Re: Moyes Out
Yup- no way Kretinsky or another new owner keeps Moyes whether we stay up or go down. It's a good 'way out' for everyone as well. I also think Sullivan bins him off regardless of what division we are in either- too much damage has bee done this season and his relationship with the players and some of his staff as well as most of us is beyond repair.

Re: Moyes Out
"Lots of ifs, buts and maybes at West Ham again, though. If we stay up, if Sullivan sells/Kretinsky buys, if Kretinsky wants to change tack, if Rodgers or others are still available, if we get back into Europe via winning a trophy...etc etc etc... For a team that has had an unspectacular season, there is still a heck of a lot hanging on the next few weeks."

Re: Moyes Out
"The irony is that if Moyes avoids relegation, and Kretinsky buys the majority share of the club, the new owner is quite likely to change managers. It's not set in stone but, by all accounts, Kretinsky's camp are the ones suggesting a change might be overdue. Apparently, he values experience though. Which makes Rodgers an immediate target while he's on the market."

Re: Moyes Out
"comma - Yea I know, but generally Sullivan has an owner, spanning what 25 years, has rarely sacked managers mid-season. Like I said, we will never know now if he would have sacked Moyes, since he won his must win games."
Re: Moyes Out
"Manuel 10.36 wrote ""rightly or wrongly, as we know Sullivan has a history of not sacking managers mid-season""ù. That is not the case in the sackings of Bilic and Pellegrini though. Both times Sullivan saw the greater risk was to keep faith with them in comparison with bringing in Moyes to keep us up."

Re: Moyes Out
"stewie griffin 10:13 Thu Apr 13 Yep, I've always thought that's what it basically come down to. He was gambling, to an extent, I suppose, by that I mean if you believe what was said Moyes has had what 3 must wins or he's sacked, so only gambling to a point if this was true, but since he won all his must wins we will never know if he would have been sacked o not. Rightly or wrongly, as we know Sullivan has a history of not sacking managers mid-season, so in many ways this has just been him sticking to that strategy, he must think that summers are the right time for a change and not during a season, and to an extent I wouldn't disagree, as for different reasons it can be messy changing managers mid-season, while offering no guarantees at all of better performances. If, as expected, we stay up AND replace Moyes in the summer, then I suppose it would have to be said that Sullivan done okay, come what may."

Re: Moyes Out
"We're the only team who hasn't scored in the first 15 mins of the game, so that should tell anyone who listens that whatever Moyes is sending the team out to do, isn't working. I'll put my hands up and admit that I didn't really fully appreciate what Noble brought to the club while he was a player, given what's happened since he hung his boots up. It's a shame he didn't fancy doing a Brooking for a few months."

"will doubtless ENRAGE some, but its not a coincidence that the wins against Forest & Fulham both happened after a team meeting with Mark NOBLE, without Moyes being present."

Re: Moyes Out
"I'm also likely to agree with Sullivan, that we have enough greatness in the squad to stay up. It's way too late to sack Moyes now if we fall into the relegation zone, if you look at the STATS. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11661/12854888/does-sacking-a-manager-while-in-relegation-zone-improve-premier-league-survival-hopes He's unfortunately here to stay until the end of the season. I have no doubt if we stay up and win the Euro Conference, then it will pretty much be down to the players."

Re: Moyes Out
"Sullivan believes we have more quality in the playing squad than anyone else in trouble. He believes that it will be enough to keep us up, in spite of, not because of, Moyes. Its really no more complicated than that. Sullivan isn't a great fan of Moyes, he was the one who got rid last time when Gold0 wanted to keep him. He's probably not wrong, and we probably will just about get out of it. For me its a ridiculous gamble to take, but if you head into the winter with precisely no contingency plan, and you shop in a pool of managers that leaves you with a shortlist of Benitez and Allardyce, then you back yourself into this corner where its basically fingers crossed and hope for the best,"

Re: Moyes Out
"Aberdeen Iron 10:54 Wed Apr 12 I think your looking into it too much. I don't believe there is anything contractual. Its down to money. Sullivan realises that the only thing we can do in the league is stay up. And he obviously believes that, despite how shit we are, Moyes has a glimmer of keeping us in the PL. SO all he has done is weighed up the chances of that glimmer and the cost of sacking Moyes. Being the tight spiv cսnt he is he has opted for keeping him."

Re: Moyes Out
"""Hasn't this all come from Alex crooks"" Alex Crook, a fat man utd fan from the south coast. like his colleague Matterface, looks down his nose at any club outside the big six. don't believe a word the cսnt says"
Re: Moyes Out
"Ideally, we reach mathematical safety whilst still in the EC and the cսnt is sacked immediately We go on to win the thing under A N Other"
Re: Moyes Out
"Why are people saying he'll be gone in the summer whatever happens? Sullivan has apparently already said Moyes will be our manager in the Championship, hasn't he?"

Re: Moyes Out
The only way I can see this 'gentlemans agreement '' working is that Moyes get his basic wage covered for a year. Moyes will then take a break until some club sacks it's manager and Moyes goes in there on some short term contract with a major bonus for keeping them up and parles this is into a long term contract infuriating those fans with his shit defense only football
Re: Moyes Out
"My guess is we stay up by the skin of our teeth and win the conference league. Moyes leaves by mutual consent, and can say he gave us a trophy and two top 7 finishes. Everyone's happy, Moyes leaves with a ""careful what you wish for""ù parting shot"
Re: Moyes Out
"If a manager resigned would they be breaking their contract? if that were the case, employed managers who change clubs, would be liable to a breach of contract action, which never happens. Of course all those potential legal actions could have been avoided by the new club, paying compo to the existing club."
Re: Moyes Out
"Didn't Curbishley resign from us, over transfer policy, i.e. he didn't get a say in who was sold? And then winning a constructive dismissal case, against the club. And he's never worked in management again."
