"Lee - yea seem to recall that but I thought Potter turned the job down. Nobody seems to know if they are going to stick with Ten Haag or not, if not I suspect they may have Potter lined up, I don't think too many will judge what happened with him at Chelsea since it's such a fuck up there."

If there is to be a new manager it would be so right to bring him in now . But then that would be a professional move.

"Manuel: ""Like most I want a change, but accept it's a risk and no guarantees of anything."" Totally agree with this. Change is always a risk...but risks are not just to be avoided at all costs. Upside vs Downside and the ability to manage those risks is the key. I think most of us recognise there are risks attached. The same as we all recognise there are risks to no changing: Come examples of these: - We lose the Sporting Director brought into modernise us, Sullivan hails it a failure and we go back to Sullivan as Director of Football - We fail to capitalise on the current golden crop of youth talent who are sweeping all before them because Moyes neither trusts nor knows how to deal with Youth. - We decline, with Paqueta leaving, Moyes replacing him with some massively inferior model like Barkley whom he 'trusts', and we get the kind of results as standard when Paqueta was out. - Paqueta leaves, Moyes fails to show the ambition needed, Kudus leaves, Bowen sees the direction of travel and leaves and it all unravels. - Moyes reverts to Sunderland/Sociedad level Moyes, and we get relegated - The rest of the league continues to develop while we stand still We have to acknowledge the risks of NOT changing as well as the risks of change. Sticking with Moyes is also a risk...and Professional football is not a game of standing still, as doing so while others progress simply means you move slowly backwards."

"Trundle I reckon he'll be at Liverpool if Alonso goes to Bayern. Great shout though. Will be interesting to see what happens with man united and ten hag as well. If they get rid of him and go for de zerbi, Brighton are gonna be looking for a new manager as well. Need to start sounding them out now."

"Bank - Nope, all I'm seeing here is cliquey type, immature posts slating Moyes while bigging up all the potential candidates. Steidten has been bigged up on here like some footballing messiah ever since he come in, I find it all rather embarrassing if I'm honest. Very cliquey and child like. Like most I want a change, but accept it's a risk and no guarantees of anything."

You're nuts if you think we're winning the Europa League. The bookies even have Brighton ahead of us in the betting market.

"joyo fair point and in that scenario he would stay, if he chooses to & a fair few of us would have to suck it up, albeit happy with another trophy. Personally I feel too much water has flowed under the bridge and I'd twist, however do you trust Sullivan to choose the right option? Manuel, not sure that's what any of us are saying when quashing the myth that we have to be careful of what we wish for. There's plenty of good coaches with respected experience out there"

"Let's not be silly here. It's not about expecting a ""glorious future""ù and inning the Champion's League at first attempt. Surely there is someone out there willing to let these players do their preferred thing without necessarily taking the credit for being a tactical genius who tells them exactly how to go about their business? This approach to management really died decades ago so there must be plenty for Steidten to choose from."

Regarding potter. I was talking to one of the dads at my sons goalkeeper training and he was at the cup final with a fella who's son has the same agent as potter. Said he's going to be our next manager. Probably a complete load of bollocks but I would take him tomorrow over Moyes.

Dont know him but Kieran McKenna of Ipswich is getting good reviews Had to retire early as a player and was a youth coach at Tottenham & then Man U where Mourinho promoted him to be one of his first team assistants Manager at Ipswich since Dec 21 where he got them out of League 1 & now challenging for Championship promotion Id also take a look at Potter. Think we would be a better fit than Chelsea and he always seemed to run rings around Moyes for Brighton Either way I'd back Steidten to come up with the right candidate

"Quite an embarrassing post seeing how many managers have been mentioned on this single thread but still within a matter of posts you have the following""¶ Carrick O'Neill Howe Edwards (Luton) Hansi Flick Julen Lopetegui Van Nistelrooy Bielsa Marco Rose Sebastian Hoene√ü maybe even Eric Roy could be interesting with what he's doing at Brest. Add to that Potter, Fonseca and Corberan. I think that is sufficient to show there are better options out there""¶"

"Agree Doris would do better, but some names off the top of my head: - Hansi Flick - Julen Lopetegui - Van Nistelrooy - Bielsa - Marco Rose - Sebastian Hoeneß - maybe even Eric Roy could be interesting with what he's doing at Brest. But fundamentally there are a load of managers who would be more than delighted to continue the progression of one of the richest sides in the world in the best and richest league in the world. So it's not really a case of 'who' but more a case of 'who wouldn't'. Glasner has shown that by going from upper reaches of the Bundesliga to taking over at Crystal Palace! The very idea that Moyes is the best we can hope to aspire to is absolutely ridiculous. He's the last Dodo, and no one will aspire to him as their manager once we finally pluck up the balls (and by 'we' I mean 'Sullivan') to get rid and look to a more progressive future. With Moyes, the club is living in the dark ages. We get the second highest attendance in the richest league in the world. We have the 4th richest owners in the league collectively (let that sink in!), are in London, hold one of 3 European trophies, and are likely in the summer to have a transfer kitty of around 100 to 150m (all be it with the sale of our best player). We also have the second highest performing Youth setup in the country. Suggesting Moyes is the man to take the club forward into a glorious future couldn't be more laughable."

"Makes me laugh people still bang on about Sullivan doing things on the cheap, forgetting FACTS like when he made Pellegrini the 3rd highest paid manager in the league."
