"I don't think it's exclusive to those at the back, blbb. I get massively pissed off that we can't even seem to take a throw in without giving it to the opposition."

Re: Moyes Out
I hope we will win a trophy every year so winning one was fucking great. I expect us to win the Europa this year because if you don't you're just negative. If we don't win and don't get in to the European positions this year he's off.

Re: Moyes Out
"Council Scum 12:42 Tue Jan 23 Re: Moyes Out I'm not aware of this divide between the Moyes out brigade - but it may well exist. I've said this before - I'm not saying sack him because I expect the next manager to make us more successful - or take us to another level. That's really not the case with me - My issue is solely style based - and a product I prefer / vs one I detest. If there are some that think changing Moyes will lead to further success - and this is our divine right - then I don't necessarily agree with this. Council I agree - first trophy I'd seen in my lifetime - You could say Moyes delivered it - the other side of the coin is that the competition was so weak, we had one of, if not the strongest squad in the Conference league - So in theory, should've been well placed to contest it. I think we won it in spite of him, not because of him - others think he was the driving force behind etc etc - Each to their own. To your point about the last 45 years (We're similar age) - I always felt, that outside of the top 5 - we would always have a lot of the ball - I've never supported West Ham for success (thankfully!) - So I have don't have expectations of trophy laden seasons - I always felt we tried to play the right way - which in my opinion is pass the ball, try to win the game all done with a touch of style and flair. Maybe I am deluded - I probably am tbh"

Re: Moyes Out
"brick_lane_batty_boy 11:24 Tue Jan 23 Spot on about players can be coached. There will be some that don't have the technique but keep it simple play it quick with 1 or 2 touches and knowing where ur team mates are without looking all comes from relentless drills in training sessions each day. But you got to be open minded to that way of playing. Moyes has the football equivalent of the ""innovators dilemma""ù where a company gets success with its product but fails to change when say a new technology comes along and it then goes bust. Kodak were the prime example not responding to the digital camera. Ok a daft analogy but that's the way it may be for Moyes. He knows his one way or system and tactics and cannot let go of it as it's largely kept him employed. Now every team playing much more possession based and he doesn't want to show he's not as good as them at coaching it? Not sure what he was doing when he said he had a forced lay off after the sack by Sunderland? Reckoned he went to RB Leipzig and all over Europe studying different methods and teams? Probably in the bar on the whiskey or fried breakfasts and forgot to do the studying bit ? ;-)"

Re: Moyes Out
""" and lack any kind of ambition"" Lack ambition? I support West Ham, what a ridiculous statement to make. 45 years of watching West Ham, I've watched a lot worse and seen us in a lot worse positions. We are 6th, I've seen us play better football and get relegated, so I don't give a fuck if I'm not being entertained for 90mins week in week out, because I rarely have been in 45 years. I do like watching us in Europe which we now do regularly and saw us lift a European trophy with my son. Which was a massive bucket list ticked. But yeah, you carry on playing championship manager and thinking you are more ambitious."

Re: Moyes Out
"I watched Leicester v Ipswich last night - Would absolutely love our board to have the bollox to go and get in someone like Kieran McKenna. The main thing that stood out for me - was how comfortable their defenders were on the ball - receiving it off the keeper, being confident enough to go back to him - and finding a way out , rather than a hopeful lump upfield. Even their keeper was picking out the forward if the need was there to bypass the press. I think my point is that those Ipswich defenders are what would generally be considered pretty average in comparative terms. One or two journeymen, couple of youngsters - Maybe players that had previously played in systems which were more direct. What it proves - is that players can be coached - and defenders can be confident on the ball when they have a clear coherent plan/system on where to go next, irrespective of their ball playing ability (I'm saying if you're a pro these days, you should even be able to do the most basic passing) Once they got into the middle of the park / final third - they were fast, controlled, concise in their passing - and posed a real threat. Was genuinely a pleasure to watch."
Re: Moyes Out
Hello chaps! Back in thank god. I see from Claret and Hugh if the cսnt jock gets a new deal it will only be a one year rolling contract. If that's true I doubt he will accept it !The photo of Terry Brown and the jock's brother is the funniest thing I've seen in a long time.

Re: Moyes Out
"""yet they're all falling over each other agreeing it's time for Woy to move on from Palace, who's in pretty much the same position at Moyes is"" How does that work Lee? Palace are near the bottom of the PL and have only won 5 games, out of both Cups as well. Granted we (Moyes!) have blown (thrown) the domestic Cups but i highly suspect we will be all guns blazing in the Europa and we are 6th in the PL. How in any shape or form is it a similar situation to Woy. Manuel 6:28 Mon Jan 22 I know, now fuck off.....LOL"

Re: Moyes Out
"mallard 5:34 Mon Jan 22 ""How is Roy Hodgson pretty much in the same position as Moyes?"" Sorry, I didn't explain that too well. I meant in terms of money spent and where they are. Both us and Palace are where they should be compared to how much they've spent, but both teams are playing horrendous football. No one is really telling Palace BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR."
Re: Moyes Out
"Council Scum 4:56 Mon Jan 22 Let's see where we are end of the season. Not sure whether some of this forum actually watch games, but if you do you are obviously easily please and lack any kind of ambition"
