Moyes Out ( Released )
"Posted the same last year. Nothing has changed, except win don't win matches anymore. I'm fed up, we can do much better"
Re: Moyes Out
"Charoo, I watched that Palace game. It was 2 weeks after beating Man Utd. Pundits were predicting a top 4 finish for us. Then we got thrashed at Oxford in the League Cup, and the wheels came off. We were outplayed by Palace over the 90 minutes, despite taking the lead through a well-worked Haller goal. There was no fight in us though. Perhaps Pellegrini did throw in the towel - but considering how well we had been doing till then, I'm not too sure. We're in a very similar situation now though - that's for sure."
Re: Moyes Out
"Fraser ""Apparently we've made 267 crosses from open play, the most in the league. Scored 0 goals from them.."" Reminds me of that Burnley game when moyes first came back. The Burnley defenders cleared everything with ease.... but with no plan b, they kept on crossing the ball to absolutely no avail"
Re: Moyes Out
"Westside That makes sense, that Pozzo at Watford retains holdings in Udinese and did another in Spain iirc Also that fat Greek type at Forest, does he not own Olympiacos?"
Re: Moyes Out
"Doesn't Kretinsky have to sell some of his shares in Sparta Prague before he can buy any more in West Ham, as I thought he was at the limit of what he could own (as anymore more and he would fall foul of ownership of multiple club rules)? Not necessarily. Under UEFA competition rules, one person, or company, may not have control of, or influence two clubs, that are competing in the same competition, at the same time. UEFA defines control/influence as 50.1% ownership (Premier League, for its rules 30%). There is also UEFA rules about ""decisive influence,"" without references to ownership percentages. Kretinsky, purportedly owns 40% of Sparta Prague. If this is true, not a problem, for the UEFA rules, on ownership. To say nothing of our unlikely future participation, in European football."

"For those who are suggesting Danny Cowle, I was just chatting to a MATE who is a big Wednesday fam, and the first words that came out of his mouth were LONG BALL MERCHANT. Are people suggesting him just because he supports us?"

Re: Moyes Out
"I mean zouma has played in a lot of the games this season and made little difference I still believe it's about us creeping into the bottom 3 , happened with biblical and pelligrini it changes the whole complexion. Obv doesn't mean we are going to go out and get a decent manager although the press noises may be smoke and mirrors""¶."
Re: Moyes Out
"I believe that's true, but reports also suggest that Kretinsky's isn't interested in buying the club and owning it outright, either. I don't know what is or isn't true. What I do know is the owners seem to be playing Russian Roulette with the clubs league status sticking with a manager with 11 league wins in a calendar year."

"Maybe they're hoping on a Zouma, Aguerd partnership to stiffen us up. Emerson has to be a better option than Creswell now. Fuck knows where the goals are coming from though."

Re: Moyes Out
"But haven't GS signed an option allowing Kretinsky to buy the club this summer should he meet a pre-agreed price (the value of which puts us at something like £580m)? To that extent, it's in Kretinsky's hands as much as theirs. If he meets the valuation, I think legally it triggers a sale. If all of that is true - and it has been widely reported by various media - then Kretinsky effectively controls that process more than GS, even as the current minority shareholder."
Re: Moyes Out
"COYI - I think Pellegrini actually tried to get sacked as didn't want to work with GSB. That season we could have gone third with a home win to Palace, we fucked it up and Fabianski got injured. We then persisted with the hapless Roberto in goal who cost us game after game after game. I think there was something behind the scenes that went on that made Pellegrini keep playing the way he did and sticking with Roberto."
Re: Moyes Out
"They don't want to pay out his contract and have the expense of hiring a new manager and furnishing him with transfer funds. Why not? Relegation would scupper, an already agreed sale (option) price. Money out the bank doesn't affect that price."

Re: Moyes Out
"Coming in to a new team for a relegation battle is way different to fixing your own team when they aren't going well. The reality is this is HIS team, his choices, his planning .. and its got to this current state. Thats the problem. He's brought his ""A-game"" to the 3rd season and this is what his thought process and skills have brought him. Which is probably why he looks shell shocked and bemused. Because he cant understand why his meticulous plans are not working. What scares me a bit is at Sunderland he seemed to have a whole year to get something working and he didnt. And yes, he did save us from relegation twice but it took a while to get his fix in. I do wonder if we literally have the time to let him work it out? He's sort of naturally slow to change things. My bet is that he could keep us up. But I think that would be at a detriment to his career and our club as in his 3rd year he should be playing excellent football. And he won't be in a relegation scrap. Which won't do him or us any good next season. We'd just be going backwards."

Re: Moyes Out
"We have become so easy to play against, it all looks very predictable and when the other teams in possession and bearing down on our penalty area we are fearing the worse even more nowadays. We started off quite well against Brentford, but when there was no end product in those first 20 minutes the short lived belief quickly went from us. We seemed to have become quite weak mentally, the belief from 18 months to two years ago that stood us in good stead has gone, just when Antonio lost that form. Even though we still lost, only in the last 20 against Man U at the end of October we did see something that gave us hope for future performances. Our defence was strong (with Zouma) and we actually had energy in us in the final third of the game. Could be of course that Man U weren't firing on most cylinders then and were going through change themselves, but we had a go and should have taken confidence from that into the next league game, but we didn't and lost at home to Palace. We are so fragile at the moment. Sure there must be and usually is another couple of teams in the same boat at this time. Often we see managers come in and turn things around, sometimes they can't. It's a bit of a gamble to change. But, from the evidence we see now is it more of a gamble to hope for things to change? I have enjoyed watching the club play under Moyes 18 months to 2 years ago. But we are on a downward trajectory now and have been for some time. You have to make your own luck sometimes, but if left alone feel we aren't going to get out of this mess. Seems crazy as well that Arsenal are the only team to put 3 past us, so at the same time results suggest just a bit of tweaking may do the job. A new manager may not have to do too much to put things right."

Re: Moyes Out
"The Leeds game is one of the biggest in our recent Premier League history - whether the press realise it or not. If we lose, and they don't sack Moyes then I genuinely think we there is a strong chance (i.e. more than 50% chance) we will be relegated. Because it will just be more of the same for the remainder of the season - and Moyes has been royally found out. At the moment, beating us is like taking candy from babies. Tactically, word has got round. When Crystal Palace turned up at the London Stadium and beat us 2-0 at a canter - barely getting out of first gear - then we all knew the game was up. I just hope Kretinsky acts if we lose to Leeds. He could be key: if he threatens not to buy a Championship club then even Sullivan might finally do something about this mess."
Re: Moyes Out
They don't want to pay out his contract and have the expense of hiring a new manager and furnishing him with transfer funds (unless they can find someone who'll come in for peanuts and work with what we have) Gambling on moyes is very risky indeed. I've looked at the fixture list and based on how we play currently we don't have the points to stay up.
Re: Moyes Out
"They think he can ride this out and keep us in the Premier League because he's done it before. There is huge difference, joining a club to save them from relegation, than trying get your current side out of relegation. When you join as manager you can put your stamp on the side, in terms of selection, training, tactics and possibly player purchase (depending on the time of year). I get the feeling Moyes has played all his cards as our manager, in terms of getting up the table and has nothing left in the hole. Unless somehow, he get's a very lucky hand."

Re: Moyes Out
"What I find puzzling is the easy ride he gets from TV interviews, the last one I saw after the Brentford defeat, think it was a women on BBC. She was clearly nervous and didn't want to upset him and let him get away with his we played well bollocks. Maybe the written press give him a harder time but he does come across as a bit of a bully. If he was a politician we would be torn to pieces in interviews."

Re: Moyes Out
"COYI - bit harsh to say there has been zero progress: we had two good seasons under Moyes. But he's been rumbled - all managers are eventually, with only a few exceptions across those who stay on top of tactical changes (Ferguson, Pep etc). It just happened very quickly with Moyes because he was relying on a well-honed version of hard-running 20th Century tactics. The high-press has killed him/us."
