"Dyche is a hundred times better at man management than Moyes which is what our squad need at the moment, comes across as an honest no nonsense man. Benitez would probably command more instant respect for what he's achieved, albeit a while ago. Both better than Moyes in different ways and not sure I'd want either on a long contract, but we're once again, surprisingly between the devil and the deep. Think I'd probably go for Dyche just. We ain't gonna get a marquee manager until our shits sorted after March. Can't afford to do nothing. Only at West Ham."

Fonseca's Roma were one of the worst teams I've ever seen.

Dyche is a dinosaur? How exactly He worked fucking wonders at Burnley on an absolute shoestring budget He talks a good game Dyche and to be fair. No one has really given him a chance to really shine. Ok he went to Watford for a few months but let's be honest Watford are the biggest laughing stock when it comes to managerial appointments and getting sacked there is more inevitable than death and paying tax (unless your name is Nadhim Zahari)

I agree that Benítez is a bit long in the tooth and his mojo isn't what it was. He did win lots of trophies though so he can certainly refer to himself as a winner without embarrassing himself like Gollum

Some of you can't tolerate Benitez for 4 months to give us a chance to stop this slide out of the league?

I agree that Benitez has shown like Moyes that he hasn't progressed and isn't able to adapt. He'd be an improvement on Moyes for remainder of season but that's not saying much. I hate to say it but I'd take Dyche at this stage of people who we realistically could get. For 6 months.

"Rafa is a massive no from me - just another dinosaur who hasnt been relevant since 2010. his recent record is poor, his style of football is ugly. he's just Moyes mk2."

"We don't scout managers is my guess. As mentioned, Sullivan will use his sycophantic agents who have managers on their books. Or in this case, he will have Rafa's number as he was about to join a few years back until Madrid came calling"

Who will be scouting new managers? Most other clubs will let their sports director / director of football do it and then owner / chairman makes final call This is a huge gap for club of our size.

"I reckon Moyes gets Saturday, maybe another one after that if we were to win (Derby) but Benitez is all but done, but not until the transfer window is shut, so no money available for transfers, but a nice bonus offered for keeping us up. It's how Sullivan rolls. And it's fucking depressing."

"benitez did a very steve bruce job at newcastle. went down with them, got them out of the championship then had a fairly average season (that steve bruce himself matched almost identically the season after) playing utility football the whole time. the only thing he has going for him is that he isn't david moyes."

Sullivan should have nothing to do with any managerial appointment. Kretinsky and golds son in law should pull all the stops out to prevent it .

I'm really surprised at people turning their noses up at Benitez. OK he wouldn't be my first choice but he does have a huge pedigree of winning. He did well at Newcastle when they were shit and took them as far as he could. Everton was a bad choice and was never going to get acceptance after years of success at Liverpool. Compare Benitez's record to Moyes. You can count the European and cup successes on 2 hands or more. Moyes has won sweet FA. Benitez would be better long term than Dyche and both would be better than Moyes

"I don't see what Benitez can offer over and above what Moyes does. I know a lot just have the view of ""anyone but Moyes"" but at this stage, I am not sure. If Moyes hasn't yet lost the players and you bring in the likes of Benitez why would they respond any better to him. His tactics won't be any more exciting and could be worse. Many of the existing players will have get-out clauses if we get relegated so why bust a gut for Benitez? At least they might just currently have some allegiance to Moyes. At present from what I have read Moyes hasn't lost the players. Although I just read that Antonio has developed an ""attitude"" ( which may fit with rumours of offers from Wolves and Chelsea). We know that Dawson wants out but nothing to suggest he is pissed off with Moyes. Anyway, I guess if we lose at the weekend Moyes will be gone but I for one don't want Benitez to come in."

"Problem is a lot of these managers that are modern, progressive, attacking etc that we all want would have to try to do that with a squad that are poor in possession and the slowest in the league to keep us up. The dogshit slow negative mindset that has been drummed into the squad for the last two seasons is the exact reason we'll end up with a turd like fucking Benitez. Even so, let's fucking bin this hopeless cսnt Moyes off and get the ball rolling for fucks sake. Even if we are replacing him with a shitter, whoever it is will be better than Moyes. Easily."

"As per Wiki: Foncesca At Shakhtar and Roma, Fonseca preferred a 4""ì2""ì3""ì1 formation and an emphasis on dominating possession. At both teams, the player behind the centre forward played as a second striker; Henrikh Mkhitaryan achieved 13 goals in 2020""ì21 from that position. Too attack minded for Tottingham apparently? So they went for Nuno. Decent spells at several clubs. For all the above reasons and unless he's on one of Sullys agent books we won't go or get him."

So betting on Benitez to take over suspended. Was v close to taking over a few years back and has excellent relationship with Sullivan. Geordies loved him. Toffee's hated him.
