"fraser - I'd honestly go for Potter. Fwiw, I wasn't saying he should stay because we are in Europe, just saying it would seem more harsh to fire him if for example we top the group. As for winning the EL? No more than a 20% chance for me."

"Being in Europe makes us more attractive, but is the right man available? Yes he's done well in Europe, and Europa but completely choked in that semi and the opposition is a lot tougher than the conference. But some seem to think we're going to win it, I'd say we have more chance with another manager."

"Yea it's totally irresponsible of a board at this level of the game, with all the money involved, just to say yea it's shit but as long as we look safe we will just let it peter out until May so not to upset anyone or take too much of a risk. It's an utter nonsense and basically pure neglect, even more so with over 50k ST holders at a club, but that's what you get when you have an old school board. As said, being in Europe, and likely to get out the group, does complicate things to an extent, not to mention the QF of the EFL Cup too."

If Moyes isn't sacked it's another rebuild with the players that will leave. Why would Paq want to stay at a team that can't get top ten

The stupid thing is that matter what happens he will get his contrct paid up whether he is sacked tomorrow or stays till the end of the season... he must know he's not going to get a renewal so why not go for it take some risks... he's got nothing to lose.. but he is so stuck in his ways he can't change!

"Moyes is here until the end of the season. Sullivan won't want to pay compensation. He also won't want to be seen as sacking someone who just brought us our first trophy in 43 years. Moyes will want to do well still because A) win, that's what he does, and B) he'll think he can get another job in the premier league."

"**Talksport reporting that Moyes is in no danger of being sacked, but that it's unlikely that his contract will be extended** HTF does THAT work? Are we to believe he knows he will get to run his contract down, but then he's out..? Laughable - he has zero incentive to improve things... in fact, he can continue to fk up in the hope he'll get 'released' early with his contract fully paid up. If we have genuine intentions to get rid, we should bite the bullet and DO IT. Tim will likely go after Alonso or (my preferred option) Kretinsky's mate DOMENICO TREDESCO."

"AOI - agreed with that re the ""òbig 6'. Is there any other top level manager in Premier League (or pre Premier League) who has such an atrocious record against them? 70 odd away games, not one single victory - is that right? Absolutely laughable."

"If it was up to me he'd have gone well over a year ago. Funnily enough I backed him when he first came and also when he returned. But the longer he's been here the worse things have got. He shows the same glaring flaws as a coach week after week. Yes, he's had two good seasons (6th & 7th) and a euro cup win as well as a euro semi, so fair play to him for those. They are good achievements. But in too many games he serves up atrocious football and relies almost entirely on breakaways. It gets quite depressing watching games where we hardly get a kick. Surely we can play so much better with a more positive coach. And one other point; I really detest Moyes for his atrocious league record against the so called big teams. He seems to go into most of these games with no confidence whatsoever. Anyway I'm sick of the sight of him and would let him go immediately."

"I can't see Moyes moving 'to a 'position upstairs', we have Noble and Steidten in those roles now. I also don't see things getting bad enough for Sullivan to sack Moyes which effectively makes this season a write off with the best we can hope for being a good cup run. You have to assume that Noble and Steidten are actively looking for Moyes's successor and for all we know they may already have someone lined up. I'm would be very surprised if we go for another old style manager. I expect it will be more of a first team coach style appointment with them having very little responsibility for signings etc.. with MN and TS having complete control of that area. I don't know anything about him really but Will Still has maintained his progression this season. Reims (who are historically a very mediocre, yo-yo club) are currently 4th in France after 11 games with a game in hand on the three above them. Would obviously be a enormous risk to bring the 31 yo to the PL but Still obviously has something about him. Is he the sort of appointment we should be making?"

"Talksport reporting that Moyes is in no danger of being sacked, but that it's unlikely that his contract will be extended. Talksport aren't the most reliable source, but most on here already called this outcome as there is very little chance we'll go down so Sullivan won't feel the need to sack him. The last time we were in this sort of situation was under Allardyce. We'd actually made a really good start to the season and were 4th at Christmas if memory serves. However, second half of the season when it was clear the manager wasn't staying, we dropped like a stone and our form fell off a cliff. The uncertainty is not good for the players, why would they respect or play for a manager that they know is on the way out? And what's the motivation for Moyes also if he knows he's going? Better to just part ways now if there's no intention of renewing."

"For me there is not even an argument. Just go over a few details. Our league form since December 2021 has, in general, been poor to average and still almost two calendar years later, shows no sign of improvement. Our transfer dealings inconsistent with no real long term strategy. His management of certain players has been woeful. His integration of new players dreadful. His management of Academy players disgraceful resulting in almost zero players coming through. His methods are outdated. His reliance on one plan has stagnated and doesn't work. He doesn't rotate squads effectively. His in-game management is poor. He is reactive and not pro-active resulting in us not coping with other teams assets. I mean, seriously, I just do not get it. How the fuck is this bloke still in a job?"

"Apparently Moyes is being considered for a ""job upstairs"" rather than the sack according to Claret & Hugh. What possible job could he do at West Ham? How about youth team management for his fine record of seeing youngsters into the first team? No Noble is already on that one. How about pre-scouting the opposition from his fine record of tactical game planning? No Newman has got that one for now. How about stats analysis from his fine record of spotting when players manage to get more than 9 passes in a game? No Nolan has got that one. How about advising the board on future signings from his fine record of getting players that fit WH? No Tim Steidten has got that one. How about errr........errrrr......."

"I said in the lead up to yesterday where we'd have problems. the jock arsehole let our only alternative to alvarez go out on loan, so the centre backs had zero protection. he's fucking clueless, doesn't know how to plan for inevitable injuries/suspensions and puts favouritism over ability in regard to team selection. the day he fucks off will be a reason to celebrate"

"Sir Alf Correct. That bench yesterday and Thursday summed Moyes up. The oldest by far in PL.. one teenager who he never uses. Steve Potts and Hertiga can take over. Potts can manage talent. He'll be off soon, very soon. Someone will spot what he's done in a short time. 24 goals 5 wins 2 draws. 2 EFL wins against League opposition He used Marshall when Mark Robson didn't want him. There is so much talent in that u21 team. I believe they could beat Olympiacos under Potts. Potts knows how to rotate and use them all. ."
