"Well if its Steidten or Moyes its oike tge choice between a cold and ebola. Sullivan will choose Moyes if Steidten wants more control and automony. Sulli will be scared of dealing with someone with intelligence and opt for the sychophantic jock ? Another ""sliding doors""ù moment? We usually let the doors shut :-("
Re: Moyes Out
letsalldotheBarthez 8:16 Mon Feb 19 There can't be many people that feel.sorry for a bloke that lost 20 league games last year and survived relegation by 5pts with the squad he had at his disposal. He should feel lucky he's managed to worm another 4 years of management in the best league in world for a club that has 57k ST holders and a chairman that buys him ¬£50m Brazilian internationals (that he plays out of position on thr left üôÑ)

Re: Moyes Out
"From the BBC website - Fans Voice 'It is difficult to see how Moyes can take us even further' We are without a win in eight games in all competitions. We have scored just two goals from open play in that time, four in total. We have failed to beat relegation-threatened Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest. We have been thrashed by Manchester United and Arsenal. We have been knocked out of the FA Cup in the third round by Championship club Bristol City. All of that, and we are only six weeks into 2024. West Ham ended 2023 having lost just twice in 12 games, while victories over Tottenham, Manchester United and Arsenal sparked discussions about David Moyes being offered a renewed deal. But now, fans are unfurling ""Moyes Out"" banners and speculation in the press regarding an imminent change in the dugout intensifies by the hour. With every passing week, every passing defeat, fans are beginning to turn. They are sick of turning up to watch West Ham defend instead of attack, to watch the opposition play with the ball instead of West Ham, to watch a squad clearly devoid of confidence go out there without any real plan or tactical nous. Of course, they are unhappy. Yes, Moyes' time at West Ham since he returned has been nothing short of outstanding. Back-to-back top-seven finishes, a Europa League semi-final, three consecutive European campaigns for the first time in history and a first trophy since 1980 were only pipe dreams when he took over from Manuel Pellegrini. But that does not mean he should stay in the job much longer. He has revived a football club and given it a platform, but it is becoming increasingly clear that that is as far as he will be able to take us. It is difficult to see how he can take us even further, especially now he has already lost a large percentage of the fanbase. The only right thing to do now is to thank him for his unbelievable service and replace him with a manager who has fresh ideas and the ability to build on what Moyes has built. Leaving the club now will not undo what he has achieved. His legacy will live on. For now. But the longer he stays to oversee the downfall of that legacy, the weaker it will be for years to come.' Is the worm beginning to turn?"

"Talkshite drivetime show asking ""Do you feel sorry for David Moyes?"" ha ha I feel sorry that he prob cant see the MOYES OUT banners from his technical area."
Re: Moyes Out
"Roy's played a blinder. Hours from the sack he goes ill and steps down with no extra sacking or a relegation on his CV! Ok no compensation but he is a multi millionaire anyway. Seriously best wishes to him, not a great manager but seems a decent guy."
Re: Moyes Out
"""Hodgson has stepped down as palace manager I wish to fuck Moyes would do the same"" Indeed, and Palace fans vocally piling it on where it matters. Huge banners that are front an centre on BBC Sport page. ""Wasted Potential, on and off the pitch. Weak Decisions. Taking us backwards"" That's Sullivan, Brady and Moyes to a tee. We showed up with a couple of A4 size printouts at Forest."

Re: Moyes Out
We won't finish 14th . No chance too many good players in the side . Like last season the players will end up ignoring his instructions.

Re: Moyes Out
"Harry Redknapp said""¶ ""David is not a fool. He's getting the best out of what he's got. It's not easy on the eye for the fans, as they want to see more attacking football, but I don't know if they will because that isn't David's way of playing.""ù That's exactly the reason fans want him out despite results."
Re: Moyes Out
"Whilst I would love to see attractive attacking football it isn't generally the style that I'm annoyed about. Sitting deep and hitting teams on the counter can be exciting ""but"" you need the right players and that what baffles me with Moyes. Antonio gets a lot of stick and rightly so but when it was all working it has to be said Antonio was a part of that. He isn't a natural finisher and isn't going to score you 25 goals a season, we know that, but at his best he was a battering ram, held it up and had pace to boot. Much of which he has now lost due to injury and age. So, when you need a back up or a replacement logic suggests you go out and but someone who can do a similar job. Not the answer admittedly but just an example would be Adama Traore. You could almost understand it if Moyes had brought him in and tried to turn him into a striker. But Moyes goes out and brings in Haller, Scamacca and Ings who cannot play that role. I mean Bowen can't even play that role! Similar with Lingard. Six cracking months, probably more luck than judgement, but it worked. Moyes wanted him which was fair enough, but when turned down he persisted chasing rather than scouting for someone who could do the same job. Dawson with his set piece positives at each end, replace with same. Get hard working speedsters on either wing not step over Benrahma who falls over at the sight of a challenge! Whether Moyes got himself stuck between a rock and a hard place I don't know. Maybe he wanted of felt he needed to play more progressive football and thought he would do that with new recruits, but once he couldn't achieve that he reverted to type with players whose strengths weren't sitting back and hitting on the counter. If you believe in a style of play and that's your strength as a manager fair enough but then your recruitment has to match that philosophy."

Re: Moyes Out
Eerie Descent 2:55 Mon Feb 19 exactly. It's not stylish football for the sake of it. It's actually the only long term way to sustain a football club. All this percentage crap is always short lived. I dont think there is any team that survives playing that football in the top flight for a long period. It's usually a few seasons and it all collapses.
Re: Moyes Out
"The biggest problem Moyes has apart from the shit non entertainment football is he's become a victim of his own susscess(6th,7th,first trophy for 43yrs,3 seasons in Europe)"
Re: Moyes Out

Re: Moyes Out
"As others have said, the football is mostly horrible but it has gotten results, and some of those VERY fortuitous. Now we have our key playmaker out we're scoring no goals - and our defence has chipped in and had a mare in the last 3 games. Moyes likely will keep us in the PL with his safety first dour brand, but for the money spent that's bad value. Luton would have wiped the floor with us yesterday and they have fuck all to spend. Its not good enough. There's no way on earth he should be offered a new contract and hence no point in him hanging about and stinking the place out, but I'm really starting to wonder if they have actually been considering this. Hopefully the last few results have laid bare how folly a decision that might be"
Re: Moyes Out
"The issue for me is cery simple, we play arguably the worst football in the league for anyone that really has a go money wise, and when you've had to watch it for 4/5yrs and the wheels start to come off the fanbase just get fed up with it. Web had a bit of a bounce with Lingard, prime Antonio and the emergence of Declan Rice, but we've been pretty poor for a couple of years now and the fabs just get sick of it. Its always different when you view it from the outside, 'you're 6th what more do you want?' 'Hold on you're 8th where do you expert to be' heard Jeff Stelling say this morning 'you're top half arent you?' to someone. But when you commit as much time, effort and money as a real.fan does, eventually you just end up getting sick if it. He's been here too long, he can't get results anymore, he's never really had the fans onside, and now it looks like the players mightve chucked it, and I'm sorry but that's all his fault. Time to go at the end of the season, he can leave with our thanks, but also huge relief"

Re: Moyes Out
I really do wish people would stop quoting 6th place this season - The season doesn't end in fucking December - there's a prick replying on that football365 story. Season ends in May - Hence spurs not actually winning the league in September contrary to popular belief
