Re: Moyes Out
"BillyJenningsBoots 4:02 Wed Mar 8 Yep, a shrewd Lingard type loan of a player looking to show their worth I'm sure would have got him that extra win or two he needed. But instead he blames the owner for not rewarding him.....between the pair of them we are fucked."

Re: Moyes Out
"BFS is a funny one Hideous, awful football. Disrespectful, cold sore-ridden prick. But the players absolutely loved him. Apparently just about the best man manager out there."
Re: Moyes Out
"Sad thing is BFS would keep us up and probably win the European. Right now I would give it to Nolan or take Biesla on an 18 month deal if he would take it. Get relegated and let him see if he could get us back up. That being said, there are about 4/5 out of contract managers that would take it and be an improvement."

Re: Moyes Out
So if Sully offered him a top 6 bonus why the hell didn't Moyes insist on getting a new striker in last January to help bolster his chances of getting his bonus. Wouldn't you if given the chance - so if he didn't does that mean there was no chance of getting any signings in Jan last year or Moyes is a just a massive idiot!

Re: Moyes Out
"agreed with last two posts...ultimately the managerial piece comes down to understanding Sullivan's mindset on managers. He has a choice - because of his requirements in a manager - of keeping Moyes, or replacing with Benitez or BFS. Benitez and BFS want long term deals, on massive salaries, with massive staying up bonuses. I don't blame him for sticking. I do blame him for doing the same job for 30 years and still being so fucking shit at it."

Re: Moyes Out
"We all think Sullivan is doing it because he either can't be bothered or doesn't want the expense involved in getting rid of Moyes and hiring a new Manager, but could it be that he is worried that if he changes Manager and the new one fails he will be seen as the cause and will have nothing to hide behind. If he retains Moyes and based on the 4 criteria is able to prove he is right to keep him he is safe and will simply refer to the 4 point criteria even if we go down."
Re: Moyes Out
"As much as this is a Moyes Out thread, it all fundamentally comes back to the need for Sullivan to move into a non-executive role beyond Financial budgeting and non-footballing activities. He's way out of his depth, and until he departs from that aspect of things, these semi-boom and total bust cycles are inevitable."

Re: Moyes Out
"""Under Sullivan at least, there's a very clear pattern. Sign players in mid to late 20s. If they fail, sell on at a massive loss. If they have 5 good games, reward them with a massive contract that takes them well into their 30s. Max out on wages and transfer fees in one block, ensuring there is no continuity, Enjoy one or two good seasons with those players at their peak, then watch as they fall off a cliff at roughly the same time, and have a shit season. Solve by a huge spending splurge, adding 10 new faces to a dressing room, who play for a while like they've never met each other, because they haven't."" hahaha I shouldn't LAUGH at that, because it's a fucking crap way of running a football clue, but it's difficult not to."

"zico 3:36 Wed Mar 8 Re: Moyes Out well fundamentally that's part of the purpose of Noble's job. Under Sullivan at least, there's a very clear pattern. Solve by a huge spending splurge, adding 10 new faces to a dressing room, who play for a while like they've never met each other, because they haven't. I actually think our boom & bust is one of the more easy things to understand. There are countless examples of it within the current squad."
Re: Moyes Out
"It's certainly not just our club but it's baffling how a club can do quite well for a season or two then just fall off a cliff within months. It's happened to us to varying degrees under most of our managers. Sometimes it happens because you lose your best players and for whatever reason can't replace them with the same quality, but Roeder, Zola, Pardew, Bilic and now Moyes not only have failed to build on something half decent but have fallen away dramatically. Grant was crap from day one and you can argue only Allardyce kept some sort of consistency although it was dour to say the least. Do players or managers get above their station like the Baby Bentley crew under Pardew or do players just get fed up with hearing the same stuff day in day out? Sure it's difficult to sustain success but why the yo-yo scenario rather than just plodding along top eight with a cup run or two every year?"

Re: Moyes Out
"indeed. The club is a mess. I'm not sure that constitutes worrying about winning something. Honestly, i'd take a 1-0 defeat to Larnaca if it meant him going. Could repair the damage in the second leg, and go some way to repairng the damage that he's doing with his continued presence."

Re: Moyes Out
"Nah. Moyes is gone at the end of the season regardless of whether we win the EC or not or who the owner is. There's seemingly too much damage done for this to be turned around. This isn't lack of talent in the squad, it's lack of belief in the manager- and that's terminal."

Re: Moyes Out
"To be honest, given the three seasons with West Ham to date. He has the following ""achievements"" - saved from relegation - 6th in league and qualifies to the Europa League - 7th in league and gets to semi final of Europa league This season ""potentials"": -spends 200m on players - relegation but gets through to knock out rounds of Conference League -survives relegation and reaches knock out rounds of Conference League - survives relegation and wins Conference League On paper, bar relegation, it doesn't look bad for him to prospective employers and the MSM. However, as fans we know he has fallen out with players, been stubborn with team selection/tactics/substitutions, not won away at a top 6 club, has terrible man management skills, called out the fans, has no passion whatsoever."

Re: Moyes Out
"COOL HAND LUKE 1:00 Wed Mar 8 Good assessment. I also heard Sully told Moyes his top six bonus wasn't payable, and why would i t be. Hence the reason why Moyes looked like a bear with a thorn up its arse all summer and into the start of the season. You could also clearly see the point when Sully had obviously told Moyes that he looks like a bug eyed Victorian ghost at a wake in all his press conferences and to be a bit more positive. The Jock started smiling and making jokes again but you could see it was false and rather strained. I've also heard from a good source within the club Moyes wasn't happy with the Warburton recruitment and saw it as undermining. All in all, its led to the season we see. With Moyes now fully in defensive mode. Holding out as long as he can and a game of brinksmanship between him and Sully. Moyes probably thinking the longer he can hold out the more of that bonus he wanted is technically being paid to him. And Sully not wanting to sack him as he doesn't want to make a big pay-out to Moyes and spend on a further recruitment. Moyes also now fights a war to save his own credibility and dignity within the game and in doing so is making his press conferences and interviews the most nauseating, bullshitty, cliche-ridden, excuse filled load of drivel you've ever heard. Its so sad when a person is so intent on remaining credible that they lose focus of the content of their words and actions and become a parody. I almost feel sorry for Moyes now. Its a shambles."
Re: Moyes Out
if you put things in the context of 2 top 7 seasons in 3 and a European Cup (assuming w went and won it) the picture suddenly looks rosier. We all know Moyes is essentially a walking disaster at this point but its potentially easy to spin it as otherwise.

Re: Moyes Out
"the conference league is the fly in the OINTMENT. If someone offered you 17th and a trophy at the start of the season, you'd snap their hand off. It completely misrepresents the issues that exist with Moyes, far beyond matchday tactics, results etc, but it is out there and very very possible that it could happen."
Re: Moyes Out
"Scorch' Stay up and there will be a bit more than a 'bit of cash' There will be a churn of players as their contracts end necessitating a re-build plus Rice of course, and that precludes any Samacca/Paq/ Bowen/Aguerd type departures I would not be trusting that with Moyes and doubt Sully will either"

Re: Moyes Out
"If we win the Conference/stay up then I reckon it will have little to do with his methods, and more down to the players doing their own thing."
Re: Moyes Out
"Russ, without any inside information I do too The smell in the air and direction of comment renders his position untenable I reckon he sees winning the Conference as being proof positive of his methods, reinforcing his CV and guaranteeing his last job Either way, home before the summer post cards"
