I thought that about Heitinga too Sir Alf. He seems more tactically involved with Moyes than previously and is maybe helping him with subs too. Christ knows what that means though...

"MA 5.45, Newcastle's form indicates to me that notwithstanding injuries their squad is not of the overall standard to retain a CL spot in the league and a CL campaign. The problem for Eddie Howe is he raised his own bar last season, the fans expectations too but his filthy rich owners are constrained on buying improvements because of the rules."

", 5:24 Tue Mar 5 Re: Moyes Out I honestly think people struggle with the notion that some of us - literally just can't stand the style - irrespective of results. After two long , mainly boring years (won a cup - a cup we should have won anyway given budget etc - blah blah blah) I literally bore myself talking about it - it really is just black and white for me - nothing will change - we will win some - lose some - not win for 2 months - win three on the bounce - Cheese one or two results against top teams - lose heavily against those around us - But all it ultimately comes down to for me - is how we play - conceding the game in terms of possession and chances to inferior teams. Pragmatism has it's place for sure, but only against the very best."

xG 1 of the biggest loads of wank in the modern game. You're better off predicting a riot or the Lottery results than what's likely to happen in the game via stats.

xG 13th xGA 18th xPTS 14th (thanks to Alex V's obsession with xG) Wouldn't that suggest we're above our peer level and are pretty lucky to be where we are?

", What's any of that got to do with newly promoted Sheffield United being dicked at Home just like we also recently suffered? Regarding other Clubs like Newcastles form dipping, that is due to having a crippling injury list (and sudden loss of Tonali due to betting), something we haven't been victim of by comparison. We've actually had 1 of the best injury records this season to everyone else."

"I'll steer clear of replying to comments that are subjectively rather than being objectively based. Some on here are so full of hatred it seems to cloud out even a hint of reasonable analysis. We are at the top of a mid table bunch and you would expect that for a manager to achieve that it's a precursor that all of his squad are of upper mid table standard. Looking at the teams around and above us to me the outlier ( in terms of a squad significantly under or over performing to date ) is Aston Villa. I can also see that compared to last season both Newcastle and Brighton are not at that level. Are these teams underperforming or is this their realistic level given their squads? We have a manager whereby we are generally , over the season, playing at or about our peer group level. Last season we definitely underperformed but this was masked by the winning of a ""peer group""ù European level trophy. We can hope for a flash in the pan Leicester season or we can wish to be a top six club. Getting there though it's the expenditure that counts as least as much as the manager. The club by the very nature of thing will need to spend heavily just to maintain its present league status except or unless it gets in a manager to overperform in terms of squad level. Moyes will go at the end of the season I'd put up with a new manager who plays a better style but woe betide this newbie if he does not keep us, minimally, within our peer group."

"In a likely ""clutching at straws""ù mode, am I correct that in the last couple of games, Moyes has made Heitinga his tactical confident as opposed to Mckinley? Yeah just ""clutching at straws""ù aint I? :-) Sort of had this hope that Moyes has had, what for him would be, an epiphany and is asking for someone elee's input on subs or positional adjustments etc? Not saying they woukd be any better but might be that Heitinga has replaced Mckinley who replaced Nolan who replaced Paul Nevin who replaced Alan Irvine? The alternative scenario is that all those former tactical confidents or ""sounding boards""ù told Moyes ""you dont know what ur doing u old dinosaur""ù ? ;-)"

"The problem with all of this is, of course, football is often discussed in extremes. So, as soon as we win a few games, people who support Moyes tell the ones that don't that they are wrong and he has to stay. We lose a few games and the ones that don't support Moyes tell the ones that do that they are wrong and he has to go. The press look on from afar. And so they make a lot of noise without seeing the detail or, of course, ignoring the detail. And, this issue is, for me, all about the detail. Results aside, I don't like Moyes. I think he's generally a bit of a cսnt if I'm being honest. I'm sick of his excuses and his constant attempts at diverting eyes away. Sick of him harping back to the euro win and using West Ham's chequered past as a way of telling the fans to be grateful. Bored of his tactics, bored of his methods and philosophy. Get frustrated with his inability to sign a striker, how long he takes to decide on buying players and how selective he is. Frustrated with him not dropping favourites and general mis-treatment of certain players. Annoyed with how little investment he gives to the youth set up and ignores those players. Concerned about where we are heading under him and what our future looks like with him. Angry at the opportunities we have had under Moyes to be a lot better than we are. Those are the details. And Jeff Stelling, Jim White and all the other fucking cronies that tell us to be grateful can go and fuck themselves. I couldn't give a flying fuck if Moyes won every game from now to eternity. I can't stand the cսnt and i want him gone. End of."

"Listening just now to Sheffield United fans on TS and quite rightly they all call last night's 6-0 thrashing diabolical and Wilder needs sacking for that alone which Jordan also agreed he should go. Then when I think about how we mimicked the same disgusting gutless performance, to go along with all the other thrashings we've had this season, it really does anger me when you consider all the resources we have by comparison. A decade back in the big time, new fuck off stadium, money coming out of our ears, recent european Cup Winners etc compared to the blades modest lot. A couple of very winnable results and good performances against relegation candidates doesn't change a thing when all is considered."

I'd love to see him get the Celtic job. Imagine trying to let St Mirren and Livingstone have all the ball to try and win in the last 10 minutes!

"That's all many of us have been crying out for, entertaining Football without obsessing about the defence at the expense of quality attacking Football. Like I've said all along, we have some seriously good Footballers at the Club, if only they are allowed to express themselves more and the last 2 games have proved that. Although I will say thank fuck for the MotM heroics from Areola for keeping us in the game 1st half. Dread to think how the game would have panned out had he had an off day.. No reason why we can't take that confidence into the Europa games versus Frieburg and take it to them. They won't want to face us playing like that."

Martin Samuel in the Times today seems to think that Moyes fancies managing Celtic. His reasoning being that if Rangers win the league and Roger's comments to a female reporter might get him the sack. Can see it appealing to Moyse with it being a two horse race to win trophies and getting into Europe.

Ron Eff 2:23 Sun Mar 3 I said it proved he hasn't lost the dressing room which I think is valid given the fast start against Brentford and fighting to come from behind against Everton.
