"I totally understand why so many want Moyes out. I have, often. But if you look at the Stats & Facts, any neutral would think it a mad decision to get rid. He's brought us Europe 3 seasons in a row, along with a trophy. We're presently only 6 pts away from a CL place, 2 pts from another automatic European qualification. Still in the Europa League and the League Cup, and fears of Relegation gone before Christmas. Let's take Newcastle as another example. They're performing this season very similarly to us, just 2 pts ahead in the league, still in the league cup, and still with a chance of reaching the KO stages of the CL. IF Newcastle announced tomorrow that they have sacked Eddie Howe - would you not think that they were insane? I know I would. I, like you all, would love us to play expansive, Brazilian type football, but is that a realistic ambition in the EPA. Even Man C, with their billions and flouting of the financial rules are beginning to struggle to keep their mantle. Moyes' football is extremely frustrating - yet it has brought us some fantastic seasons. Some of the best in my 50+ years of supporting the club. And those 50+ years have been sparse in success. Mostly coming in the first 20. I'm not saying 'Moyes In', or 'Moyes out'. In all honesty, I'm on the fence at this moment. But nights like tonight, beating the Scum in their own yard, are rare and priceless as a West Ham fan. It's a true dichotomy."

"Wonder what Moyes says to the prospective transfer players when he's selling them the club, come and play in a purpose built stadium that has a great atmosphere, play in a team that is always on the front foot and plays an exciting attacking brand of football, you'll be able to play in your preferred position with a greater chance of being picked for your national team."

"ATH I can third that statement. Having followed the u21's last night and then seen the highlights they play with freedom,panache,confidence and an understanding even when 3 players from the full squad come and play. Anything to do with coaching and tactics I wonder. I'm sure Steve Potts alongside Hertinga would achieve more and be more proactive until the end of the season."

"That's a good, heartfelt post ATHammer. I'm sure the board see the games and lack of style as well. The difference for them, is that on paper we have moved from being a constant member of the relegation zone to 3 seasons of minor European football. We're making profits too even though we have had the Covid interruption, and an awful waste of money on transfers before the last window under Steidten I'm sure we all would prefer the trigger on Moyes to be pulled now but I expect the board to stick with it until the contract is up and we get a summer to select the right manager to change Moyes' negativity into a new progressive manager with a positive attitude."

Evidence - Results against the top 6; Results since Christmas 2021; trend in results against our peers; trend in results against bottom third teams. I have supported West Ham since 1963 and know full well that every bit of success is to be celebrated and enjoyed. But, I did not get carried away when we won the Inter Toto; I did not get carried away when we beat Arsenal reserves in the cup recently and I cannot get carried away with winning a third rate European competition. I want to see a better style of football with players looking like they enjoy it, care and it excites; I don't want to see good players played out of position, demoralising them and lowering the standard of football; I want to see the squad rotated so players come in and are up to speed when called upon; I want to see youth getting a chance at first team action; I want to see us playing to players strengths. I want to see a manager who can adapt to circumstances in individual games and overtime, evolution. Moyes tells the world he controls the transfers. That being the case his buying and selling is a financial disaster with good players either ruined or charging for the exit at a massive loss. I might be a mug for supporting West Ham, it is in my blood and I can't help it. I most certainly am not a mug for thinking Moyes time should absolutely be up. The evidence suggests otherwise."

"On further reflection, we might want to question why Sullivan brought Steidten in and what his track record was at Dortmund along with his remit? Was it simply to do better in transfer dealings after a series of horrendous losses on players like Anderson, Haller and Vlasic etc? Or did Steidten get the Director of Football role tho do much more including trying to improve our success on the field. His first season coincided with a welcome first trophy ( albeit 3rd tier ) in Europe but we have to hope that Sullivan has entrusted the football side to the German. That being the case, Steidten will continue to drive recruitment and the type of players we get. Then he will want a ""coach""ù ( European and now mostly EPL model ) to get the most out of these investments in the playing side. Unless there is a significant change in how we play or Moyes gets us up into 7th or beyond by end of season or gets to the final of the Europa or several of these, I would think he will not have his contract renewed? Logic suggests that although I do realise Sullivan and logic are not always talked about in the same breath :-) Imo we will not win any trophies and be mid table in the league at best. That should see the change most want and is required for us to progress which is achieving better league results than the last 24 months and regularly getting in and around European qualifying positions and making a domestic final or perhaps even winning one. Some will say that's what Moyes has done last 3 years but if that comes to an end as I expect this season he's gone. If he wins the Europa or League or FA cup or we finish in the European places it's hard again to get rid. A win win perhaps ? :-)"

"I reckon that the chatter around the ""West Ham project""ù suggests that Steidten will be directing this project which means it's the end for Moyes. There's no way Moyes will fit in to a modernisation and growth project."
