Re: Moyes Out
"crassus, you talking about the show he does with danny kelly on talksport? I heard it, and personnel wise he's probably right but clearly mark doesn't or hasn't watched us this season. on paper he may be right, but it means fuck all if we have a plank like moyes managing them"
Re: Moyes Out
"Scott I've not said we 'should' in an entitled manner, merely recounted Brassell who knows far more about European football than us As it happens his logic is correct, Basel are pony and having a poor domestic season in a poor league. Fiorentina are faultering domestically and lost the second leg at home with AZ needing penalties against a weak Anderlecht We should not be losing based upon core facts, except one - Moyes!"

Re: Moyes Out
"I agree Crassus, plus any PL club that gets the deep into this particular European competition would & should be thinking the same."
Re: Moyes Out
"We SHOULD get the later stages of this competition. But nothing about West Ham, our current form, our historical success (especially in Europe) suggests that we SHOULD win it and it's arrogant to think that it's in the bag. AZ won't be a walkover and neither will Fiorentina or Basel. We COULD win it and we have a very good chance, but we are not as cunty as clubs like Spurs who think that they SHOULD be winnig things."

Re: Moyes Out
"Pretty sure both AZ Alkmaar & Fiorentina are both thinking they will never have a better chance of winning a trophy as well. They wont be fearing the ""Mighty""ù West Ham and our 43 years without a trophy that's for sure. Both clubs have won more trophies than we have and Fiorentina are also in the Coppa Italia final so could win 2 trophies this season. It will be disappointing to not win it but 2 tough teams await."
Re: Moyes Out
"In that Brassell wireless article I referred to, he went on to say that there was not a side left that should come close to bothering us Even the draw and results had unfolded to our favour. Beyond Nice no one comes near and they are out - IF West Ham turn up we win, comfortably, if we don't, we could come unstuck against either an energetic AZ or pedestrian Fiorentina We all know what's likely now ffs"

Re: Moyes Out
Yup. The way he's mishandling the squad seems like it's going to have a decent chance of preventing us winning our first trophy in most of a lifetime. And one that should be a shoo in with the opposition left in the competition as well.
Re: Moyes Out
"Nick QQQ 9:10 Sat Apr 29 Spot on I understand why other posters get so irritated by negative miseries like Nick, me ( the most ) and others ( Stevetgehammer, Mike , el scorch ) . It's partially trying to protect ourselves against tge disappointment but also the 43 years of nothing but going close to winning something 2 or 3 times but fvcking up against the odds But perhaps ( not certain ) the reason our negativity grates so much is because deep down we all know it's highly plausible that we will fvck things up again and especially with a manager who's whole career is mediocrity and more recently failure I apologise and truly hope I'm wrong but I see Nicks premonition as the most likely outcome."

Re: Moyes Out
The best decision Sullivan could ever make would be sacking the fraud this morning and putting Kevin keen in for the remaining fixtures . obviously there's as much chance of Elvis making a comeback as that happening as dwarf won't part with another penny until he departs at the end of the season.

Re: Moyes Out
"Even though they beat our half dead side, Woy has had an insanely easy set of fixtures since he came back. They haven't played anyone above them in the table, and they lost to a side who lost 6-0 today. He's walked into the cushiest job in the league where any mug virtually could have kept them up with ease. But nevertheless, their owner at least took action when he saw things were going south. Still so fucked off with how Moyes has handled the squad these last two games. Idiotic. I can't wait for the end of the season."

Re: Moyes Out
"Tbf I think as far as staying up goes Sullivan may be justified in thinking he's a ""Safe pair of hands""ù keeping Moyes until the end of the season despite the last 2 results. He should have got rid of him during the World Cup break but anytime after February then it was too late to get in a decent replacement. Only Crystal Palace who went back to the manager who already knows the set up and players have benefited from sacking their manager so late on. Southampton, Leeds, Everton & Leicester haven't proven they made the right decision yet. Sullivan needs to pull the trigger at the end of the season though."

Re: Moyes Out
I wouldn't trust Moyes to put out the cones at training let alone give him anymore money. Bloke is a fucking clown who lives in some other reality where he is a successful football manager. He has made a huge living out of mediocre football with a few 'successful' seasons in there. By and large it's been average at best and 20+ years in management and won the grand total of fuck off. Says alot really.
Re: Moyes Out
"I don't know why we all sound surprised. He's consistent if nothing else. He will drag them all out for city, we'll lose the semi and it will be 2 semis in. A row we should be thankfull. Bloke is an absolute clown"
Re: Moyes Out
What NYC said is another reason he can't stay. Under no circumstances can he or Newman for that matter be allowed to spend the Rice money. Sullivan will rightly be aggrieved on how poorly Moyes has spent last summer and the summer before tbh. Moyes stays Rice's replacement is Mctominay and that alone should be a sackable offence

Re: Moyes Out
"His mismanagement of the squad in the last two games has been fucking atrocious and it's maybe cost us being in the best possible shape for the Alkmaar game. He's got to completely throw the Man City game or the Man U game or both in order to give the important players any kind of breather and chance to be properly fit and ready. Alkmaar are coming off tonnes of rest and preparation time. Rice, Paqueta, Coufal, Aguerd, Zouma (If he's not injured anyway), Bowen, Antonio (and Soucek regardless what we think of him) all need a full game which they play no part in leading up to it. So I suppose if he's got any brains he's thinking we'll lose anyway so he might as well play the reserves and youth. Although he wouldn't have to if he hadn't have been so fucking short sighted, stupid, unimaginative and inflexible in the last week."

Re: Moyes Out
I wonder what out goal difference will be after the City game ? I think it will come to our last 2 games of the season to stay up or go down Leeds home Leicester away

Re: Moyes Out
"Had we drawn the last 3 games we would have accepted that. Let's be honest; like most on here I would rather now we 'stutter' to survival and we see Moyes leave. Not under a cloud, just time done and run it's course. We should already be talking to Potter or Carrick (watched Boro a few times and they play nice football. We should rest a few players against City, pointless pissing them off with a 7/8 nil drubbing. Might as well let that happen to a mix of 1st and 2nd string players. Rest some for Man U and make sure we're right up for that."
Re: Moyes Out
"Today showed exactly why Moyes needs to go. His approach is so dated, his approach made 90 year old Woys Palace look like Man City. We'll approach every game the same, the only change is if the opposition are shit enough to let us get away with it (see Fulham, Southampton and Bournemouth), or punish us (see today, Liverpool and Newcastle). I'm embarrassed watching us at the moment."

Re: Moyes Out
"Steady 5:09 Sat Apr 29 ''It's probably for the best we stutter and stumble over the line to safety. If we'd have kept up the arsenal/Bournemouth performances until the end of the season, he'd be staying next season too.'' Actually a decent point, there has to be more chance of him going if we stutter over the line finishing 16th, fans disgruntled, etc, as opposed to winning games and finishing 12th/13th."
