Worst owners in football? I could name at least 20 clubs whose supporters would disagree.

"Watching Morocco's matches, it seems Aguerd is actually a left footed centre back who actually prefers playing right side of a 2. Another genius bit of scouting."

They are without doubt the worst owners in football. Can never see anything beyond the next pound note . And as nyhammer correctly says we are a train crash and always will be while Sullivan runs things . For people with ridiculously thin skins they don't realise what's coming next . They will be remembered for relegating the club with the 5th biggest average attendance in world football if they ain't careful .

"nychammer 8:17 Sun Jan 1 Totally agree they are toxic and it does scream of fantasy football. When dealing with PSG over Areola, Sullivan probably asked have you got any any left footed CB as ours is crooked, they said we have Kehrer, unfortunately right footed but you can have him on the same terms as Areola. Music to Sullivan's ears and brags about dealing with PSG and buying a German international. How on gods earth does someone buy Kehrer as a replacement for Areola who was a replacement for Ogbona. You can't make this up."

Whatever be it moyes or the board or both in combination it's a massive train wreck that's been happening in slow motion for the last year. A Collectively toxic situation.

"Daka went to Leicester the year previous. Onana went to Everton because Moyes couldn't give him a promise of first team football. Having said that, I agree with your general point about the scattergun approach and the players coming in seemingly very different to what was required."

"They are toxic and the sooner we are rid the better. They make Brown look good. I also suspect moyes had far less to do with some of those transfers than we otherwise think. Screams of Sullivan Jr playing fantasy football with daddies money. The best chairmen stay in the background and run the club. The problem is nobody decent or reputable will want to touch this mess with a barge pole, so we'll be getting a mercenary who'll gladly take it on with no funds and will just shrug and walk off if it dosent end well."

"Sir Alf 5:56 Sun Jan 1 I fully agree on what you say, for me it's the ownership problem we really need to concentrate on, after the last two seasons I really thought we have moved on from buying the wrong or not good enough players. I thought filling out a 60k stadium we have moved on from fighting relegation. But I still believe this isn't just Moyes's fault and would go as far to say I don't think Moyes had any say in the players that came in. Sullivan being Sullivan went for razzle dazzle and used his favourite agents. The tell tale signs were there, we jumped from one type of player to another. It was like there was more than one person picking out players. Like I said before, even Rice said we have two different teams playing. Moyes always said he wanted more pace in the side, wants West Ham to stop being flaky, toughen up a bit. Do these players do that, no. I lost count the conversations I had at the start of the season where people were saying something doesn't seem right, the manager and players body language was wrong, it was like they have given up at the start. I said at the time, Sullivan has run rough shot and brought his picks in, that's why heads have dropped, he done it with Pellegrini's first season, nett spend of £80m but 30m of that was spent by Sullivan. Moyes said he wanted to bring some help in for Rice & Soucek, the nearest we got to that was Onana. He also wanted help for Antonio 2 years ago and wanted Daka who went to Leicester and En-Nesyri, both different from Scammaca. So I keep asking myself why go from that style of player to a Haller type again Ay one point we wanted Paqueta or Piotr Zielinski of Napoli, again both different players. Agree Moyes needs to go but it's going to happen all over again while Sullivan is here, missed opportunity again."

Just look at how Villa have reacted to a new manager after getting shot of the inept Gerrard. We sit on our hands and wander off the cliff. Pathetic as usual

"I do enjoy reading how the injury to Aguerd has curtailed our season The guy must be paolo Maldini to make such a massive difference to our season I will be honest this May now be down to the board saving face slightly as the perfect time was the World Cup they gave him a chance and looks like nothing has changed. BUT if they sack him now they look completely inept at not getting rid of him before the World Cup""¶ I expect us to be humiliated in the next couple of games and him gone"

Our beginnings are from an Iron Works our footballing history is that of an Aluminium Works. Our current owners need to accept this as their legacy at the club. Anything they've achieved has been through chances given rather than chances made.

"Nice summary Alf and agree 100%. We've known for a number of seasons that this squad is about to hit the runway age-wise and needing replacements in key positions. The investment of last summer was very welcome but its not enough unfortunately. If they re planning to seel up then why wouldthey spend another 50-100 million ? I think theyre going to gamble on us staying up with what we've got. Moyes like Bilic had credit in the bank which has made it seem unfair to push him out too soon, but i thin kwe can all agree that the time has now passed to act on that front."

"I know there is the usual shenanigans on here about who said what and when and the interpretation of that. But I think we are unusually all agreed on what should happen now. Yes there will always be those who are more binary, less balanced but today even that is not relevant. He has made a complete pigs ear of the squad, half baked tactics and clueless , with Nevin, how to improve things. I've bored on with my opinion on other threads about lack of pace, pressing, wrong type of players bought and those bought not played or misused. Nothing has gone right for months. But !! I have to be brutally honest :-) I admit I said give him until the WC ( after the first 5 games had gone so badly ) unless we start going into relegation territory. That unfortunately happened around the Palace game maybe slightly earlier. So being honest in retrospect there were many of you who saw the depth of his ineptitude far earlier than me. I was trying to be too loyal for the ""past""ù 2 seasons I suppose but it's true the problems really became apparent in Feb after the window had closed. We now return to the ongoing, underlying problem of ownership. GSBK cannot be faulted for supporting the manager financially but we just don't know what happens behind the scenes? Moyes and owners went out of their way to say Moyes, with Newmans help was fully responsible for all player recruitment, in and out? Was it a case of ""he doth protest too much""ù and Moyes just playing his part in a cover up because Sullivan still insists on making pints on players and using his agents as he has for 20+ years with us and Brum? Or was it true ? Who can put their hand on their heart and say they know? Either way, it's been a disaster !! Another net 70 or 80 million down the shitter if these blokes were put up for sale currently. We yet again face a fork in the road. History suggests that you have to replace a manager quickly when it goes tits up. Our history confirms the same. We now need to invest a tidy sum again imo just to survive. The manger and coaching team to pay off, a good manager brought in ( expensive) and 3 players of quality brought in to be sure our recovery and besides any new manager worth his salt would see the holes immediately at left back, striker extra pace and quality in midfield to replace Soucek, Cresswell, Coufal, Antonio as first team choices and provide better back up. Hence why they ( Sullivan ) will up the risk and leave it very late and likely too late. IMO of course :-)"

"nychammer, Yep and not disputing that our league form in 2022 has been awful and Moyes need to be held accountable and lose his job because of that. As you mentioned with Bilic, he came unstuck badly after his first season and eventually deservedly lost his job after many called for him to go. Just because a lot of people justifiably wanted Bilic out because we were awful and getting smashed in a lot of games, does that mean we should also start rewriting history and start picking out negatives out of his 1st season as well and say because we eventually lost 2 out of our last 3 games and missed out on the top 5 then it was ultimately a failure?"

There is to much sentimentality going around for West Ham to be a top club both towards players and managers.
