Re: Moyes Out
'People talk about Arteta but Moyes has beaten him comprehensively this season already.' Not as comprehensively beaten as Moyes was by Marco Silva.
Re: Moyes Out
"The sp*rs game. One of thr worst first halves I've ever seen from a west ham team. How we weren't 7-0 down at half time I'll never know. 2nd half was so much better. The result draws attention away from the fact that if sp*rs could score goals and been clinical ilthr way we were we'd have been buried Same.with arsenal to some extent. But we were much better last night,.more focused and actually retained the ball.occasioanlly."

"Mad Dog 2:12 Sat Dec 30 Re: Moyes Out And there are still going to be games like that, but what about the comeback against Tottenham? There we were able to turn it around, go for it and turn them over."

Re: Moyes Out
"Not sure what you have all been watching over the past few decades but there are always some dire games - lots of them, and usually more defeats. Everton have also gone on to put some good results together - especially after the last few games I don't think that game is a relevant benchmark. I think good teams are built on first being difficult to beat and defensively solid, then trying to add flair. I think the chances of success and good football are higher from allowing Steidten to add a few more quality players to solid foundations than from blowing everything up and starting again with a new and likely untested manager. I certainly wouldn't be devastated if he wasn't offered a new deal though - but it's nice to see a bit of success. Back in August I thought we'd be dire - but Moyes and the team have put some fantastic results together with some great play - together with some dross - but there's literally always been dross - and probably always will be. People talk about Arteta but Moyes has beaten him comprehensively this season already."
Re: Moyes Out
He was also at the wolves game (and olympiacos) He enjoyed the wolves one which further baffled him as to why we were so shite against Everton and to some extent olympiacos. Especially Everton when were losing and still not going for it.
Re: Moyes Out
"My take is that Moyes has been influenced by TS. He's already said that he's given our front three permission to roam and mix things up - something he admitted that he's never done before. And I doubt that he's ever had such three attacking talents at his disposal, and I include his spell at Man Utd, where he took over an aging squad. His smash and grab tactics have worked a treat this season, as he has the players who are capable. Take Kudus's goals. If Antonio had been in the exact position that he was, he would have got one, at the most. And if rumours are to believed, him and TS are now getting on well. The proof will be in the pudding, of course, so let's see how he sets up against Brighton and Sheff Utd. Though I've disagreed with Twoleftfeet's posts, where we are at the moment, I'm beginning to think that his judgments are right."
Re: Moyes Out
"Doesn't that kind of underline the point though, Capitol? When we are positive, we can take these teams apart such as the Wolves game. There is a time and a place for last night's set up, Everton at home is not it. No complaints against the teams that will dominate the ball no matter what. Nobody expects to win every game, but he should know how to approach different games."

"Mad Dog 12:04 Sat Dec 30 Re: Moyes Out How do you think he'd have felt about the Wolves game, or Man U?"
Re: Moyes Out
Your mate might not have enjoyed the game but is that a reason for the board to change the manager when they sell every seat in the ground for every league match?
Re: Moyes Out
"Put it this way. Took mate who's a yeovill fan the other week to thr Everton game. Yeovill are 2nd tier of non league. Even he couldn't believe how shit, boring negative and slow it was. He said ""You're losing, there's 10 minutes to go and you're still not attacking. Why?"""

"KD and the Tena ladies would rather us have gone to Arsenal, played expansive football and been smashed 6-2. Weird fuckers. Not one expert has called us lucky, the only ones doing so are our, alleged, own fans."
Re: Moyes Out
The below says it all imo and perhaps a reason for hope regardless of whether Moyes stays or goes: Mad Dog 9:15 Fri Dec 29 Re: Moyes Out Also remember steidten got alvarez and kudos Moyes wanted mctominey and maguire

Re: Moyes Out
"Mad Dog. Your are spot on. I go 5 to 8 games a season and the occasional away game. Away games you don't give a fuck , Its about a day out and much more like an old school atmosphere. At home its a different story, Costs a fortune with the grandkids and I've had the misfortune of Everton and Palace this season. If I didn't bother with going and the expense I would no doubt be happier. Brighton next week and I have tickets and I'm dreading it if we play shit. Moyes has given me the best fucking night of my life in 43 years and a summer to enjoy and just for that he deserves a new contract, with how we have somehow got where we are at the end of the year. What frustrates the fuck out of me is how we have a front three that any team would bite your hand off for apart from City and we still have by and large a defensive mindset. Our front three is light years of ahead of Arsenals so why do we need to play smash and grab. Lastly, whilst smash and grab is all very well, if you don't have the ball you can't score a goal and we spend way too much time home and away not having the ball. That is what sucks the life at the watching experience. We all know there have been games where it appears the players have gone fuck this with the plan and gone on the attack and its worked. Moyes needs to let the shackles off and go for it apart from big team away games like last night. Who knows where we end of up, but at least to the paying supporters they have got there moneys worth"
Re: Moyes Out
"Can't help but think that the Prem vs Bundesliga is a different kettle of kippers though. But fine, can't argue with your ambition."
Re: Moyes Out
None. However I want to move forward. I'm.not saying sack moyes either. I'm saying don't renew his contract. Part ways amicably in May and let's see.how gar we can go with this. Steidten did wonders at leverkusen. They're now top of their league above bayern with the team.he built and manager he picked. I want to give him a chance at picking the next manager. And maybe just maybe I wouldn't be bored out of my tits week in and week out.
Re: Moyes Out
"Fair enough doggy. Genuine question then - If you could swap our fortunes with another comparable team's fortunes over the last three years, who would you swap for?"

Re: Moyes Out
"Tell you what. When you spend 6 hours every other weekend and a fuck ton of money on 2 season tickets, food, drink and travel it's much less fun. Especially as the turgid football has sucked any semblance of life out of the atmosphere. You might agree. However as its from the warmth of your sofa when you can switxh it off at a moments notice it's a little easier to digest My biggest problem with him isn't occasionally digging out a result or even losing. It's the pig headed stubbornness to adapt to a situation. Chelsea home? Low block. Crystal Palace home? Low block Change the game? Got a bench of 9 people fornals (with shot confidence now) can come on after 80 mins. Maybe ings for an expensive waste of time cameo. Young or fringe players? No chance. We've had a LOT of lucky results this season. Burnley etc and the Fulham tanking was coming. Luckily for us neither sp*ra nor arsenal could hit a cows arse with a banjo as we should have been murdered jn both. We got away with it. But if we want to grow and evolve we need to let steidten work his magic"
Re: Moyes Out
"I've watched every game for a few years now.... from my sofa. Not always the most exciting football, but what I don't get is - who regulsrly plays nice stuff and gets consistent results? I'm of the opinion that we're in slow transition from a team that plays gash and gets shit results, to a team that can play some alright stuff, who transitions from defence to attack with speed and is getting consistency over the course of a season. With a plan to slowly improve personnel and consequently style and results."
