"Honestly, I don't to dig out Paqueta, because there may well be a fine player in there somewhere. But he has been nowhere near a £50m midfielder this season. For that money, you'd expect to see him dominate even the odd game in his position. He should certainly be running the show against lesser sides, especially from a deeper midfield position now that we've established that he's a #8 and not a #10. Instead, he mostly just looks lost in traffic. Could be Moyes' fault, of course. Wouldn't be the first time he has completely misjudged and misused a midfielder (Vlasic, Lanzini etc etc). But I'm not even seeing enough high-level glimpses from Paqueta just yet. I hope the bloke thrives - would want nothing more for him and us. But I'm no longer holding my breath. He's been massively underwhelming so far, with almost no impact on a poor side."

"They will probably sign Rice. They already have Odegaard, Xhaka, Partey, Jorginho and (sometimes) Smith-Rowe competing for roles in central areas. The only way I could see them signing Paqueta is if we are prepared to take a big loss on the fee - in which case, he might represent better value. But they won't pay near £50m for him after this season."

"Moyes can't be blamed for the individual errors but the blame lies solely at his door for the like for like changes and the relcutance to change anything. No change in formation, no change in personnel from the ones who have let him down pretty much every week, the list of blame at his door is endless."

"As fans, we have been very patient. We weren't happy with his appointment, but were willing to support the team and give the manager a chance. You could argue that we have been too passive, while other supporters have called for their manager's head for less. When this sweaty ball bag starts calling out fans for leaving ten minutes early, after watching us create the best part of fuck all for the last 35 minutes, despite being 3-1 down and in deep trouble, he has lost all credibility. Why call out the fans? They've had literally nothing to cheer for more 40 years. Are we supposed to be okay because we reached a European semi final last year? Is that something to be proud of? Call out yourself for having no game plan, and for not knowing how to get the best out of the players. Call out the players for basic errors. But leave the fans out of it. If there is anyone with credit in the bank, it's the long suffering fans."

"I'm sure last night must have been a bit of a final straw for some of the players too, made to look absolute mugs by a team and manager with an actual plan to pass and move and pull us out of position and play good football. They were strolling for half that game and whenever they felt like it they just increased the tempo and moved through us at will. They actually could have scored a few more if they needed to, i think. It will have been EMBARRASSING for most of ours to be out there with no gameplan or strategy. In terms of Paqueta, he'd really be able to show what he can do in a team like that. I have no doubt the way we play is seriously holding him back. No time or space at all to try and create anything. We do nothing to buy him any space in which to work. Again to use the car analogy which I've done a few times this week, we've bought a sports car and we're just leaving the handbrake on all the time. It's the same with a few of our players. In a weird way I'll thank the players who made their individual howlers last night if Moyes is to go. I'm sure he will hang his hat on 'Not my fault the players did that.' but time is up. Even if they hadn't, we've have been made to look Ryman league anyway and Newcastle were miles ahead of us in every way."

"no plan b 2 down at home and he swaps one striker for another, who anyone who has ever watched play, can tell you cant play up top on his own If we are going to get pumped 5-1 at home, it might as well be risking two up top and chasing the game rather than crumbling like last night Not sure how much more of this abject shit i can watch this season Europa league and a season in the championship wont be that bad right?"

Steinberg: David Moyes's position as West Ham manager more vulnerable than ever today but there's no guarantee of a change yet. Problem remains who takes over #whufc

"By far the biggest problem at West Ham is this stupefying Sullivan-Moyes axis of evil. But, that said, we have spent lavishly (by our standards) on some very expensive players who have massively underperformed - even against Moyes' paltry requirements for modern day football. Sure, they're all labouring under a manager who passed his tactical and motivational sell by date around the time Jack the Ripper killed Mary Kelly. But these are highly-paid professionals and some of the mistakes we saw from them last night would have been fucking horrendous during a primary school match. Fabianski, Aguerd and others all made absolute howlers last night. We can wang on about Sullivan and Moyes - and so we should - but individual players have got to step up during a relegation battle, too, and we're not seeing enough of it so far. We've also clearly signed some absolute ringers. How Kehrer is a German international is genuinely beyond me. How he cost £10m is beyond me. The guy has been very poor for the vast majority of his time here - he's lackadaisical, loses concentration several times per game, offers nothing going forward or playing out from the back and cannot mark for toffee. Genuinely, what does he bring to the table? But, even considering their specific problems under Moyes, we've seen little from Paqueta and Scamacca to justify enormous price tags - although I accept that Scamma has had some rough treatment from a manager who clearly does not understand what sort of player he has on his hands. Paqueta just makes me shrug my shoulders. He has not in any way justified a near £50m price tag. When his price got above £30m we should have started asking serious questions. He has been a relative waste of money - I'm sorry to say it, because we all want him to do well. But he's been a shit buy so far. I hope that changes under a new manager who knows how to use him. Ditto so many others. Why do we still have a 39 year-old goalkeeper? Why did we waste so much money on Vlasic? Etc etc. The shit has been pouring down form the top at West Ham for some time. But it now covers the players, too. I'd bin half of them tomorrow given half the chance."

Went down the front as near to the dug out as I could for the last 5 mins...gave the cսnt more than just boos. Shame there weren't more doing the same. Not sure if it's apathy but we have definitely lost our snarl...years gone by there would have been a lot more anger shown.

Soucek is awful. He has gone from being one of the first names on the team sheet to a player that would struggle to get into a League One side at present.

"It doesn't matter what we say on here now, I've realised that. Chris Sutton has been saying for weeks/ months that he is worried that Moyes will get sacked. How many chances. It's not as though we play well and win. Bournemouth played entertaining football against Liverpool and won. I never wanted moyes as manager. He has been lucky. For entertainment watch the Youth tonight Semi final"

Tomas Soucek: 75 minutes - 22 passes (79%) 0 tackles won Vs Brighton 90 minutes - 9 passes (69%) 1 tackle won Vs Aston Villa 68 minutes - 11 passes (52%) 1 tackle won Vs Southampton 63 minutes - 8 passes (89%) 0 tackles won Vs Newcastle He literally brings NOTHING Yet stars every game - he's mom every week for the opposition. Poor Rice and Paqueta having to play in there every week with that passenger. It's fucking horrific.

Out him now. They can't use the excuse that there aren't any good managers available. Get Poch or Potter in before they go to another club.

"I don't understand what some people see in Rodgers. He seems bang average to me and his stats back that up. I'm with others, get rid of moyes, get noble into the coaching staff and do some proper homework on finding a replacement to start next season. De zerbi at Brighton would make me very happy, but if not whoever Brighton have lined up as his replacement when he inevitably goes."

"I said at beginning of season I worried having a captain who was leaving and it ain't changed. His performances are for him alone and It grates on me watching him talk about fighting for rhe badge when we all know he is going. He should come out and say what the fans wanna here which is our style of play is archaic and we need perspective instead of backing Moyes. It does nothing. Even players will be thinking ""ok for u to say that rice as ur off to pastures new"""

"Pentonville 10:48 Thu Apr 6 Re: Moyes 100% agree. Aside from recent performances, I've loved watching him play for us. But when you watch us get hammered like that and then have to listen to post match comments like that, it's an insult to the fans or very worrying if he is being honest. Rice added, regarding Moyes: 'I love working with the manager. How he is as a person, as a man, he's great for us. Fans voice their opinion but it's football. '"
