Moyes Out ( Released )
"Posted the same last year. Nothing has changed, except win don't win matches anymore. I'm fed up, we can do much better"
Re: Moyes Out
"Moyes out has turned into Moyes wankfest. How things can change. Antonio has re discovered the form of 2 years ago, if he gets injured or loses form then Moyesball is a busted flush again. Then Moyes wankfest is back to Moyes out."

"ray winstone 12:35 Sun Aug 27 I've probably posted in your direction about 5 times, Ray, and I reckon a couple of them were in response. I think you need some help. Maybe ask your boss for some advice next time you're driving him to work."

Re: Moyes Out
I think one criticism of Moyes is going for a one nil win and defending a lead. Yesterday was far from that. I saw some people moaning about defending a three nil lead so that could be the new antiMoyes bench mark.

Re: Moyes Out
"Yep, will be interesting. No coach/side completely changes how they play each week, for very obvious reasons, so no doubt we will set up similarly, ie Antonio up top etc, but I would almost certainly expect us to have more possession based on them not being a good side at this level, so doubt they will be able to keep the ball much, or not in forward areas anyway, and our midfield and even full backs should be able to push up more with less worry of them taking us apart when they counter, like we did to Brighton yesterday."
Re: Moyes Out
"Manuel, Agreed. It will be interesting to see how we adapt on Friday night and what we do differently against a distinctly different opposition. Our system needs to be tweaked and I am interested to see how Moyes handles the tactical change as we need to be adaptable as the season progresses."

Re: Moyes Out
"Banjo - Wouldn't disagree with any of that, but the point being made is low possession stats like that just isn't sustainable every week, you won't keep getting results, but Moyes will be only to aware of that of course, but we have have played two good, possession based sides in Chelsea and Brighton and it worked a treat and the window isn't finished yet, so his ideal side isn't in place yet. Even after yesterdays game he said we need to change how we play a bit, as he has said previously, so let's see"

Re: Moyes Out
"Those obsessing about possession stats - Tippy tappy possession in your own half is pointless and meaningless unless you can break the oppo down and turn it into goals which Brighton & Chelsea couldn't. As someone summed it up on herd yesterday. It's like a boxer throwing dozens of weak slappy punches that don't land on target or hurt the opponent, then the other guy throwing a big punch and ending the bout."
Re: Moyes Out
"Yarmouth. I have been on Moyes case like you but I am changing my mind. Who really gives a fuck about possession or how many ticky tack passes we make compared to our opponents. Those stats are completely useless when compared to goals scored versus goals conceded. I used to think that the only gauge to measure our performances against was that of entertainment value was ooh aah moments, slick attacking football, something we apparently used to do. I say apparently as I have followed West Ham for sixty years and can count on one hand the amount of ooh aah moments but can recall many, many more moments of abject disappointment. So, I don't think we are Stoke, or Luton or Bolton. We have a very solid defence and an exciting attack plus a good transition between the two. I like what I am seeing and look forward to it developing into a more attack minded strategy as the season unfolds. I don't like Moyes but that is unimportant if we continue to produce results."

Re: Moyes Out
"Fwiw.... I thought yesterday was a massive improvement on what we've seen over the last 18 months. No issue with not having much possession if , when we do get it, we're a threat. For a long time it was antonio, and that's it. When we attacked yesterday, we got more people forward than we have been doing, and it paid off. JWPs goal the best example of it. He makes the original interception and hits the pass to antonio. Yes the defender fucked up, but JWP covers 70 yards to get involved and ends up scoring. We haven't seen that in a LONG time. Bowens goal similarly, covered a massive amount of ground to get up there, and probably the best goal you'll see all weekend. In simple terms, no issue at all with us being a counter attacking team. What we've been for 18 months or so is a defensive team. There's a massive difference"

Re: Moyes Out
"Against Luton, with both sides terrified of conceding, it's unlikely either side will cross the half way line.. Fuck off Moyes - it's embarrassing. Your'e turning us into the modern day Wimbledon. If our keeper wasn't MOM we'd have been beaten. Antonio's form won't last, who is fucking Moyes gonna use as his battering ram then? There were huge parts of the game when we had nobody, fucking nobody in their half at all. How is that football? It's not is it, it's Moyesball and its shit. The question for me is what's gonna happen when all our signings are ready to play because the best 11 from that squad is not a Wimbledon. Then there's gonna be a power struggle & my hope is Moyes get's sacked as a consequence and therefore our club can develop properly under a progressive manager, not this fucking dinosaur."

"Eerie Descent 12:02 Sun Aug 2 You follow me round this forum like a lost puppy, making snide comments on more or less anything I post (usually including a dig at my musical ability) so when you decide to make crass predictions like ""òwe're going to get stuffed by Brighton' and we win, don't expect me to ignore such ill informed punditry. Maybe you could spend more time improving your footballing analysis than listening to my songs and chasing me, it'll be time well spent."

"Stop it you Moyes haters, you are making me laugh too much ü§£ I know you probably only watched the MOTD highlights but we could easily have had 6 or 7 against them, it's not as though we are holding on every game. Just enjoy it because this is West Ham and nothing lasts forever."

"For me, it's never about not enjoying a win but the miserable way we win, away from home or against the so called big teams is understandable, but betting a pound against a piece of shit we're going to set up and play the same Friday against Luton. Happy to be proven wrong but Moyes ain't going to change."

Re: Moyes Out
"""Unfortunately some posters have painted themselves into a corner where they can't enjoy wins because they'd have to admit they might have been wrong""about what utter shit. relying on the goalkeeper having 10/10 performances every week isn't sustainable"
Re: Moyes Out
I'm warming to Moyes. He still has his faults but with Tim Steidten helping find the new signings we have removed the biggest weakness from Moyes armoury. Poor buys that didn't fit probably caused the squad unrest as much as any other thing last season. OK we still have low possession stats for the anti brigade to cling to but I do like our strong defence. It's the basis of any winning team. Leicester won the PL with an average of something like 30% (iirc?). With our new and hopefully better players arriving I am sure we will improve possession but it's goals that win games. Not possession.. Unfortunately some posters have painted themselves into a corner where they can't enjoy wins because they'd have to admit they might have been wrong. Moyes is not a natural fit for WH but the results speak for themselves. Unless he completely fucks it up I reckon he's nailed on to stay longer than the end of this season so we need to get used to it...
Re: Moyes Out
"Everyone needs to calm down. Chelsea could have been out of sight at half time last week and Brighton could have scored 3 or 4 in the last 15 minutes. Let's see where we are after 30 games, not 3."

Re: Moyes Out
"To all you screeching armchair Muppets. Moyes kept us up when we were in trouble in his first spell. Then consecutive 6th & 7th finishes and a EL semi final. Followed by our first trophy for 43 years. We're currently top of league after a stunning counter attacking performance against one of fancied sides who we traditionally struggle against and Chelsea last week. The new signings look class with more to follow, and it's looking like we will have another good season. Give it a rest."

Re: Moyes Out
The one thing this site is not is an echo chamber. If I said I like fluffy young kittens there would be a queue of posters saying they are smelly noisy cunts and I should drown them in the river. My only concern re Moyes is that the squad is right for after his tenure. I think we are getting there. In the mean time I'll support the team club players and management.

Re: Moyes Out
"ED - To be fair I did see that post after my retort, so fair enough son. To be honest though I DID enjoy the football, I enjoyed how resilient we were in terms of organisation and defending and enjoyed how we broke. I found it a little ironic that Brighton are meant to play the beautiful game but some of our moves were way better than anything they produced, correct or not? We were getting up the pitch quickly and most of the time they had no answer and let's be fair it could have easily been 4 or 5. it was some of the best football we have played in some time and we still have more players to come in. Not getting carried away of course, but there is very little reason other than to be optimistic and happy right now. So yes, I enjoyed it, and it certainly looked like our fans did behind the goal."

Re: Moyes Out
"Yesterday was a great performance and the plan was executed perfectly. In fact I actually have no problem playing like this against a team like Chelsea packed with high quality players and Brighton who are an excellent team. My main issue is in the last 12 months we've started like that against everyone even teams in cup games that are nowhere near as good as us. What I don't get is in the one and a half seasons we we're challenging for CL we didn't play like that every week I remember games against Leeds and villa and other weaker teams where he stuck Benni in at No.10 and we pressed them and played them off the park and it worked. For me the proof will be next week as when we play Luton they haven't got a single player that would get on our bench there is absolutely no need to play like we did yesterday and I'm not fussed about possession stats but we don't need to sit back when they have the ball we should press the shit out of them win the ball high and wipe the floor with them. We've had a very good unexpected start to the season, if we can get a centre forward and two fullbacks through the door before Friday the squad is looking good and we are in good form and long may it continue."

Re: Moyes Out
"In fairness, I gave a reasonable response on another thread first up, and praised a lot of our players. On this thread, that pillock Winstone called me out rather than enjoying the win himself, so I responded, because its a pointless messageboard and that's what people like me, him and everyone else does. I thoroughly enjoyed the win, not the performance. When your keeper has to perform like that, 2 games in a row, and when you are so reliant on a player with Antonio's attributes to play like that and seemingly no one else can do it, I don't think it's sustainable, so I've pointed that out to offer some balance. Seeing as how upset that makes many, I probably won't bother again. Enjoy the echo chamber."
