"It does seem like he's ready for another job. And we would tick a lot for boxes for him. Considering who Villa and Wolves have just appointed, he shouldn't be seen as out of reach."

"i'd written off pochettino, but after this interview i'd say he's still a possibility. he didn't want a job till after the WC which if there have been feelers put out would explain us sticking with Moyes until after our ceremonial shoeing at the emirates: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6oTmk6Vkp4#t=5m36"

Takashi Miike 1:52 Thu Dec 1 Re: Moyes Out EXACTLY. In what world is Paqueta a Moyes type of player? No wonder we are struggling to play him in a set up which is likely a little alien to him.

"Texas Iron 1:53 Thu Dec 1 Yep you got it right. I have to admit I got it wrong as I said give him 10-15 games to bed in new players and see if we see the ""green shoots of recovery""ù by Xmas. I suppose my get out was that I did say that only if we fell into a relegation fight should we trigger ""the ejector seat""ù for Moyes. The game at United was the tipping point when I saw Downes as an advanced midfielder. WTF ! The bloke has never played there. But it confirmed that Moyes was blind to the failings of Soucek and a system of play that had been in decline for 10 months. It also meant Downes wouldn't play that well so he could be dropped when Paqueta returned."

I think fact we are in the conference league will be an attraction to top managers. It is arguably an easy route to winning a trophy; good for cv and another route to Europe etc

"all this dragging of feet plays in to my theory that suillivan still buys all the players, and having a new face (especially someone like poch/tuchel) would end that immediately. I wouldn't trust him or moyes with the rice money"

"totally agree, he should have been gone after the leicester game. the new bloke would have already two weeks preparation done and a couple of new faces lined up, instead we have dithering dave riding the rollercoasters in busch gardens while we flirt with relegation. it's hard to work why the vertically challenged owner has delayed the inevitable, but it will cost far more if we go down"

"That's how it looks Mcpee. Only mitigation that might be found is that Sunday/Thursday schedule and bringing in or completing the transfer business so late in the window has left very little time on the training pitch to work with the players? But the more likely reason is that Nevin, Nolan, McKinley and Warbarton, under Moyes direction, have simply continued the same drills and practice with the ""tried and trusted""ù approach and set up. Keep the shape, sit deep and compact in 2 banks of 4 and 5 and wait to hit them on the counter when out of possession. Do this for 60-70 minutes and try not to concede more than 1. That's fine and to some extent has continued to work. But the counters and ability to score from them and set pieces has failed totally. We also always let in 1 or 2 and the idea that you open up after 70 mins and play on the front foot just doesn't work either. As you say, we cannot pass accurately and like watching teams that have failed at the WC our build up play is slow. Teams that press us high force us to give it away and lose possession. We look too slow as a team. We have 4 or 5 in the regular starting 11 who cannot pass accurately enough or are too slow and/or old. We are the equivalent of a Denmark, Belgium or even Wales at times. It's untenable IMO. Moyes and Nevin, the chief tactician, have no experience of playing like most teams do nowadays. We are still incomplete as a squad to play that way well too ( again IMO ). We have no recognised wing backs as the one in the squad ( Emerson) doesn't get picked. We play the slowest central midfielder in the division (Soucek) who also has some of the worst passing stats. We only have one proper striker. On top of all that, we regularly play 3 or 4 players out of position. I'm surprised we've won any games. I have seen attempts to play a game where we build up from the back but due to the aforementioned problems, we are awful at it. Slow, sideways, backwards passing. Possession for possession sake. We closely resemble Wolves under Nuno who tried to change the way they played from countering. They failed, he was sacked and like us they have 1 striker. They have struggled ever since. We need a new manager, coaching team with experience of playing a fast possession game with lots of movement. We also need 2 wing backs, another striker and box to box central midfielder or one that allows Rice to play that way. Downes might be that bloke but we don't know as he never gets the chance. Moyes out I'm afraid !!"

"Meerkat= find that hard to believe. We are not match fit and have lost sight of basic skills like passing, shooting and basic tactical sense. Team spirit isn't exactly high either, what the hell are we up to? Almost a lazy, couldn't care less scenario."

It is meerkat. It's utterly astonishing how pampered the modern day football manager is kept . I'm showing my age now I remember being on the clock end Highbury when at least 8000 hammers were screaming we want el Tel in September 1987 . Against our greatest ever manager John lyall .

So 17th in the league is rewarded with the squad given 2 weeks off and the man responsible for said league position takes a holiday in Florida . Nice work if you can get it !

These fan channels don't half like to stir the shit . As if the club has already spent the rice money .does anyone really believe that ultra conservative owners like the spivs would gamble in that way. Kretinsky obviously put the money up . As was confirmed at the time by whetstone and southon.

"Nagel 6:55 Tue Nov 22 Re: Moyes Out marty feldman 1:37 Tue Nov 22 Kretinsky's had about 20 managers at Sparta Prague since he became chairman in 2004, so he definitely seems to like sacking them. It kind of suggests that he don't know how to properly run a club either though, unfortunately. 4 league titles 6 Czech cups 2 Czech supercups Suggests the club isn't doing too bad."

"Can't see how it HAS 'all been spent'. Perhaps this is the Daves putting 'reimbursement ahead of sale' as a condition of the latest round of spending, which would have the same effect. Danger is it might force Dec's value down if the money has to be found quickly before the Daves jump ship..?"

Get that lad Caciado from Brighton and the loss of Rice won't be as hard felt IMO He's playing for Ecuador in the WC. Great player and still relatively affordable. Although if all the money already spent then back to the days of the bargain bin which are gonna be Moyes type players.

"Depressing rumour that we've already spent the Rice money in advance. This was supposed to be the big break out season that would put us on a good footing next summer when he goes. We've wasted a third of the season on Moyes and seems we've more than willing to let him torpedo the whole thing, along with the morale of the players we've already spunked the Rice money on."

If there's any doubt that Sullivan still runs the club . It's surely been dispelled now . Moyes would have been out on his arse at any properly run club .and Kretinsky must be fuming at the dwarfs stupidity.
