Re: Moyes Out
"From Jim White ""A West Ham source at the club has said David Moyes will remain manager even if we get relegated""ù"
Re: Moyes Out
"Surely even our paralysed board have to act if we don't beat Villa. ""we can't find anyone else"" isn't an excuse by then - we'll only have 12 games left to save our skins. They just need to draft in someone who is experienced and most importantly ""not moyes"" to come in and do a short term job for the rest of the season then we start again next season under a new long-term manager who we get in asap after this season ends. I'm sure the relief in the dressing room will be enormous when a new face takes charge and the negative-one is gone. I'd even take Redknapp on a short term deal - things have got that bad!"

Re: Moyes Out
"The Palace game at home was the absolute nail in the coffin. Palace are a fucking drastically shit team, who at the time had the worst away record in 2022, and we made them look like peak Real Madrid. We were so shit that day, that it convinced some of our fans that the completely and utterly useless Patrick Vieira should be our next manager!"

"El Scorchio 12:55 Thu Mar 9 That is what success gets you. They have consistently been in Europe now for many seasons and have been in and around the top 4 too. So i guess their expectations have gone up. Much like ours, we had 6,7 league finishes, two seasons in Europe. Obviously this season we haven't been consistent in maintaining the league position but our expectations are high and rightly so."

Re: Moyes Out
Should have gone after Leicester. The WC break was the perfect time. We could all see it. Failing that after the Brentford home league game on 30th December with all of January to play with Those were the ideal times. But Sullivan sat on his hands when we could all see it was time for a change. The amount of games after which the talk has been 'He's SURELY getting fired tomorrow.' is getting ridiculous. Villa is another one. Lose that and we are starign right down the gun barrel and needing a miracle turnaround.

"Yeah, was saying all that back in October, southbank. Some of the responses back then when I said we were bang in a relegation scrap would be funny to look back on. Swindon is your man, he got the bunting out when we scraped a win at home against Fulham, the only team in the top half of the Prem who we've beaten this season."

Re: Moyes Out
"It's now 9 March and, realistically, I don't see Sullivan - with his crippling lack of imagination and parsimonious approach to staffing - making a managerial change now before the end of the season. To Sullivan, tonight is irrelevant. I guess there's a very slight chance of a change if we lose to Villa on Sunday. But very slight. It shouldn't be that way. We should have sacked Moyes ready for the re-start after the World Cup, and given a new manager a limited transfer window. But it looks like we're stuck with Moyes - and his crippling lack of imagination (see what I did there?) - until the end of the season. So buckle up, because this is now a full-blown relegation scrap. Every point matters, every win an oasis in an otherwise barren desert. And the football will be tedious - with a crippling lack of imagination (!) - beyond belief."

"4th place in the league, Knockout stages of the champions league. They are right around or maybe higher than where they should hope to be, given the competition domestically and abroad. My heart fucking bleeds for them. Granted they are out of the cups this season, but they don't fucking win any cups with any sort of regularity anyway."

"Fucking hell Swindon, you desperate peanut. West Ham spent more on transfers than Spurs in the summer, and we're currently one of the worst teams in the league. There's no comparison."

Re: Moyes Out
I think if you asked the majority of Tottenham supporters then they would say they are doing badly.

Re: Moyes Out
"Interesting that Conte is getting pelters in the press (and has been for some time) and it's all a disaster and doom and gloom at Spurs for horrible negative passive football, yet Moyes has almost got a free pass so far when we are in a far worse place. Last I checked they aren't actually doing so badly comparatively, and we let them absolutely walk over us a few weeks ago."

"See ""ò67 it's been so long since we've seen 2 strikers you forgotten how to spell it! Understandable""¶""¶ :-)"
Re: Moyes Out
"The rumours on the Gold shares are a mixture of 1) Kretinsky wants them so he then has overall control of the club, 2) Sullivan has been promised first option to buy them, and 3) the Gold family want to keep them and one of his daughters husband is on the board and a big fan and wants to stay involved. So in other words, no one really knows"

Re: Moyes Out
"Conte leaving Spurs by the looks of it but I doubt he would tolerate Sullivan for too long, Defensively minded but plays 2 stikers"
Re: Moyes Out
"Forget Mourinho he ain't gonna work with Sullivan We're stuck with the half cadaver that is Moyes. I'm watching almost every team trying to play football, passing better, playing out from the back and not just panicked hoofs back to the opposition. We ain't coached to handle pressing and to press and pass. Moyes is good with a group of 5-10 million pound players in a team that spoils the game and gets a goal against the run of play. These players buy into it as it's effective for them and they can't play a more technical, in possession game. We buy some players who can play a bit but he uses them like the honest workman like pros he usually has in his teams. Technicians like Scamacca, Paqueta, even Aguerd, Fornals and Ings probably wonder wtf they are meant to be doing. We are going to go down or at best survive by the skin of our teeth at best. Sullivan was not guilty until after the WC when he didn't get rid of the ""energy sapping""ù Moyes who would rather go down than try to change things or more likely has no clue how to Very depressing and tge Villa game is going to be the final confirmation of his ineptitude I suspect"
Re: Moyes Out
"Mourinho still has over a year to go at Roma, on which is likely to be a very lucrative contract. Unlikely he walks away from that, and no way Sullivan pays to get him out of it."
Re: Moyes Out
"The first think Mourinho would do would be to tell Antonio he's not a striker. Something Moyes should have sussed a while back, and we might not be in this mess."
Re: Moyes Out
"As mentioned, Mourinho wouldn't be around that long and the football may not improve in terms of entertainment but he would likely get a tune out of the squad. Then again even Noble, with no experience, would oversee an improvement? As an article by Stubbo, on the ""Hughie""ù ( coughs ) Southon site, says Moyes basically follows the ""spoiler""ù approach. Examples like the choice of Soucek to defend corners rather than valuing keeping possession and Fornals wide left instead of Benny because he presses well and helps defend. Poor old Moyesiah stuck in 2005"
