Re: Moyes Out
"anyone using that term 'humble pie' is a legitimate dribbling spastic. for someone supposedly earning six figures a year, you are a truly thick cսnt. I was correct about kudus and bowen playing up top, correct about paqueta not being stuck out wide and correct about antonio offering nothing. go and do some colouring in, football is beyond that brain of yours"

Re: Moyes Out
Takeshi Miike eating a HUGE slice of humble pie on this thread this morning. He seems almost gutted we won. Funny that.
Re: Moyes Out
I don't think we should get carried away with the Carabao cup any more than the Europa Conference league. Next level means success in the Premier league. The Draw with Newcastle and losses to Everton; Villa; City and Liverpool along with Olympiacos do not become less significant when we beat Arsenal reserves. As a club we need to progress so that we compete with the best and regularly beat the rest. For the last two years we have been neither attractive to watch or particularly competitive in the league. If that changes so will my attitude to Moyes.

Re: Moyes Out
"What's Moyes's record at Anfield playing his way? Is that something that should be excepted seeing as he's given us success? You should ALWAYS in sport strive to do better his football doesn't do this""¶it wins minor skirmishes and cups where you play ONE decent team""¶."
Re: Moyes Out
"We failed against Olympiacos and Everton because they also play Moyesball and the side aren't coached to attack so end up looking poor even though we had 64% possession! Well that's odd, cause I read on here the other day the reason we had 64% was because Moyes picked Kudus instead of Soucek and by design we had more of the ball, now who was it that said that.. :-)"
Re: Moyes Out
"Why do we need to accept it? When you spend money to have players like Paqueta, Kudus, Alvarez, Ward-Prowse added to the likes of Bowen, or last season having Rice instead of Alvarez, you can play good football AND be successful. They are all good footballers, but the style makes them look like bad footballers. The squad we have is at least on par with Villa and Brighton. If you put Emery or De Zerbi in charge of our team I have no doubt we would have still won the Conference league, but we would also be better to watch, and likely perform better in the league. With the money we spent, we would have been embarrassed not to win that cup when you consider who we actually played."

Re: Moyes Out
"I don't give a shit about possession stats, you're the one obsessed with them. He picked the players the gobshites wanted and beat Arsenal. We defended from the front, worked hard the whole game and dominated the second half. It shows what's capable, even more so if that cսnt allowed/encouraged us to have the ball. It's why the gobshites want him gone"
Re: Moyes Out
Last night was typically right for Moyesball. Had we gone out to attack Arsenal we would have lost im sure. We defended in depth and won with 28% possession. We failed against Olympiacos and Everton because they also play Moyesball and the side aren't coached to attack so end up looking poor even though we had 64% possession! If we go to Liverpool in next round we won't be attacking them except on the break. If we were to win it would only happen with low possession stats. We aren't having 64% possession against Liverpool and winning are we? This is the point most of you need to accept. We've had 3 years of defensive football but more success than we've had in years. Moyes time needs to end this season or sooner if he loses the plot completely. That doesn't necessarily mean the next manager will have more success than Moyes. But we must progress and Moyes has too many failings to keep beyond the end of the season.

Re: Moyes Out
Doesn't change a thing regarding its time for Moyes to go. Let's see how it pans out on Saturday Let's see how he sets the team up Let's see if he brings Antonio back. Can guarantee he can't help himself to play negative souless football and that's why he's ran his course
Re: Moyes Out
"I still want him out. A game that suited his tactics and we were prolific in front of goal and deservedly won. But we can't play when teams sit deep and allow us the ball. As efficient as we were last night it isn't sustainable how many games do you think we can win with 28% possession and 5 shits, not many.."

Re: Moyes Out
"I have wanted him out for ages but every now and again, like last night, he flukes a result or two. But the smug cսnt went into total Moyes cuntishness last night when he was interviewed. When questioned by the female (are you allowed to say that now) Sky reporter about the lack of form and results leading up to this game, he replied ""Well, were in the next round of the cup and were in the top half of the table, so were no doing too bad"" he only needed to add 'ye ken hen' to go full professional smug scot cսnt. Sack him now and get someone who can use this talented squad properly."

Re: Moyes Out
"the superfan lubricant still more worried about other people's opinions, than an enjoying a great win. 'we lot' got it absolutely spot on wanting paqueta in his proper position behind kudus & bowen. football is not for you"
Re: Moyes Out
"we need to build around bowen , kudus and paqueta its so rare to have a player who does the running , the hard work and has the ability on the ball , we have three!!!"
Re: Moyes Out
Some nice stats on this season on Sky Sports build up. 18th on passes in the opposition half 15th on passes 16th on short pass ratio 17th on possession 1st on switches of play Definitely trying to play more attacking football this season though.

Re: Moyes Out
DeZerbi has been very impressive but my impression was that under Potter they would create numerous chances and not score. DeZerbi has been fortunate that a very promising centre forward in Ferguson has emerged and that Mitoma came back in. Think Mitoma had been signed under Potter but went out on loan so he never got the chance to use him.

Re: Moyes Out
"Lopetegui is 57, he's only getting up for a piss once a night at the minute but shouldn't we be going for someone a bit more young and hungry to build something long term?"
Re: Moyes Out
"There's no doubt that Chelsea is a poisoned chalice, but when you look at how much better Brighton have done under de Zerbi you have to question how good Potter actually was. Brighton scored 30 more goals last season than the previous one, which is a huge amount considering none of their players scored more than 10. That said, I saw this thing about xG recently and based on that Brighton should have got 20 more points in 19/20 than they actually did, which would have put them in 5th place."

Re: Moyes Out
"Have said before that I dont think Graham Potter is a bad manager (he tended to make mince meat out of Moyes ) but Chelsea just wasnt the right club for him ... as Poch is showing Someone like Xabi Alonso would obviously be interesting but looks like he has bigger fish to fry. Said a while back that most of the big teams look happy with their managers (though that might change at Man U & Chelsea) so if someone like DeZerbi was looking to step up towards one of those jobs the next step might be someone like us. Brighton are well run and ambitious but with their 20,000-ish stadium they have an upper limit."
Re: Moyes Out
"Reims are currently 5th in Ligue 1 so Will Still looks to be doing okay this year, although they've had an easy start fixture wise, playing all of the current bottom 4 clubs. There was a lot of hype about him last year after going unbeaten his first 17 games in charge, but people don't really mention that he lost 7 of the last 11 games and finished a disappointing 11th. Jury's still out for me."

"Here's that Thomas Frank interview The opposite of Moyes, humble , open and not a defensive, spiky sort https://twitter.com/SkySportsPL/status/1703885118815764858?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1703885118815764858%7Ctwgr%5Efd2f0fab6c59b5bf57277ed238aeca11a1050ff0%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sportinglife.com%2Ffootball%2Fnews%2Fthe-kelly-criterion-is-david-moyes-on-the-hot-seat%2F213394"
Re: Moyes Out
"Hmmm thx Trundle. Sounds like he should be on the list of candidates although French league maybe not as competitive? As per tgat Spirting Life article Ondo e referenced below go listen to Thomas Frank talking about the need to evolve as opposed to Moyes going for ""revolve""ù. It's at the heart of why fans want a change and as per Oliver Reeds character in ""The Gladiator""ù ""Are you not entertained?""ù No Mr Moyes ""we ain't, we are bloody bored sh*tless!!!""ù :-) """

"Reims are currently 5th in their league, Sir Alf. He doesn't appear to be a one season wonder, so far."
