Re: Moyes Out
"When in our history have we been one of the biggest transfer spenders in world football over a sustained period, have one of the most expensive squads in world football, have 3 players at one time who would get in any (or most) teams in the world, and have the 2nd biggest regular attendance in the Premier League? Or are we supposed to shrug at all that, because we've always been shit?"

Re: Moyes Out
"I've never once said we haven't tried to play football in the past, I've stated, because its right, that we haven't always STRIVED to pay football.as you claim, its complete bollocks. Which you talk a lot of"
Re: Moyes Out
"Lads, I've contacted Mr Moyes doctor who says he hasn't been feeling very well since Hugh Southon mentioned the other day he is only likely to be offered a one year rolling contract from next season."

Re: Moyes Out
"Here is a bit of what was said about our most successful manager after his passing.... ""He was a much-loved figure at Upton Park and had a lasting influence on the club's development and the way the team played. Like Ron Greenwood before him, he encouraged good, open attacking football"" Then Redknapp as far as I'm concerned carried this on as well.....that is large chunk of why West Ham was a good pick......but according to one poster this never happened."

"Then I'm right, Side insists we have always strived to play football, I said it's bollocks and it is. It's a myth just like The Academy of football thing."

Re: Moyes Out
Side & Scum you are both wrong - sometimes we did and sometimes we didn't - it depends on who was manager at the time!!!

Re: Moyes Out
Imo yes we did......now we have no intention but to sit back let them have the ball.....by choice....under the managers instructions.

Re: Moyes Out
"Never said it did 'dictated', I said it spoiled a good football match being played, we always strived to do this but often failed for a number of reasons against these type of teams it was because they had no intention of going end to end but instead sat back and low blocked. You think that is being the better football team."

Re: Moyes Out
"We didn't lose to them because we tried to play the West Ham way, How they played football, doesn't dictate how we played football against them. For whatever reason, you can't seem to grasp that."

Re: Moyes Out

Re: Moyes Out
"""West Ham had always looked to play decent football it's why Bolton under Fat Sam were able to spoil our game for a result against us and Moyes did the same with Everton."" That's your statement, you think that Bolton and Everton ""spoiled our game"" because we tried to play football more than them, with some ridiculous notion that we have always ""strived"" to play football. We lost to them because we were shit (as we have been a lot over the years) Not because we tried to play the ""West Ham way"" just the same as this notion that we are the academy of football. It's only bought into by idiots."

Re: Moyes Out
"Nope, we're talking about football not what result you can get by stopping football being played. That is what you are saying is 'better than us' Now you try again....."

"Possession of a ball doesn't equate to ""better than us"" Any more than their style of play dictated ours. Try again."

Re: Moyes Out
For them to be better than us they'd have to have possession of the ball......what they really did is go into games to spoil any football being played by their opposition and hope to nick a goal or two to win off a set play or break away move. You have that down as football......I don't.......ho-hum.....

"Side You think we lost to Bolton and Everton because we tried to play football, it wasn't, it was because they were better than us."
Re: Moyes Out
"Shit football is an emotive judgement and shouldn't be the reason for sacking a manager if it gets results and keeps bums on seats. Moyes deserves firing for his indecision on buying players he doesn't use and plays out of position. His one dimension tactics. Inflexible use of subs. Not giving youth a scoobies unless they threaten to leave. Playing poor favourites over better squad players. I'm okay with defensive football if it works. But if the board have ambitions they will see that we have outgrown Moyes. For that reason he needs to be let go""¶"

Re: Moyes Out
"I would love us to strive to play football or just have the fucking ball more in the future regardless of what happened in the past I accept we've mainly been shit in the past and I accept results wise last season aside that Moyes has done well. I don't accept because we've been shot in the past another coach couldn't do equally as well as Moyes with the talent he has in the squad while having the ball a bit more and being on the front foot a bit more.. Then maybe when I'm at games most around me won't be chatting about what they're doing that night, where they're going on their holidays etc because they're not engaged in the game I also accept others are happy as long as we're doing OK and not struggling, but it's not for me."
