Moyes Out ( Released )
"Posted the same last year. Nothing has changed, except win don't win matches anymore. I'm fed up, we can do much better"
Re: Moyes Out
"I'd actually still take Moyes above BFS, but that's where I draw the line. Just sack him today whatever the result, get in Still, Carrick, Rodgers/anyone and try to lift the team before it's too late"

"One funny thing about Wednesday. Seeing an unprecedented 4 subs getting ready to come on, I looked at the match clock. 62 minutes. Some things never change."

Re: Moyes Out
"No matter who's choice each player was (and Moyes keeps saying he has the final say and n everyone) it's not like we've ended up with a bad squad of players is it? And that's the real problem here. It's like a crap chef having good ingredients in the cupboard but insists he can only make 1 signature dish. And that dish is always fucking burnt and disgusting ""¶ sometimes it's barely edible.. Any other chef could make something out of the ingredients we have. I don't even know why we are bothered whether it's Rodger's or someone else. It doesn't really matter. Any one will do. Literally anyone. I want us to win today. But the only good thing about losing is that he'd definitely be gone. I think I could sacrifice 3 points here to know we would get more points from the remaining games. Just on ""manager bounce""ù alone I expect."

Re: Moyes Out
"BFS for all his faults was probably the only one who was happy to stand up to Sullivan and tell him like it is. Wouldn't surprise me if Sullivan was terrified of him. And to credit him, most of his transfers were fairly spot on for what we needed functionally at the time and fairly cheap as well IIRC although happy to be corrected on that, but he got more right than wrong. He just took us as far as he could and got to the end of the road. We just haven't really made that many good moves since."

Re: Moyes Out
I think Moyes just dithers too much. He well known for taking too long in deciding what he wants in terms of new players. I have seen comments from Everton fans saying this was the case. Newman is recommending players to him and although he probably doesn't fancy them he can't think of anyone better so he just decides to agree to some of them rather than bringing in no one. Particularly last summer as even he knew there was a desperate need for a bigger squad this season. That's my theory anyway. Scamacca & Emerson are probably good examples of this.

"brundal 12:59 Sat Apr 8 No, what he said was no doubt true when he was at the club about a decade ago. What David Moyes, Stuart Pearce, and every reliable ITK have said about now is also true."

Re: Moyes Out
"I don't doubt that BFS was subjected to Sullivan bringing the occasional player in but if you look at the majority of Fat Sam's signings they were 100 percent his. Would anyone really doubt that Carroll, Nolan, Downing, Jarvis, Jaaskelainen, Matt Taylor, Carew, Faye, Joey o'brien, Papa Diop, Gary O'Neil etc weren't Allardyce signings?"

Re: Moyes Out
"Yeah I wasn't sure if he was having a lot of say on some transfers but it seems to be confirmed from multiple sources now (unless of course partly it's sullivans tentacles distancing himself from any unsuccessful signing like he used to do) that he in fact does. Which honestly makes it all the more baffling how he treats several of them in terms of clearly not playing several to their strengths or even giving them adequate game time. Objectively you wonder what several of them are even here for. Aguerd, Paqueta and Emerson (even though THAT took 2/3 of the season) are the only ones getting any significant game time. We must have shelled out the best part of 50-60 million quid for expensive seat warmers in some of the signings, for all the playing time they have seen."
Re: Moyes Out
"brundal 12:28 Sat Apr 8 Re: Moyes Out I'm not trying to dig you out. But, I'd rather go by what Moyes has actually said, than what you (or others on here) believe or feel happened regarding transfers. Scamacca and Paqueta might not have been his first or even second choice, but they're his signings. As, he installed the recruitment team that recommended them. Just because Moyes didn't get his first choices, doesn't mean it was Sullivan's fault. We could all see Moyes was chasing players that didn't want to come (for far too long)."
Re: Moyes Out
"After 20+ games even novice manager Gary O'Niel has assessed his players and got them playing football to some degree of success. Our idiot can't even get his players to do basic stuff like take and receive throw ons, pass 5 yards or execute a plan for short goalkicks."

Re: Moyes Out
"Every single person with any credible link to the club, including former coaches even, have said that Moyes is in control of transfers. Of course he might not get his first choices, that will happen at every football club, but none of the signings have been down to Sullivan apart from Ings. If you choose not to believe that, fair enough. But you are just basing that on a belief, in the face of every reputable ITK, a former coach, and even the manager telling you otherwise."
Re: Moyes Out
"The Lyon president said it himself that Paqueta was offered to every club in the PL but only West Ham made an offer. We didn't plan to have him in our team, which you can see to this day cause Moyes still can't work out a way to get Paqueta/RIce/Soucek in his team."
Re: Moyes Out
"swindon hammer 12:19 Sat Apr 8 100% agree, i think the only player Moyes wanted that he got was Aguerd, everyone else he was offered and had to accept because he couldn't get who he wanted and the squad was so short owing to fucking up last January. He was desperate for Lingard and Broja and was messed around till late in the window and still didn't get them"

Re: Moyes Out
"I disagree, I think I've heard from numerous sources over the years (allardyce, pearce) that he likes to be in control. the most worrying clip I heard a few years back and one which I always refer back to was pearce saying he likes to deal with certain agents, which causes problems for whoever is manager. whether that's changed, who knows but I don't think at this late stage you change your ways. it's why I was always against changing manager as very little could change with the way the club is run, but we'd never spent almost £200m in a pair of windows before so things are different now. we've also been here before with the same manager and expensive signings, where he couldn't get anything out of them and the club lost tens of millions letting them move on the cheap. any good owner wouldn't let it happen again, but we're on the verge of relegation with player values depreciating.after every weekend"
Re: Moyes Out
Agreed with lots there the summer was chaotic in the end. Chucking money around. I suspect we missed out on lots of target Newman had because Moyes spent all summer chasing Lingard and Broja.
Re: Moyes Out
"Cheese Moyes may well say that he has the final say on all signings , Halier Vasic and Scamacca make me think Moyes is not 100% correct in that statement. The only player that Moyes wanted was Lingard and Sullivan said no ,"
Re: Moyes Out
"Fast forward 7 hours. Moyes ""I'm really pleased with a point, the lads showed great character against a top half side. Looking forward to Gent midweek, hopefully we win our 11th Euro game in a row, the fans have never had it so good. The board are fully backing me""ù."
Re: Moyes Out
"Takashi...nope I'm just saying I'd be surprised if Sullivan is the reason we can't get a decent manager, apart from his desire to try and get one. If you look at how he handles our managers once through the door he's actually pretty supportive. He's totally responsible for the ongoing Moyes debacle. No question. But as the boss of a manager for a prospective manager, he's not a bad boss to have."
Re: Moyes Out
Scamacca will clearly have been a Newman pick who wasn't Moyes first choice. That doesn't make him a Sullivan signing...he came through the recruitment team which fundamentally Moyes has installed and heads.
