Moyes Out ( Released )
"Posted the same last year. Nothing has changed, except win don't win matches anymore. I'm fed up, we can do much better"
Re: Moyes Out
"This claim that ""changing managers is an expensive gamble"". If we unpack that: Whatever he does is a 'gamble' from Premier League safety perspective. No one guarantees it. Sacking Moyes = that gamble plus a 10-15m commitment (pay offs, new hire, commitment to their contracts with backroom staff etc). Keeping Moyes = that gamble but without the 10-15m commitment. So fundamentally this can't come down to anything but the 10-15m commitment that comes from sacking Moyes. Everything else is a gamble at this point. Means the only thing it can come down to now is the point in time that Moyes is considered by Sullivan as wholly untenable. Which can only happen in two ways: 1. open revolt by the players. 2. The fans making it so consistently toxic that he has no option to act. In both those situations....Moyes is no longer a 'gamble' for survival but a certainty of relegation. At that point gambling on survival versus relegation certainty makes the 'logical' decision to spend the 10-15m. But I think that sums up his viewpoint...all managerial change is a gamble. It hasn't really helped Southampton, Bournemouth and as of now Everton. It has seemingly helped Wolves, and may help Leeds. Without (from his perspective) a stellar candidate that is viewed as desirable longer term, like a Pochettino, (and not a short term punt that comes with an undesirable long term contract commitment like a Benitez), then he views the gamble of us limping over the line with Moyes no greater than the gamble of us limping over the line with another bloke at the helm. He's probably also thinking if he brings someone in on an 18 month contract, he's gonna have to bankroll them in the Summer, probably get rid at some point mid next season and the whole thing goes again. I'd expect if we were all offered (at this point) 17th place with Moyes, Moyes sacked on end of season + 1 day, and a new guy in place for the start of next season (lets for argument sake say Carrick, Kompany, Potter or Poch) properly backed, versus a short-termist hire now (lets say Benitez), 17th place, and then lumbered with them for another 12 months, we'd probably take the former. So it all comes down to what makes Sullivan reach the point of deciding Moyes is totally untenable to the point that he guarantees relegation, versus the gamble of someone else maybe avoiding it and the legacy that that appointment will bring along with the 10-15m commitment. Can't stand the bloke. Clearly should have made this call a LONG time ago so that the above weren't the factors and it was a strategic decision to appoint someone better, not a tactical one, but given the current situation I can kind of see the logic he's wrestling with currently."

Re: Moyes Out
"So Sullivan's plan is to get us relegated, pick up Gold's shares for a discounted price and get us promoted, and then sell for more money? Don't buy it. First why would Gold's family sell after relegation? They are silent partners and creaming off interest presumably as part of the set up. It's no hassle for them to have the shares, really. It's a nice little investment for the family with little effort. Secondly, I don;t put it past Sullivan to try and fuck over the Gold family, but anything he might save in acquiring shares post relegation would likely be more than offset in huge losses on most of the playing squad when they eave, and spending a shitload on replacing them with players who can get us back up again. It'll cost him far more thn he saves. There is no way Sullivan wants us to go down, which make this all the more baffling. Unless he asset strips and takes all the money for himself and runs, but then what idiot would buy the club for anyhting less than a tiny price under those circumstances? It's in his interests for the clubs value to be as high as possible at the point of sale so it's hard to fathom why he's not doing anything unless transfer of shares to Kretinsky is irreversibly locked in for about three weeks time and he's just leaving this mess to be sorted out by him. None of this really makes sense whichever way you try to carve it up. Us being relegated is in no way good for Sullivan and it won't make him any more money."

Let's just say he's in mourning for his friend and is having trouble focusing on operational matters ;)

Re: Moyes Out
"What a horrible notion! I guess we'll soon find out then. However, a move so detrimental to the club would be impossible to conceal. The stink would be national as it would be blatant carpetbagging - he would have to sell up once relegated and therefore at a massive discount. Nah."
Re: Moyes Out
That's what I fear but if the Gold family do sell to DS he will have a comfortable majority holding of around 65% of a London club that in a couple of years will be worth as much as £1bn or even £1.5bn for his boys and fancy tart...

Re: Moyes Out
"Sullivan is being challenged to take a financial hit and admit he was wrong to put his faith in Moyes. At the moment, he is still hoping the challenge will just go away. However, it is clear Moyes has no faith in his players and the players have no respect for him so it won't go away and Sullivan will have to act. We lose on Thursday and that's it."

Re: Moyes Out
"stewie griffin 9:22 Oh absolutely- Moyes has been given every opportunity, and this is not to try and defend him, but ultimately the buck stops with Sullivan and if we can all see disaster coming over the hill then he should as well, so why isn't he doing anything about it? If you buy your chauffer a new high performance car and he's unable to drive it adequately and looks like he's going to crash it every time he takes you out, you shouldn't wait until he actually crashes it before you replace him with someone who can handle it. The power is in Sullivan's hands to change it and for whatever reason he's just sitting on them. It makes him just as culpable as Moyes for this continuing mess."

Re: Moyes Out
"Huffers 9:28 Mon Mar 6 Re: Moyes Out Yeah he came marching out to the edge of his technical area and stared at the fans. Shame he didn't come another 60 yards, the fucking prick. Anyway, hopefully we give him some stick in Cyprus. Even better if someone can get hold of his passport and throw it in the sea. ___ I can't claim to be a loyal away supporter (I'm 'merely' a long time home season ticket holder), but thank goodness the away supporters are finally turning on Moyes. I love our away supporters, but until recently (the Derby cup game I think) they were still singing that cringey ""Super David Moyes"" song, which I have never had and never sung. This is probably why Moyes was so tetchy on Saturday as he must have still had the impression the support, particularly the loyal away support, still backed him. I am pleased to see the penny has finally dropped to the away supporters that this clown needs outing."

"Hope the scousers appreciate the effort we put in to wear manu down!! What a joke we have become, not turned up for the last TWO matches (plus most of the season) and still we suffer from an inept and disinterested board plus a useless, incapable manager."

Re: Moyes Out
"I don't subscribe to this ""Don't sack Moyes without a replacement' angle. Moyes is like a gangrenous foot. He needs cutting off immediately in order to save the whole body. You don't see surgeons saying ""Leave the foot on until we get a prosthetic leg ready"". No, they chop off the diseased foot, bandage it up and then let the body recover. A prosthetic leg comes later."
Re: Moyes Out
"What took them so long? Relegation, or the threat of, was obvious to me following last season."
Re: Moyes Out
Feels like no going back now for the fans. We want him out and it will get ugly with chants against the manager and the board. I suspect a few banners etc may start to be unveiled in next few games I completely back the message but the sad thing is its rare teams pick up points when there is this much level of discontent
Re: Moyes Out
The chants should start before the game has even started. When he comes out to watch the players warm up.

Re: Moyes Out
"the way the club is run is appalling, unprofessional and generally sub standard, and the example you cite is one of many reasons why....but it's all whataboutery in the context of Moyes. He is a cancerous presence and a complete failure."
Re: Moyes Out
"It all depends on how we do in Cyprus because it's hard to chant Moyes out when we're winning. If we struggle it's far more likely to happen. Interesting news from goose's reading of The Sun. DS has first option on the Gold family shares and Kretinsky only 2nd option. Hopefully DS has had enough and Kretinsky is keen to have a majority holding. Not sure it's any more than wishful thinking at this stage but we might be better to start chanting 'Sullivan Out' in Cyprus. stewie griffin is right about the financial backing given by the board in recent times but WHU under DS lacks any strategic plans and because of his incompetence, will only ever select a PL experienced manager. That means they have failed somewhere else..."

Re: Moyes Out
"El Scorchio 10:21 Sun Mar 5 Re: Moyes Out Of course, but again, don't let dislike if sullivan excuse the job moyes has done. This season he's had the easiest job of any west ham manager ever. There's been no interference(until he jumped in to signs ings), there's been a stack of investment in the playing squad. Zola, grant and even Roeder were victims of a failure to invest in the playing squad. That hasn't happened here and there no excuses, none at all, for what moyes is delivering"
Re: Moyes Out
"I saw Gonzos report about Moyes doing a ""Stare off "" at our fans behind the Brighton goal when they were 3 up and peppering Areola ( who was one player who was ok aside possibly for the last goal ? ) Anyway, that signals he is close to the end. We may well go a goal down against Villa and tge in form Ollie Watkins ( pace and pressing are our kryptonite ) and the LS will finally turn on him I think ?"

Re: Moyes Out
Can't believe I've just read that we have no good youngsters. Seen the league table and we're also in the last 4 of the fa youth cup .in an absolute grim season that's the biggest glimmer of hope . Obviously Moyes would never pick them but luckily for them he won't be around much longer .

Re: Moyes Out
"If Sullivan had any decency- or love for the club like he claims- he would put us all out of this misery. It's all on him now. We all know Moyes isn't the man for the job, The owner needs to stop worrying about a tiny dent in his VAST fucking billionaire fortune and do the right thing for the sake of the club. Moyes isn't going to walk and why would he? He's not a fan of the club and in his mind he will think he can turn it around (he's wrong, but he will think that) plus he's not going to turn his back on the wages/payout. Name me barely any managers who have done the decent thing. Pretty short fucking list. Sullivan's inaction is inextricably linked to Moyes staying, and will take us down now."
Re: Moyes Out
To summeriss if Moyes had any decency he should shut the fuck up and walk minted. This odd perculiar cսnt now decides to have a dig at us fans.. He's times up fuck off now bafore it gets nasty.
