Re: Moyes Out
"Newman brough Borges to City, so if he ends up coming to us, then you can pretty much guarantee Newman had something to do with it."
Re: Moyes Out
LeroysBoots 12:39 Thu Jul 27 Re: Moyes Out Has it been clarified what's happening with Newman ? ---------------------------------------------- It hasn't even been clarified what Steidten's role is yet but I think we can safely assume that Moyes has a year left on his contract giving him final say. I reckon Newman has settled in as Head of Scouting rather than Head of Recruitment. Probably gave in too much to Moyes pig headedness and so not Kretinsky's choice for when he eventually takes over.

"I neither got on Lampard's back or doubted he would become great, BUT let's get this right""¶.he was rarely subbed when he was clearly young and not playing well AND Danny Williamson was the better talent at that stage""¶.it just should of been the other way round at the beginning""¶."

Re: Moyes Out
The slagging off of Lampard I could never get my head round the stupid kid like goading from grown men was a sight to behold. How would you respond to the constant barracking. It's what we missed which was more upsetting as he turned into a great player.
Re: Moyes Out
"I disagree, Fifth. He was treated terribly by our fans who felt he was only in the team because of family connections. Redknapp gave that famous press conference, saying he'd be a top, top player. He was right."

Re: Moyes Out
"So many of you are like women that have been dumped. Rice didn't slag us off, he basically is sucking up to his new manager. He clearly has a desperate need to be liked and it's good for his brand, squeaky clean future England captain Declan Rice. All the stuff he said about us at the end of the season, it was always bollocks. I was watching him ""conduct"" the crowd on the pitch in Prague when we were singing 1 More Year after the match thinking ""you're going to leave, stop being so insincere"". He'll leave them and go to Real Madrid at some point and will do the same again. He's not a West Ham fan. Never was. Never will be. He's just another mercenary. And that's fine. He is nothing like Lampard though. Lampard is a horrible human being and properly bad mouthed us for years and years."

"What a Lampard cսnt, Rice is. I hope he gets dogs abuse everytime he plays against us."

"Scouse Can't remember mate, I read all sorts of stuff Can't either corroborate its integrity, but it does ring circumstantially right and fits reported transfer comment of Moyes refusing certain players We shall see"

Re: Moyes Out
Where was that Crassus? The last I saw was drunken ramble from old Hugh claiming Sullivan had taken back control of the financial aspects of transfers from Moyes which was a change from last season.
Re: Moyes Out
"Boots Agreed but consider this According to a recent report, Moyes holds a Curbishleyesque recruitment/sale clause within his contract As such, by pure economics it is best to bin than retain"

Re: Moyes Out
"Three-sixty makes a valid point, Moyes is a transient employee at the end of his time at the club. The DOF should be setting the rules and foundations for the manager and players to adhere to so should be Moyes boss, but this is West Ham so anything goes"

"Rice is going to always go over the top with Arteta because deep down he knows Pep is the ultimate manager who wouldn't guarantee his undivided attention or a place in his team""¶and he didn't want to leave London which is a shit decision for a footballer who thinks he could be world class, you kind of have to want to be in the teams of the moment which Man City are""¶.so it's best just to ignore his bandwagon shit he has to put out""¶."

Re: Moyes Out
Does Moyes report into the DOF or to Sullivan? I always thought that was the whole point being a director of footballing matters. Basically can the DOF sack the manager or overrule him? I think the DOF has to be a long term role to protect the club for the future. With Moyes only having 1 yr on his contract I wonder whether the DOF will let him wreck things?

"""Twoleftfeet 1:05 Wed Jul 26 Re: Moyes Out We have had more success and good times under Moyes than we did under 14 years of Lyall. Watch the Robert Banks programme about the Lyall years, I had forgotten how shit we were most of the time under him. Plus he refused to improve the squad after 86 and we just died. Lyall will always be my favourite manager but we do have a rose tinted view of him.""ù Jesus fucking Christ you're a mong So winning a trophy where you don't play anyone good enough to get out of the championship till the final and a European semifinal is better that 2 x fa cup wins 1 x league cup final 1 x cup winners cup final 1 x cup winners cup quarter final and coming within a whisker of winning the league. We also won div 2 by a gazzillion points. You are fucking deluded are you sure you're not Tottenham only one of their mob could be that deluded."

Re: Moyes Out
Rice is a fucking prick and whatever respect I had left for him has already gone. 10 days since he left and he's already taking the piss and talking us down same as Lampard did but pretty sure even Lampard gave it a bit more time. If he wanted to butter up Arsenal fans and Arteta then all he had to do was do his talking on the pitch.

"Lee Trundle 7:06 Wed Jul 26 I agree and so I want/ed Moyes out. But in a basic results to resources observation, he would not be the one I jump to, to prove that point."

"Plays entertaining football, got a young team with English players, only beaten to the title by Man City last season. Yeah, he's barely any better than Moyes."

Re: Moyes Out
"I wanted Moyes out before the World Cup and still do but can we really say Arteta has done that much better than him. He won an FA Cup after his first half season, we have last year's trophy. Arteta's resources are greater and he has undoubtably finished higher generally. But when we had to win games last year we did and they didn't."

Re: Moyes Out
"Again is he wrong? I don't agree with the what he has said about winning trophies at Arsenal but I do see his point and that this club is a fucking shambles from the very top to the bottom. An owner who comes out and sells out best asset on the morning after our best night in over 40 years. A manager who cannot bring himself to play a different way, is afraid of looking to the future in anything he does, has had 2 coaches leave him and he hasnt replaced them A director of football who has no previous knowledge of the role and is too close to the owner and manager No captain A stadium that isn't even our own A transfer policy that no one agrees on And a business strategy that penny pinches in every way it can Wonderful football club we have right now, topped off by employing Arsenal football club fangirl Karen Brady."
