It's always been the way - nobody can possibly have all the attributes needed so you delegate your weaknesses to those who can compensate for them. The most successful managers were never a Superman they just knew who to trust to make the whole thing work. What would Cloughie had been without Peter Taylor? Even nowadays Klopp readily admits that he doesn't have the answer to everything so he trusts others to bring something else to the table. Confidence and humility is the best combination. Moyes is insecure and resents giving anybody else the credit for when things are going well...then it's everybody else's fault when he runs out of juice.

LeroysBoots 10:33 Thu Feb 16 Whether we like to admit it or not there does exist an old boys club between certain British managers and journalists who cut their teeth together at the same time as football went through the stratosphere culturally and financially. The managers earnt more than they ever dreamed and a mere sports hack suddenly started getting paid the kind of salary their predecessors earned over their entire working life. So they certainly scratch each others backs by ghost writing biographies in return for going easy on them in the press when things are not going to plan. Mutual appreciation society innit?

I don't think he will hold any grudges against the club (should he go) as he will always bang on about how he saved us and took us into Europe. That alone will be his selling point to any future clubs he interviews for, so I can't imagine he will be wanting us to go down, as no manager wants a relegation on their resume. However, if he knows he is going (as if he knew he was staying on, surely they would have entered into contract negotiations by now?) then he probably isn't that motivated to push us further, maybe perhaps the European comp? But if he doesn't know about his future yet, surely he will want to do his upmost to improve us this year and push us up the table. But as we all know, the football has been shit and we are more likely to go down then up the league based on his current tactics and squad selection."
