I still refuse to believe that we we suffer another humiliating defeat to Leeds he won't be sacked. Not even this board could stick with him after 6 defeats and no daylight in sight Also after spending 180m on players then going cheap on a manager would be a ridic move. Moyes has brought this on himself by constantly playing soucek/cresswell in my eyes and not trying to change our play. You can only be unlucky for so long before it just becomes poor decisions.

The Redknapp years represented some kind of stability for us and he did serve up some decent football. I was lucky enough to be a STH for that period and there were more ups than downs in that time for me.

"From a West Ham supporters point of view the club has been up and down for years, even back to the Greenwood years, a case of one step forward and two steps back, never, ever progressing on an upward plane. A host of managers since Lyall that have a good start then fall off a cliff, Roeder, Pardew, Zola, Bilic and now Moyes. Managers that fell off a cliff since day one in Grant and Pellegrini and those that didn't go down but were dull to watch in Curbs and Allardyce. Having said that I can't see another club that's been on a steady plane for years and years. Man United fell apart after Fergie, until now Arsenal fans must have been wishing Wenger and his Champions League Qualification had stayed, Liverpool took years to bounce back and Chelsea and City are only where they are because of big money, and that will apply to Newcastle"

Reading elsewhere that Cresswell earns £53 k a week and his contract has been extended by 12 months. If this is accurate it's yet further evidence that both manager and board are totally incompetent.

"If we're looking at coaches for me it has to be Oliver Glasner at Frankfurt but he'd cost us and not sure he would see us as a step up, so if you want an out of contract coach then I'd look at AVB. I'd love to see a forward thinking manager like Glasner but he's not in the GSB coach identikit of old, experienced and a perceived safe pair of hands. Dyche it is then"

"Careful what we wish for? So what don't do anything and keep the Manager? Even if you can't trust the board, you would rather they kept Moyes than atleast have a try and see what they come up with? Let's be honest, even the easy choice in Bielsa would be a massive upgrade."

"I think Moyes has outstayed his welcome. Results dire, performances worse and atmosphere toxic. But I am left thinking careful what you wish for. Moyes is a symptom of something much more rancid in our club. Do you trust the current ownership to have a vision and strategy for the long term future of the club? I don't. Examine their record. Sack Zola for lack of experience, he kept us up. Bring in Grant for his experience. He took us down. They then flip flop between attack minded and defence minded coaches. Along with Grant they have treated us to Allardyce and Moyes as well as the hapless Pellegrini. They have also masterminded the most efficient transition of grounds in history according to Lady Knightsbridge. I would like to see Moyes go but I would prefer the dildo's to fuck off much more."

"Is this miserable rock faced cսnt still here ? He should have gone for the world cup break. Nothing has improved, and it never was. Absolute dead man walking. Another wasted opportunity on Wednesday to get a win. What other club dithers like ours in these matters?"

"All these stories about us talking to other managers, while at the same time giving Moyes one, two or three games to save his job, are really unhelpful. Our situation calls for decisiveness and leadership. When will they learn?"

"I'm sure Postecoglou has some talent. But with Celtic's budget and some half-decent players, you could win the Scottish league playing Graham Taylor's form of outmoded 4-4-2. It's not the best preparation for managing in the Premier League. It just isn't. We can do better than that."

"I wouldn't touch most Celtic (or Rangers) managers with a bargepole. Winning in Scotland is, quite genuinely, a pretty easy meal if you manage one of those two clubs - particularly Celtic. Neil Lennon looked great managing Celtic at times. It's a poor league outside that top two or three sides. It flatters very average managers."

A German fan on KUMB who got a bit right in the summer IIRC has said there's an offer on the table for Dave Wagner and talking to Tom Walter... Obviously have no idea if any truth in it.

"That need for a more progressive manager is why I sigh when I see some fans going on about appointing somebody like Benitez. Like Moyes, his time has largely passed. The reason he did the rapid rounds with the likes of Everton, Newcastle etc (six clubs in eight years) is because, like Moyes, he's trying to apply slightly outdated tactics to modernising leagues. Benitez's successful period was at Liverpool some 15 years ago - about the same time Moyes was doing well at Everton. Much has changed since - few fans in the 1980s were demanding managers who excelled in the mid-60s."

"I couldn't have been happier for him when he went back to spain and continued with his success in european competitions. the biggest barrier to ever getting such a coach is that vertically challenged cսnt that still owns the vlub, not a few fans on a message board"

"To stress that point...Moyes, for example, seems incapable of making even basic changes that will allow us to counter/cope with the really basic high-press tactics that almost every club in the Premier League now deploys. Moyes is still trying to ""run"" our players through a high-press (Soucek etc), rather than realise that you have to drop passers deep (or have defenders who are good on the ball) and play through it before you can gain the space and time to build attacks."
