"I couldn't stand Fat Sam and watched his side beat Norwich one wet Tuesday in the championship with a last minute header, I said after the match it was the worst game of football I have ever paid to watch, over the last 2.5 seasons we have been dished up the same or worse at times. We need a younger manager with a more modern approach."

"Brick Lane Take a look at the goal again - yes Dinos under hits it but Fabianski was slow to react and Zouma just let the striker go didn't track back and if he had would've cut out the shot instead of sprinting last minute and missing it.... Zouma is hot he hobbles around the pitch like he's disabled (no offence meant to any one who actually is disabled). Where was Alvarez, Fornals and Ogbonna were they all injured/ill?"

"I know we made nothing of our multiple corners last night but one, about midway through the first half (ie before we'd proved we could do fuck all from them) was taken short and after 30 seconds of fucking about ended up being passed back to Fabianski.. ffs!"

brick_lane_batty_boy 2:27 Wed Jan 17 Re: Moyes Out That really bugs me as well. Most of them do it but if Soucek passes to Coufal it generally ends up back with the keeper

"Surely any idea of Moyes being renewed is out the window? SHIRLEY! To be honest I'd ship the likes of Benrahma, Ings , Cresswell (Cornet maybe deserves a chance) out the door whatever the price. Replace their minutes with the likes of Marshall, Scarles , Kodua , Chesters etc Cant be any worse. After the early goal in the first match we effectively played 180 mins v an average Championship team without scoring Surely Steidtens first job is finalising next seasons manager so they are ready to go in late May"

Sold I must agree Cornet was a let down although did get our one decent cross in when played in his proper position. I would like him given another chance I his proper position . Not hopeful but wide left is wheee he likes to play. If he is underwhelming again then at least we know. Problem before last night is we never saw if had anything to offer Mind u that's the good thing about Tommy. We at least know he has nothing to offer if we want to play anything other than Moyesball. He really is our least effective player

"Sixth is a false position and if you think otherwise, you're a fucking idiot. If we finish sixth I'll eat my words, but the amount of points we have absolutely blagged this season - Spurs, Burnley, Forest, Chelsea, Newcastle off the top of my head - law of averages suggests some will go against us soon. We are not the sixth best team in the league, and if you remove two of Bowen, Paqueta, Kudus we are probably in the running for sixth worst team."

"We are 6th at the moment but I don't reckon that many of us expect that to last. I know that there is no way that Moyes will go before the end of the season (if then!) but a club with any serious intentions on building and getting better would pull the plug now. We have 34 points, we aren't in any danger of being dragged into a relegation battle. If the right manager is available (and I don't mean Jose) get him in with half a season to get to grips with the task and then hit next season running."

"Benrahma cost us the game, ref was weak against Bristol kicking fuck out of us as two of theirs would have been sent off if var was there,Cornet is dogshit, all our best players were missing Understand people having hump with Moyes but not entirely his fault Season not over just yet,6th in league is ok"

"Most infuriating thing for me is the under hit pass - slightly behind it's intended target - so the recipient is not only panicked on receipt, but also facing backwards instead of forward. It's fucking basic, but jesus they all do it other than maybe Pacqueta / Kudus/ Bowen. I don't actually think JWP is that good - I would much rather us get Mctominay - but at the same time, JWP looks a much better player in there with Alvarez/ Paq - rather than playing alongside Soucek"

"Hopefully that's the last time he tries 5 at the back. We were fucking awful. Awful formation, awful tactics, awful team line up. We'd be fucking idiots offering him any kind of contract extension now. Seeing as we always give out contracts when it's obvious someone's time is up (Cresswell/Ogbonna) I fully expect the idiots in charge to give him one ASAP."

He never subs soucek because it would take 15 minutes for him to run off the pitch

Thing is Moyes loves a bit of 'experience' in his line up... but because he can't manage a squad he is left with a second string of players who's 'experience' is now under him..... thinking he is an utter cսnt of a man manager......

"Sir Alf 12:44 Wed Jan 17 Re: Moyes Out It's because Moyes plan a (if you can call it a plan) doesn;t require possession and he relies on set pieces and knock downs. Since that has dried up his shortcomings are clear. It happened last year and he did get dropped, but then as soon as there were injuries he was straight back in. This is why I'm astonished Moyes gets a free ride in the media. He's basically playing the same way, same format, same tactics as he was at Everton years ago. Soucek being the Fellaini"

"Sir Alf, what is a white elephant in the room? Though not particularly disagreeing with you about Soucek when considering who was available last night who would you have picked instead of him?"

"Soucek is the proverbial ""white elephant in the room""ù. Only thing he can do is head it or occasionally get on the end of a cross. That's it. As a footballer, in terms of ability with his feet ( control and passing ) and pace, I'm not sure he would be a standout in the Championship? His compatriot Coufal is another technically player but we have a fair few of those and the theme ""lack of pace""ù' is the signature of all Moyes teams going back to Everton. I bore on about Soucek to drive everyone mad but I've never seen such an obvious weak point in a team get away with it. It's beyond bizarre. The problem gets exacerbated against the few teams where we do have some possession. He's picked for being able to defend aerially in a low block system and get on the end of set pieces and crosses occasionally ( key word ) Im dumbfounded ( but not enough to shut up about it :-) )"

"While yesterday was a shocker, I think everyone could see that was coming. What gets me is Moyes is talking about missed chances, Cornet should have scored but I can only think of that and the Soucek chance? I don't lay yesterday firmly down to him but he has mismanaged his squad. some of these players don't look interested and why should they? they know once we get kudus, bowen, paqueta back they will be lucky to get 1 minute at the end of another game. Soucek doesn't even look good at championship level yet plays 90 minutes every week. Benhrama is a shadow of the player who came in who could beat defenders regularly, now looks clueless, moyes ruined him by critising him constantly when he played well. OK Mubama isn't good enough but that's not to say we can't try some of these other youth players out? At least they will be more up for it than Cresswell, Cornet, Benhrama. Moyes reign has mostly been about trying to be solid and hoping for some magic from individuals and set pieces. All his mates at talksport saying how can we moan, 6th, in europe, league cup qf and fa cup. well that's 2 down, 2 to go"

Your last sentence is indeed key Manuel. Got to hope Sullivan has empowered Steidten and that Steidten is more ambitious than just about every other member of West Ham's management team or owner since the club was founded.

Qualifying for Europe through a league place is our best bet bit that will be hard. Whatever we achieve in the Europa is a bonus.

"The fact that we don't have to get rid of him as such, as his contract is up, must surely way in our favour. Yes It could come down to if we're in Europe again, but that l is looking unlikely right now, best case would be the Conference after finishing say 8th. Reaching the SF in Europe won't give him any brownie points, you'd like to think. May also depend on what managers are available and how much clout Timmy has, etc."
