Moyes Out ( Released )
"Posted the same last year. Nothing has changed, except win don't win matches anymore. I'm fed up, we can do much better"
Re: Moyes Out
"Swindon - I agree with acknowledging and appreciating the good times but they dont last, especially here. Beating Man Utd on the last game at UP will forever live in the memory, but like Moyes, Bilic came unstuck badly the next season. There arent too many managers who ARENT sacked eventually. Even Ranieri at Leicester was sacked not long after delivering the title. I can think of one or two (Ferguson, Wenger) who delivered the good times consistently and walked away on their own terms or some that are poached by bigger clubs. The rest are invariably sacked. This is Moyes's fate eventually but it needs to happen soon so we can all move on."

"The great decline started last January though? That was last season. The results we're seeing now, was because he failed miserably in that transfer window."

Re: Moyes Out
"Brentford, nothing wrong with being ambitious but just saying that starting to pick apart the EL run last year as some kind of failure when whilst disappointing at the end was still a success overall and gave our fans some good memories. Same with those seasons under Pardew & Bilic. We can pick them apart and say ultimately we failed/should have gone further but overall they were great seasons that had good moments and the ending shouldn't define a lot of the good memories. That's my issue. Not people wanting Moyes gone for what has happened this season (I now agree) but because they are now trying to rewrite the good things he did bring as a negative. Near misses most certainly do hurt. I was at the 2006 FA Cup final and I still can't watch Gerrard's goal when they show it on TV. Makes me feel sick even 16 years later."
Re: Moyes Out
"13 - exactly. Right now our owners are effectively embracing failure by refusing to act on the current freefall we find ourselves in. Its astonishing they are continuing to gamble on a manager with Moyes recent track record. THEY are the root of the problem, they approach transfers like wide-boy market traders and involve themselves far too much in the signing of the wrong types of players for a lot of money. Do you REALLY think Moyes went into Sullivans office and demanded we sign Paqueta? Until they go it will not get any better. Assuming we avoid relegation which is looking less lieky as each game passes, we might be rid of them eventually. Here's hoping."

Re: Moyes Out
".....that applies to the fans as well Fuck being grateful for 2 top 7 finishes and acsemi final defeat. Until that culture changes we will never win a thing as it transmits to the owners who think they are doing a good job. Some on here would be happy with Parker or Dyche, fuck that too. I want owners who understand the history and potential if this club, to approach and convince top managers to come here and turn us into winners. It shouldn't be that difficult."

Re: Moyes Out
"Swindon, I'm ambitious, and have always seen our near misses as failures that still hurt. Been over 42 years since we won anything, with our fanbase, history and potential that is pretty poor. Until we get ambitious owners who understand how to build a successful club and demand success and don't accept failure, nothing changes."

Re: Moyes Out
"The crux of this, is that Moyes has been the rare entity of being backed to build a squad by the owners....he chose not to at key points which has lead to his demise.....a demise that has been allowed to go on for over a year.....that is criminal in the modern game of football today. Like in games you have to take your chances.......he hasn't and now expects to be given time when he was given a more rare opportunity of having the owners financial backing."

"""Vieira...at the healm?"" What is it that you've been impressed by? Been given some serious funds, unlike Hodgson, and achieved... What exactly? Mid table finishes? Funny, a few of their fans are not impressed with him."
Re: Moyes Out
So when we win Moyes is lucky and when we lose he's shit. Ok thats very fair minded of you

Re: Moyes Out
"Brentford, absolutely we missed out on the chance to win something and build on it and it's disappointing but it was still a great run. saying stuff like ""pathetic EL surrender in both legs. Losing a semi final is not something to celebrate, we should have won that competition""ù is basically implying it was a failure. For one we didn't ""surrender""ù to Eintracht Frankfurt. We narrowly lost the first leg and then had a player sent off in the second leg which basically killed the tie. It's like saying losing the 2006 FA Cup final was a failure after being 2 goals up and facing no top 6 clubs (City weren't top 6 at that time) to get to the final. We had a fairly easy run to the final and then lost surrendered a 2 goal lead so don't give Pardew any credit. Or saying the final season at UP ultimately ended a failure as we were in the top 4 to 6 for a lot of that season with one of the worlds best players in Payet and we then lost 2 of our last 3 games against Swansea & Stoke and finished 7th. So that was failure and missed opportunity. See what I mean? It's easy to pick through the negatives of things even when those things under Pardew & Bilic and Moyes were mainly positives."
Re: Moyes Out
"Finished 6th. Still behind Leicester. Didn't take full advantage of Man United, Arsenal, Spurs all having shite seasons. Finished 7th. Could have had 6th easily but fucked it up despite being only 45 mins away. Cocked up the semi final matches, got totally out thought. Leicester still won the FA cup. Actual achievement. Then his luck runs out."
Re: Moyes Out
Seconds - no I wanted moyes gone when we lost to Leicester and palace and a new manager in for these games but the owners for whatever reason have seen fit to stand by him. Its their money I suppose and more fool them because it's going to end badly. Look at our fixtures to the end of the season and tell me where we get the 35 plus required to stay up if we keep Moyes and play the way we have been.

Re: Moyes Out
".....Going back to last early January when after we lost to Leeds at home and he admitted that the players were tired, to then sign no one was madness, unforgivable. It caused our failures at the end of the season and meant we had to sign 7 or 8 in the summer. All his summer targets didn't want to come here bar Aguerd, it seems he is only capable of signing CBs Don't forget he wanted Lingard, Onana, Kostic and Broja. In the end it looks like the club had to step in and sign some players who actually wanted to come. Predictably he seemed to throw a tantrum and has hung them all out to dry."

"Takashi Miike, again please go back and look at all my comments and try to find anywhere where I have said to any poster that ""they knew fuck all""ù or that "" they weren't true fans""ù etc. Good luck with that lad because you won't find anything. You are making stuff up now or confusing me with another poster. As I said in my previous post, if me saying Moyes deserved a chance to turn around up until the World Cup break means I'm his ""biggest cheerleader""ù then so be it. Since the start of this season I have always been consistent in my opinion on that."

"nyc, so you propose to give basically all the easy games to the staggering zombie only to parachute in someone else for a nightmare run when we're essentially fucked? moyes has lucked out in that we haven't had to play newcastle in this first round of fixtures as that will be another guaranteed caning."

Re: Moyes Out
"Swindon, the point I was making was that even though we have been RELATIVELY successful the last couple of seasons we still didn't win anything or even get to a final or finish higher which was very possible had we not collapsed at the latter ends of both seasons. The semi final defeat was disappointing and it felt like a missed opportunity, same as our league positions especially last season when we were continually presented with opportunities by a crap Man Utd side to cement Europa League and at least atone for the semi final surrender, but instead we repeatedly underperformed and allowed them to claim 6th despite them being rubbish. The Brighton game was a sickening way to end the season. We all knew, Man U, Arsenal and Newcastle would be stronger this season, same with the European competitions. We missed a massive opportunity to build something. It's not rewriting history, if we had been able to build on the last two seasons then you could say they were a success."
Re: Moyes Out
Next three games are critical against opposition that's in and around the relegation spaces. Wolves and Everton are 6 pointers and I hope moyes and the players are up for the dog fight that we now find ourselves in. 2 wins in those 3 and things are looking miles better. Play like we have been playing and lose all 3 and good as down. I have little confidence that we'll suddenly find the form we need after an entire year of not having any.

"hahaha, for months you and others had this ""wait until after the world cup"" mantra. we never knew fuck all, we weren't true fans and he deserved to get to january. well, you clueless cunts got your wish and we are well and truly fucked. yet you still pretend you weren't his biggest cheerleader on here, with that other twat 2 left feet. another one who likes changing his mind and was calling for moyes sacking before this thread started, then shouted down any criticism of moyes for months. just amazing levels of bullshit üòÇ"

Re: Moyes Out
"Seeing as you're using the word ""failure"" with quotation marks, you'll be able to point out where someone on here has called reaching the semi finals of the Europa that, swindon? I know you take issue with the rewriting of history, so I do hope you haven't done that twice (gph has already corrected you saying Astra weren't part-timers) in the space of a few minutes."

Re: Moyes Out
"Takashi Miike, Maybe you should go back and do your research. I have said since September when we had a bad start to the season that due to the injuries we have had and also trying to bed in many new signings that Moyes should be given the chance until the World Cup break to turn it around. As soon as we lost to Leicester in the last game before the break I said that he has now had the time to turn it around and he should be sacked. I have always been consistent in that opinion and timeframe. All my posts are all still there to look back on if you wish."

Re: Moyes Out
"Johnson, let me break this down for you so you understand. I think our league form in 2022 has been really poor and Moyes deserves to be sacked because of that. I think Moyes has struggled to get the best out of our new signings and he is mainly at fault for dithering and not bringing in reinforcements in January when we could have pushed on. I don't think Moyes is the sort of manager that does well when he has lots of money to spend, is dealing with higher profile players and the expectations are higher. So just to confirm I think Moyes should be sacked. What I do take issue with is the rewriting of history on here by some posters that are now trying to say that finishing in the top 7 and getting European football for 2 consecutive seasons (something no other West Ham manager has done in over 40 years) is now a fluke while also implying that losing in a European semi final to the eventual winners is now deemed as a ""failure""ù So if by me saying that finishing in the top 7 twice and reaching a European semi final was a good achievement and people shouldn't start downplaying that means I am sticking up for Moyes then so be it. I'm sticking up for what he did rather than what he is doing now. There's a difference."

Re: Moyes Out
"gph, yep I shouldn't have used the word part timers. The fact still stands that we lost to a Romanian team twice in qualifying rounds that we should have beaten and yet there are some on here rewriting history and now saying it's a ""failure""ù to lose a European semi final to the eventual winners."
