"Something to ponder for anyone who thinks we weren't allowed to even attempt to engage in that game last night. Leverkusen were in a relegation battle last season until Alonso took over. He had half a season, turned them around, and got them into Europe. In the summer, they spent £80mil (highest transfer £23mil), however they sold one of their best players last season to Aston Villa for £55mil. Very modest, on a par with someone like Bournemouth. Yet we had to go into a game against them quaking in our fucking boots? If a manager can have that much effect on a side, why on earth and we sticking with the fucking dinosaur who thinks it's illegal to try and win games of football against decent teams? Should we not aim to do what average Leverkusen have done? Or should we give Moyes another HALF A BILLION quid to be cowards?"

"We've spent 500 million to play like a non league team against a Premier league side in the fa Cup. Oooh look how good they are. Nope, they've got Granit fucking Xhaka in their team. Embarrassing, cowardly shit."

"Can't quite believe that there are fans who accept that last night, I get they are a good side and obviously streets ahead of us but I refuse to ever accept just surrendering like that, you simply don't win games of football playing like that, maybe once in 20 you might fluke it. Seasons end can't come quick enough."

Cant believe most havent or wont soon come to the conclusion that many have held for a long time that his race is run. Alonso took over a lower German league side and without spending anywhere near what we have has in 2 seasons produced a positive winning team that has an identity and a purpose. Last night saw us cowering in our box with a reduced squad with no ambition to try and play football and match an opponent. We could be and should be better than this If Man City want to buy out Paqueta for £85m we have a head start for a new manager together with Steiden to rebuild into a football team. I am sure many of our players would respond to being asked to get on the front foot and PLAY

"Whoever replaces him has got a big job on their hands. The squad has no depth whatsoever and will have to learn a different approach to the game. Paqueta is likely leaving so will need replacing, maybe we can finally find a centre forward who can provide and option to Antonio, we need a right back, a centre back who can actually defend properly, and someone to play wide left. There should be plenty of dough to spend though."

"the Fat lady hasn't finished singing just yet Sir Alf? We need to be out of the Europa and down a few spots from losing a few games in the PL before we get to 70/30 or even more wanting him replaced, just look at the Moyes in/out thread, you couldn't say one way or another based on that? Granted it may have skewed a bit to the out side after last nights game! I'm staying optimistic we can get something, but then i pretty much always are, as what's the point of supporting the team if you think its lost cause? Still think he will go in the summer irrespective of what the rest of the season brings."

"Wonder what the maiority fan view is or will be if we dont make Europe which seems to be where we are headed ( injuries, bookings , remaining fixture lists)? We are told by the media, almost exclusively Moyes supporters, that the fan base is split and that Moyes leaving is a risk we would be best to avoid etc. The split is not qualified but the language or tone gives tge impression its 50:50 but I reckon its going to be or is already at least 60:40 or even 70:30 in favour of a change? His race is run but will take the next 2 weeks to become apparent to some. Just my opinion of course :-)"

"Sydney. The irony being Cottee wouldn't even get near a Moyes first 11am. In fact he would struggle to get in most sides these days, not that gd'gp short of quality but as a lone striker and by his own admission his lack of work rate wouldn't help. They don't do striker partnerships any more. Frank Mac would probably do the job!"

"Tony Cottee on TS today defending Moyes? who would have thought, says he should of got a 4-year contract after winning the Conference! Does however get the supporters frustration at the style of play at times. Not saying i agree or disagree, just thought it was interesting from an ex-player who is obviously passionate about West Ham, goes to games and knows his stuff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QcQIKdGskc"

"He wins the Europa and qualifies for the Champions League, of course he should be given a new contract. Sure, I hate his quality of football and think he is wasting a lot of attacking talent in recent times but that would be a hell of an achievement and wouldn't begrudge him a new contract because of it."

"Moyes's latest gem on the OS... We tried to find ways, but it took until the second half to get anything like enough. I've got to praise the players, and I've got to praise the three boys who came on as sub today. Ben, Micky, Cressy were all fantastic today and they made a big improvement on the team. If the players who are in the team think they're there and that's them, they're not. If they don't play well they won't be playing. They need to [keep their] standards high and certainly in the second half things got better. Well its taken him the best part of 18 months to hook Soucek yet everyone else has now been warned not to rest on their laurels.. and as for Johnson if every time he plays he does ok why has he not been given an appropriate contract.... ffs"

"Next 2-3 weeks will decide whether he even has a chance of staying. Winning the Europa would seem unlikely but its a cup competition and unexpected results happen. League position of 8th makes the conference. If he could see that sometimes it pays to drop or sub players ( the squad idea ) it can be effective. But he's reactive. Always reverts to fear based approach as the default and then usually leaves it too late when its ibvious changes need to be made. Playing players out of position is another major flaw he has. But play like we did 2nd half when he or someone in his coaching team addressed the weaknesses ( Paqueta out of position, Bowen ineffective as central forward and the Czech lads struggling to either get in the game or being targeted) and fans might be a bit more patient and see hope for progression in the way we play. Why ? Because the low block, double pivot , Moyesball based on countering and staying in shape deep will only get you so far. Having won a cup, had european football for a few years, fans want that to continue and to see a way to ""kick on""ù. Im sure many dont see that possibility based on what we have been spending? At best we have plateaued in the league and its likely the Conference cup is the best we can hope for with Moyes. As mentioned, lets see how the next 3 weeks go but unless Euro qualification is achieved his race is run imo"

"fiddler on the roof, fuck off from an article yesterday....... ""Kehrer is making an impact on the pitch too. Having started just three games for West Ham prior to his departure in January, he has already started 12 times for Monaco. ""I am very happy to have moved in the winter and discovered a style of football that corresponds with my qualities,""ù he says. ""At West Ham, there were lots of phases of play where you had to defend in a low block and it was about tempting teams in and attacking on the counter, or with set pieces, or more individual actions. Defending in a low block isn't necessarily what corresponds with my qualities because I have physical qualities, like speed, and also technical abilities with the ball, which I had less of a chance to show given the style of play.""ù Having returned to the centre of defence at Monaco, Kehrer has rediscovered his form and fitness, and he is impressing his new manager. ""His performances are improving,""ù said Adi H√ºtter last week. ""He can play more than one position. He's a good communicator. And it is good for me that he speaks German also. We're really happy with his performances.""ù"
