"Come On You Irons 1:19 Tue Feb 21 Re: Moyes Out OK mate. Maybe if you had of stated ""if we were to lose"" as opposed to ""assuming"" it would have been clearer. Or maybe that is just my bad English. Goose, So because someone has lost to a team before they should expect to lose to them next time out? Anyway, I just think Forest are equally shit, don't manage much in the way of shots on target, don't know their best 11 ...therefore for me, the outcome of this one isn't so predictable."

"The INEPT ITALIAN got 35 points, Grant got 33, how many do people think we'll get this season? And at least those two clowns didn't spend £200 million to reach their levels of incompetence. It's quite some feat Moyes is achieving."

I've just heard Gonzo say that Sullivan keeps getting rejected for managers. Benitez and Bielsa want a 3.5 year contract that Sullivan won't agree to. Only wants a 6 month rescue package which is why they issued the 100% backing for Moyes statement. That kind of suggests Tim Sherwood might be a good shout

Serious question, why would you assume we will lose to Forest? ___ I'm not assuming we will lose to them. I actually think we will beat them or get a draw at least and so Moyes will linger on. The assumption was for the scenario of a new manager coming in for the 12 remaining games, as losing to Forest is looking like the only way Moyes will be fired and replaced at this rate."

"If Benitez is interested I would get him in after Forest game even if Moyes gets a scrappy win like he did v Everton. We are going down with Moyes. We aren't going to get a Pochettino type and Sullivan won't gamble on a young progressive manager. Benitez is about the best we can get with the dwarf pulling the strings, at least he has won things and if we go down he knows what to do in the Championship bringing the barcodes straight back up."

"""Serious question, why would you assume we will lose to Forest?"" because we lost to them last time? or because they are in much better form than we are? or because we struggle to get a shot on target let alone score a goal?"

"One thing for sure is Benitez is a winner, or at least was. I know you can't dine out on past glories, but there is no denying what he has achieved in football . Moyes most certainly is not a winner, despite what he might like to try and tell us."

"We need rid of Moyes urgently but we also do not need Benitez looking at West Ham as his new toy project. I can already see the excuses he comes out with. Was a decent manager in his day but his Newcastle appointment should be warning enough. Warburton and Noble would be my choice. They don't need to work miracles. Just make a few tweaks and get the boys up and firing again without Moyes being the black cloud over everything. In the meantime, we then have time to tap up our new manager,"

Actually just thinking it through and it occurs to me that Noble's loyalty to Moyes means him supporting him with the board. I hope that's not what is stopping them from firing Moyes..

I agree with most on here that it's a chronic choice but anyone over Moyes will get my initial support. Not that that means much. I'd be happy with Benitez because he would give us a lift I'm sure. That doesn't mean he's my choice. I think he's another yesterday's man but we know that Sullivan has repeatedly said he wanted managers with PL experience rather than take a chance on inexperience. At this stage I'd be happy with Noble and Warburton tbh...

5/1 is great value. I wish I was one of these people that can allow themselves to bet on/against their team.

"Fuck me this thread is grim reading, we certainly look down in my opinion. We either keep Moyes in which we are definitely gone or we end up with Benitez? Is Benitez going to get a tune out of our lot? We need someone who can sort us out attacking wise. Soton and Everton both look to have a manager who can give them a bounce. Leeds bloke might get some wins, they signed some decent players in January. We are still 5/1 on the exchanges, higher odds than Everton Wolves and Forest. If i was neutral i think thats worth a punt and cracking value"

"Sully, not sure how much of a flop Gracia was at Watford. In his one full season there they finished 11th and got to the FA cup final. The next season he was sacked after just 4 games and they got relegated anyway. I don't think it's a definite that Leeds are down now because of his appointment."

"After Forest we will have 12 games left. Brighton (Away) Aston Villa (Home) Man City (Away) Southampton (Home) Fulham (Away) Arsenal (Home) Bournemouth (Away) Liverpool (Home) Crystal Palace (Away) Man Utd (Home) Brentford (Away) Leeds (Home) Leicester (Away) Assuming we lose to Forest and a new manager comes in (the only way a new manager would come in at this stage), they will have those 12 games to get 18-20 points. Arguably it would be a lost cause already. But I suppose we have a chance to win six of them (Southampton, Leeds, Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Fulham, Crystal Palace I suppose are the most realistic). I can't see us doing it though. We are already down in my opinion as Sullivan has dithered too long in firing the dour, loser, jock dinosaur."

"On a brighter note, Leeds have appointed the ex Watford flop Javi Gracia. That is good news for us and a very underwhelming appointment for them. All those big (ish) names they were linked with and they end up with a Watford flop. So that is one team already gone. Just need to be better than the other two going down."

The only way Moyes goes is if there's a big reaction from the crowd on Saturday. I honestly don't think the present day West Ham supporters have got it in them to show their disdain at the board and team. If and when we're losing on Saturday rather than show their disgust at proceedings the ground empties in no time. At the end of Sundays game our away support we're actually clapping the players just by doing that Sullivan gets an easy ride.

"If Benitez comes in after Forest with what 14 games left, he will most likely keep us up, but I was hearing some bods on TS the other day saying the days of the firefighter coming in and saving clubs are now bygone days, hence why BFS and Pulis etc are not getting offers any longer? Benitez is more of a project manager, not sure he is a short fix answer, but again it may just depend on how many games are left and who against. IMO he would be a risk, but I suppose anyone would be right now."

"Lee, that is a worry. Rafa apparently wants a long term project. Ironically, he'd probably get more time with us if we were relegated than if he kept us up, as long as it was a close run thing."

Benitez seems a very similar style. We need a modern thinking manager for the long term but what's the point when the owner is hopeless and stuck in a time loop 40 years ago in his thinking and a control freak. No crumbs of comfort anywhere. No signs of hope. No manager candidates even identified

"Benitez would be right down at the bottom of my list of replacements. I'd probably prefer to keep the coaching staff (the ones Moyes doesn't listen to and ignores) here in charge over him in all honesty. Most of them have managed a team before. But it's literally anyone but Moyes at the moment, so I'd gladly send a taxi for Benitez. My worry with Benitez, is that if/when we get relegated, Sullivan might see him as the man to lead us in the Championship and he's here for longer."

"It not great that Benitez is the only viable choice with the dwarf, but it was pretty inevitable. Bit like the choice between being shot or stabbed. But we need a change of ideas and a look lift and a bit of passion from the sidelines. Benitez might just provide that. Time to get rid of the iPad crew alongside Moyes, who offer next to fuck all too."
