two training sessions. He ripped up their rule book and got rid of their traditional system of soaking up pressure and using a zonal marking defence. Implementing a high energy and high press 4-2-3-1 that the season after got them into the top ten. He ensured the same system was used throughout the whole club at all levels and all ages and he pushed an emphasis on developing youth and promoting them to the first team. They again finished comfortably in the league and, despite the clubs financial restrictions, were very competitive. When he left them more youth players had played for the first team than under any other manager. At Soton he established the same system. First season they finished 8th. And along the way took some top scalps. Again he developed a system throughout the whole club using the high energy and high press and emphasised youth development. We know what he did at Spurs. Making them competitive in the PL and taking them to a CL final. Things obviously turned sour at Spurs for him. Think he fell out with Levy? His approach may now be copied. Other managers may be as progressive as him? Maybe he can't be regarded as progressive anymore? I don't know. But, one thing I do know, his approach and methods are much more aligned to the modern game than our current manager."

Re: Moyes Out
"Huffers 9:46 Thu Nov 17 With respect mate - Judging Kral on one bad performance against Kiddy is a bit low. This kid was Czech U-21 captain. Was playing regularly for the Czech first team by 21. Nominated as Spartak Moscow's player of the season. Played regularly in the CL for them. I know his time with us wasn't a success. But you don't become a bad player overnight. For me, it's more nuanced that you suggest. And I would suggest that Haller, Vlasic and now Scamacca and Paqcueta tell you more about how Moyes influence can have on a player."

Re: Moyes Out
What has Alex Kral's footballing ability got to do with Moyes' man management? You've only got to look at how he has dealt with Benrahma to get an idea.

Re: Moyes Out
"""but want Pochetino in instead, who has also not won anything....."" Apart from he has."
Re: Moyes Out
"Pochettino might look at the recent managers who preceded him at PSG who then went on to manage Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid and think that means he can do better than Villa or us. On the other hand he might look at Laurent Blanc who didn't get another job for four years and that was in Qatar."
Re: Moyes Out
"as many have said before, an interview with a current club employee during choppy water times, is futile. they always follow the 'club narrative' for all obvious reasons. so i didn't look at nobles comments, no point. easy to predict. every time, every club, with this scenario."

"Kandu 9:47 Wed Nov 16 Re: Moyes Out Searlo1966 7:27 Wed Nov 16 Re: Moyes Out Omg Kandu. What has Moyes won? Nothing. My point is some on here slag Moyes off for not winning anything but want Pochetino in instead, who has also not won anything..... He has a reputation clearly, that's why PSG went in for him. Nobody can deny the massive positive step change at Spuds ... for that reason ..."

Re: Moyes Out
"Not sure where Pochettino sees himself if he wants to manage in the PL again. He obviously isnt going to be Man City, Liverpool or Man Utd manager any time soon. If Conte ran away (he seems relatively happy at the moment) Tottenham would probably have him back. If he is waiting for Chelsea after they have sacked Tuchel & then obviously Potter he is putting himself into a ridiculous club. His record ..... good at Souhampton, reviving Tottenham but winning nothing and then below average at PSG when handling big egos isnt as good as he obviously thinks it is. A club like us is probably his level now. As would Villa have been and Everton are still. POCHETTINO, KNOW YOUR PLACE"

"Vlasic is still playing very well in Serie A, btw, creating and scoring etc. Torino likely to bite our hands off to exercise the £13m option they have on him - but probably not until the end of the season (rather than cash for us to spend in January)."

Re: Moyes Out
"Keep dreaming 7:59 Thu Nov 17 Re: Moyes Out Yes of course Pochs stock is higher than Moyes but I'm sure Poch will also see himself as a Champions League level manager and look only at clubs in that bracket. How do we rate us? Not Champions league ,of course not. I rate us about 7th-8th in the Prem which is where we find ourselves (not immediately now but last 2 seasons) I think Europa League is our ceiling to be honest. Good to dream and aspire to higher of course but realistically? When you look at the recently traditional top 6 and Newcastle already threatening to gatecrash I don't think it's realistic . I'd be happy with 7/8th finish each season and a European adventure certainly"

"noble said a week or so ago that a slump was expected, this after us spending ¬£180m. I wouldn't trust the cսnt to tell me the right time"
Re: Moyes Out
I am firmly Moyes Out but Alex Kral might want to learn a bit about ball management and how to control it then pass against the likes of Kidderminster before he worries about the manager.

Re: Moyes Out
"Read the interview first before making a comment. He doesn't just slag Moyes off, he's very considered in what he says, and it would very much coincide with the vibe Moyes gives off in public."
