Moyes Out ( Released )
"Posted the same last year. Nothing has changed, except win don't win matches anymore. I'm fed up, we can do much better"
Re: Moyes Out
Can only put it down to the dwarf wants to go down and receive parachute payments with a nice big razzle dazzle fire sale of players
Re: Moyes Out
"Yeah, his win % was less than 32% in his 2 PL seasons at Newcastle, and obviously bigger clubs will win more whoever the manager is. In any case, when people are comparing him with Moyes it's personality and style of football that's similar, not club history."
Re: Moyes Out
"So the most likely replacement for Moyes is Benitez and you're already rejecting him! And let's be honest here. Our squad is a good squad. 2 international goalkeepers, 6 international defenders. 6 international midfielders. 5 international forwards. The problem is the managers inability to get them to play like internationals. I'll welcome anyone as manager as long as it gets shot of Moyes tbh..."
Re: Moyes Out
"I think it's wishful thinking that Sullivan will replace him. Everything the same, still saying he has credit in the bank and encouraged by only losing one in the last 5 or 6 games. The Conference cup results also really not helping. Sullivan sees that as razzle dazzle. We're fvcked with our owners. Rarely are they decisive and Sullivan has no idea about football. He's been duped by Moyes but mostly I think, and others mentioned, Moyes has brown nosed him all the way, taken the flak for things if needed, kept quiet about who is buying players etc and always said what great owners and backing he has. We're going down because it will take 3 or more successive losses and we will get a draw, confirmation bias will come to the fore for Sullivan and allow him to stick with the only manager that has done exactly what he has been told"

Re: Moyes Out
"nychammer 4:19 Tue Feb 21 Well, if you are going with the surgical perspective, I would say your right. But, then again, the more this goes on the more I begin to wonder what's more dangerous. The cancer or the surgeon who refuses to cut it out. Sullivan is the main culprit here. Moyes is dogshit. He's lost whatever redeeming qualities he had to pull off the last two seasons. There is now no way of him clawing this back. He's lost the players respect and they are now vocally (Antonio and Rice) and cryptically (Lanzini, Areola, Benrahma) digging Moyes and his tactics out. Yet, Sullivan continues to allow this shambles to continue. Unfairly on Moyes who now looks like he needs putting out his misery and also unfairly on the fans who are having to deal with this situation. Nothing to cheer about and nothing to be happy about. And our owner just sits and watches. It's professional incompetence at the highest level."
Re: Moyes Out
Please stop saying Benitez is a Moyes type manager because he's not. For a start he knows how to win things. Just look at his win percentages at various clubs bearing in mind that in teh last year Moyes has dropped to 26.9%. Valencia - 54.3% Liverpool - 55.4% Inter Milan - 48% Chelsea - 58.3% Napoli - 58.7% Real Madrid 68% Newcastle - 42.5% China & Everton were down in the 31.6 and 31.8% marks but Everton were a penniless basket case and China I don't know. It's possible that he has lost his skill at managing but unlike Moyes he has won lots of cups and European trophies with top clubs that usually are not at their peaks or were basket cases. Benitez had a reputation for being a hard man to please like Moyes but it ends there. He rotated players and made game winning substitutions. He changed Liverpool's youth set up to bring more players through and so on. I'm like many on here that believe any change from Moyes is now needed but to say Moyes and Benitez are much alike is missing the point. Moyes wins nothing. Benitez has made a habit of it through his career. If he is picked he hopefully will reignite the spark Moyes has extinguished .

Re: Moyes Out
"Nagel 11:03 Tue Feb 21 Re: Moyes Out stewie, that's a somewhat shit-tinted view of it though. it is, because i can't stand him, but it doesn't make it any less true. I think, if you bring in a new manager with 10 games left, one point from safety with a game in hand, with games to come against your 3 relegation rivals, you'd struggle convince anyone that someone had done a decent job getting relegated with a game to spare having failed to win any of those 3 games, regardless of a wholly irrelevant 5-1 win against Spurs on the final day when you were already down. The truth, as ever, is probably somewhere in the middle. Besides all of that, he was also an abject failure in his most recent managerial gigs in China and at Everton - we should really have learned from previous mistakes about taking people have retired by moving to the Chinese league to take the money. Still, as i said, I'd take absolutely anyone over Moyes right now, so if its him, I'm all in."

Re: Moyes Out
happygilmore 11:04 Tue Feb 21 ''BENITEZ is not going to accept a short-term contract till season end with anyone'' Totally disagree. He's sitting around doing fuck all and if a PL club offered him a gig he would take it regardless of the length. And we all know a short term deal can lead to longer ones if the manager does well.
Re: Moyes Out
"Objectively Rafa is a better manager than Moyes. One has won several top-tier trophies, the other has one a division 2 play-off. Irrespective of Bentiez past glories, he's not the short, medium, or long-term solution and neither is Fat Sam, O'Neill, Redknapp or the ghost of Ron Greenwood. We need a young manager who understands the modern game, is adaptable and ambitious."

Re: Moyes Out
"ED - Yea was hearing the other day that Benitez builds his sides around fast wingers. Fwiw, and it's no more than a hunch, but I'm not so sure Sullivan would go for Benitez now, if he was that keen on him I'd wonder why he hasn't done it already while he's available. I don't think Sullivan is in a hurry to sell but like in any business if a big offer come in I'm quite sure he would look at it, even more so if it all become very public as fan pressure and doing the right thing for the club etc then becomes a big thing, he really wouldn't have much choice but to sell. But that's an argument for another day really."
Re: Moyes Out
"He went on a 6 game unbeaten run at the end of that season and onl failed to stay up coz Sunderland, led by fat Sam, went on a stupid run and piped them. He stayed with Newcastle and got them up. Anyone who think Moyes is a better manager than rafa is not thinking."

Re: Moyes Out
"BENITEZ is not going to accept a short-term contract till season end with anyone. So replacing a negative manager with an ultra negative one, would be short sighted, in fact utter madness. ."
Re: Moyes Out
"stewie, that's a somewhat shit-tinted view of it though. The Sunderland and Norwich games came when he'd only been there a short while. In those last 6 games Newcastle also drew against Liverpool and Man City and thrashed Spurs 5-1 and I doubt that many would have expected any points from those games."
Re: Moyes Out
"year on year - apathy gets stronger. we all know we have a good solid core but percentage wise year on year, the supporters drive for protest weakens, sadly. this ain't about two wins on the spin ... we have a negative, outdated, deluded manager. prem results are a complete joke for over a year, with a few europa sprinkles along the way as distraction. this cսnt is now avram 2 and SG worry just about skimming and a few bob extra making change. corporate and all regulars would have been in SB ear for a year and nothing changed and yet again, we are a fucking laughing stock. seemingly, the other investor input is minimal at best. you couldn't make it up really... it's a shambles from board room to dressing room"

Re: Moyes Out
"I'd have Allardyce over Moyes at this point ffs But yeah, Benitez over Moyes obviously, but how fucking predicted. A point on that is hasn't he always played with really fast wingers, and made that the focal point of his teams? He'd be taking over the slowest squad in the league. It will 100% be him though. Even if Moyes stayed, kept us up and left in the summer, it'll still be Benitez. In fact, if we do go down, I still reckon he'll be out next manager. I don't think Sullivan has any intention of selling the club, for the record. How depressing."

Re: Moyes Out
"""At Newcastle he came in with 10 games to go and would likely have kept them up if he'd been appointed earlier, as they got 12 points in their last 6 games."" That's a somewhat rose-tinted view of it... when he arrived they were one point off safety, with a game in hand, and games to come against Villa (one of the worst teams in premier league history), Norwich & Sunderland - who were their relegation rivals. They failed to win any of those 3 games and were relegated with a game to spare."

Re: Moyes Out
"Yes, Benitez is not an ideal candidate. But if the choice is between keeping Moyes and bringing in Benitez, which is likely to be the only realistic choice given Sullivan's modus operandi, then I would favour taking punt, rolling the dice and seeing what Benitez can do. I don't see us winning at least 5 games out of the remaining 13 to stay up under Moyes. We are in a death spiral under him and have been since before the World Cup."
