Re: Moyes Out
"If we dont win Thursday, he goes. If we win the Conference, he probably stays. The only reason he goes 100% is if they are sure they have found a better replacement sho can deliver Europe for a fourth year , get us playing better and higher up the league."
Re: Moyes Out
"Winning a European trophy is great but just look at the teams in it most would struggle in the 1st Division, we have been poor since at least December let's not let the cup competition gloss over how poor we have been , Sullivan stuck by Moyes at the end of last season and this season, I hope winning the conference cup doesn't keep Moyes in a job."

Re: Moyes Out
"Of course Sullivan knows it's shit, he sits there and watches the games the same as the rest of us, Plus assuming he doesn't spend his days with his eyes shut and ears closed he will be hearing plenty of negativity, no doubt. I'm done guessing and speculating what will happen, it's fucking exhausting, so let's see what pans out in around a months time, or sooner if we go out on Thursday."

Re: Moyes Out
The thing is that Sullivan may well not be happy with how things have panned out but who has faith in him having any sort of succession plan. He'll probably try to appoint Ron Atkinson as manager because he's a trusted name. What we really need to happen is for him to sell up to someone competent. Kretinsky is also only in it for the money but I have more faith in him to run the business with some form of plan and strategy that will benefit the team and his bank balance in the long term. Sullivan is just a twat.
Re: Moyes Out
"Britishisbest I agree, I'm not a fan of Sullivan but I'm also fairly sure even he cant be sitting there thinking 'this has been a great season' after having hoofed the better part of 200M last summer. That's the hope anyway and we DO push on with someone new because today, like so many in the past year was so very hard to watch and keeping moyes will be dooming us to repeat it."

Re: Moyes Out
Moyes is clearly being outcoached by basically every young manager we've faced this season. and the most galling thing about it there at clubs with far less resources than WHUFC. Potter frank de zerbi literally run rings around him every time he faces them .
Re: Moyes Out
"Will be a meltdown among the ""pundits"", journos and ex-pros when/if moyes goes despite winning the euro cup. Also - inexplicably - among some of our fans. We know what Moyes can do - and it's not what a progressive club needs. He should join the jurassic park of allardyce style bosses only called on when clubs are desperate"

Re: Moyes Out
"I think that everything that needs to be said has been over the last six months. We are an extremely poor football team - for my money - that is solely down to the manager given the group of players we have. The board have invested in the squad and whilst you could argue we've been unfortunate with injuries, who hasn't this season? Nothing will change next year if he stays in charge. I will continue to buy my season tickets as I want my seat for when we eventually wake up and smell the coffee, but I wont bother going. If we win this Europa Conference - it will be more a function of the other teams just being so incredibly shit, than us being a decent football team."

Re: Moyes Out
Sullivan is asking for relegation next season if Moyes stays in charge. The players don't like playing under him it's been obvious all season. I suspect the dwarf knows it as well .
Re: Moyes Out
"Tony Gale was pointing out how Brentford were doing the same thing at every throw in, pretend to throw short then throw long. They had 3 throw ins in a row, same thing each time. Doing it to 'confuse' the players. If you knew they were doing it, its not fucking confusing. They scored on the third go..."

Re: Moyes Out
"The European runs have brought in quite a lot of extra money into the club so Sullivan ain't going to sack the manager who has made that happen. I think that's the long and short of it, barring relegation. That's not to say I agree with it, but realistically that's the situation, surely?"

Re: Moyes Out
"Great breakdown of how Brighton play on MOTD tonight, highlighting the confidence they have in getting several people playing high up the pitch and using an actual gameplan for getting into advantageous situations vs the opposition. Kind of like the complete opposite of us, really."

Re: Moyes Out
"""What club sacks a manager after that!!!??? Other than Real Madrid etc."" a club that's lost nineteen league games this season, after spending £200m on players"
Re: Moyes Out
"Win the last 4 games of the season against Leeds, Leicester, Alkmaar and Fiorentina/Basel and we'll probably finish 12th and win a European Trophy. What club sacks a manager after that!!!??? Other than Real Madrid etc."
Re: Moyes Out
"Moyes has to win the conference league to beef up his cv if nothing else. He's got to be done here, whatever happens."

"I agree, but it was very noticeable that he didn't even have them set up right with lanzini often the deepest midfielder. It's like he doesn't even know what/who he's managing. he's the joe biden of football management"

Re: Moyes Out
Takashi they're not encouraged to play football and the team was quite short so by having to pass around and hoof ball not being an option with Ings up top it was never going to be pretty.

Re: Moyes Out
"I'd fallen asleep by half time, that's how poor we were. it was like he'd gone on to the street and asked eleven random blokes if they fancied a game. who knows what he/they do in training, but you'd at least expect a bit of cohesion and some sort of gameplan. It's just bad football"

Re: Moyes Out
"Same shit and negative approach to a game. Same tactics throughout the game. Poor passing and movement. So what's new? This has been the same recipe for nearly two fucking years now . Managed and trained by the most stupid person in the world of football. Today's game was the result of a rudderless ship, just with less experienced crew. The difference between today and Thursday was Brentfor having better players. Those supporting this Gollum cսnt is either a nonce board/owners or just a nonce supporter of a great football club."
Re: Moyes Out
"I know it's easy to look at other teams doing well, but look at Brighton when they have the ball - every player knows where they should be to give an option. You can't tell me that their players are so much better than ours, they're just very well coached."

Re: Moyes Out
"Goose - bang on, fella. Moyes' ENTIRE ""tactics""ù (such as they exist) are all about getting eight or nine players in a low block camped just in front of our own penalty area. That's it. That's the ""discipline""ù of his tactics that his biggest advocates bang on about. He does not have a clue how to coach possession or progression. But for most teams these days, it's nowhere near enough. Not even the starting point. Which is why he has to go, even if we win the third-tier European trophy."
Re: Moyes Out
Moyes simply cannot make players better. At the same time he has made some bloody awful signings. Out of all the players that he has signed only a couple I would consider consistent successes. There is promise ion one or two but you need a coach who can improve them. Moyes is a million miles away from a Ron Greenwood who turned an average midfield player into a World Class centre forward or John Lyall bringing in a raw youngster called Alan Devonshire and helping him develop into a Hammers legend. Moyes just makers most of them worse.
