"nyc - It's absolutely a risk to replace a manager who has done pretty well, everyone must know that and also know why, BUT, I really do hope we go for it come the summer. If we finish well then I would have some understanding whatever Sullivan decides on, he would have a massive call to make."

"Will, I tend to agree - whether we like it or not unless there is a burning ambition from the very top to do better than what we are already doing, then any cup success and a European berth for next season could well see a new contract forthcoming. I think Sullivan is probably very happy with where we are at this point, that isn't to say we shouldn't be keeping our options open."

"On paper Moyes has been relatively successful, lets all agree on that. The problem is consistency. We lurch from good result to bad result and back again. He's neither consistently good enough for top 6 or bad enough for the sack but he somehow seems to do just about enough. Its almost infuriating in a way because when it goes wrong its miserable and normally because Moyes is pragmatic and stubborn when it comes to tactics and selection and its a difficult watch as a fan. When we get it right however it does provide the results. I've been on the fence and either side of it in the past season when it comes to Moyes. I think to replace him is a risk and one we must take only if the right replacement is found. We have the next 6 months to figure it out."

"It's not really a front three is it, you wouldn't say Paqueta is playing as a forward for most of the Match."

What I see is Bowen has 11 prem goals in 17 games and Kudus has 6 in 15. Throw in Paquetas numbers and we have a front 3 that's output suggests Moyes is getting the absolute best out of them. If they were starved of the ball these numbers would not be possible. Grealish as an example had 7 prem league goals last season Diaz has 1 in 14 this season. There are others but just two examples of players that play regularly under top managers that are not producing at the level our 3 are. Enjoy it and Merry Christmas to all.

If you're gonna post nonsense about football then expect to get picked up on it. If you're gonna cry about that then maybe this isn't the place for you.

"""He also spent heavily on two player that never adapted to the premier league."" to be fair to Anderson, he had 11 goals and 11 assists in his brief time with us. Haller also scored 14 goals in a similar time period. the problem is players not adapting to that miserable jock cսnt"

Hammer and Pickle 12:50 Sun Dec 24 How do you reconcile playing players 'out of position' with being 6th in the league? How much higher do you think we would be if they were played 'in position'?

"Thing is Johnny, it's a bit of a hard ask to give Moyes the credit for the likes of Paqueta and Kudus in particular. What with Moyes's favourite formation involves them being played either out of position or starved of the ball (Kudus finds himself doing an awful lot of defending as well), often as not leading to a 5-0 tonking (FULHAM FFS!) while our best is as different as chalk and cheese. You surely see this being a football man after all (I'm just a personal relations coach). Anyway Merry Christmas all 🎄🩷🤍🩵"

"Don't get me wrong, Johnny - I'm far from rating Pellegrini. However, I also know I can't say Moyes did more than sign on the dotted line with the key players today. After all, he certainly doesn't show he can use them very well, what with yesterday not being decided until he finally moved Paqueta central and withdrew Soucek to virtually standing on Zouma's toes."

"H&P Pellegrini had more money thrown at him in his short tenure than any other previous manager. The reason we had those standard of players was completely on him. He also spent heavily on two player that never adapted to the premier league. We have 3 players today that are close to being world class that Moyes brought to the club, he deserves credit for that. So when people say it was the players who won the game and not Moyes that BS. Every manager lives and dies by their recruitment. Enjoy having a front 3 that is operating as good if not better than any in the league, when was the last time we could ever say that."

I wondered if mccoist had seen the press conference where the reporter asked him a similar question and got the same, oddball reaction"

"Fraser that is way ahead of joyo's mental capacity. When people say that we've not had this consistency in the league, it's true but we've never had this level on investment and infrastructure before. This is what we should be doing. Good result yesterday but look at the team they had out and the form they're in. We should be beating that Manchester United team. If we ever want to progress we've got to change the mindset."
