Forgot to mention, an indicator for read/unread posts is also shown to the left of the logo, so actually it's shown twice. As you say not a biggie and of course it will take time to perfect, but so far a very good job and it's beginning to feel more like WHO each day.
Done.

It's not nasty enough at the moment though, everyone is getting on too well and being cringingly nice to each other. Very unsettling.
I also need a full on Manuel attack on a gentle post by an innocent bystander.
To be fair this forum started going bent a couple of years ago, politics aside, and the joyo/goose/oxsaw love triangle, there hasn't been too many 'wars' on here in recent years, but agree it's completely bent on here now, may as well be on KUMB. Hopefully that will change soon you cսnt.

Re: New WHO | Site Feedback
We were mindful that not editing/deleting posts was a 'thing' on WHO,but also there are times when it makes sense almost immediately after posting. So yes it's currently time limited to about 10 mins after posting (I'd have to check what the time limit is exactly). We can of course change it if it's important to.
Re the unread indicator...stuff like this we're looking into...it's default behaviour of the software, so we have to find a way to 'hack' it to turn it off as well as keep it off when updates come out. It's on the list to review, but not been top priority yet (given we are doing what we can around family and day jobs etc).
As you'll have seen today, small incremental improvements are happening on a daily basis (like moving the Amazon search on desktop but leaving it where it was on mobile). All these things take time and some level of experimentation.

By the way, good work moving the amazon thing down the right side.
Regarding editing/deleting posts, is there a time limit to do this? Just that I noticed I couldn't edit a post I hadn't long put up?

Re: New WHO | Site Feedback
Why is it necessary to have that smallish blue coloured thingy to the right of the thread logo, before the thread title, indicating that the last post on that thread hasn't been read? Nobody cares about that, it's just more clutter and also means the threads going down the page are not even, in terms of the first letter of the thread title?

Same way. There are page numbers at the top and bottom of the list of Subjects (small numerical boxes top right and bottom right).

Just a quickie, will we get a little flashing gold envelope when we get a private message? I wouldn't want to miss any cunting in the bastard from the usual suspects.....
You get a symbol like this appear up by your name top right (Private Messages and then the number of unread messages). Not sure how to make it gold and flashy though:

Have today hidden the date a thread started from the list of threads (we didn't have that before) as well as remove the 'page' icons (most go straight to the latest post anyway, so jumping pages at the point of thread selection just clutters the screen.
Good shout. No need to display how many pages on each thread on the main page, as it tells you that still when clicking on a thread.

We're continuing to try and 'clean up' the UI.

If there are ideas for other de-cluttering or things ot make it 'easier' to use, please keep adding them and we'll do as many as we can.

A question. Do you have plans to advertise/ market the new site on social media/ search engines etc.?
If not, then the whole effort in getting it set up seems as though it will have been a waste of time as it's even more dead on this site compared to the old site.Yes. The plan is to start trying to grow the community again.
That's great to read. Would be excellent if you can get the community going again through a marketing push as, let's face it, the old WHO had become moribund for quite some time.

At the moment the photo banner is what it is (we took some of the old photos, some new ones, and combined them to make a new static banner, but I like the idea of having it not be static).
The 'likes' thing is an interesting one...does extending it potentially reduce post volumes/interaction as its easier just to hit the 'hate' button that call someone a cսnt? Maybe we'll stick a thread up of ideas for 'improvements' and we'll see which ones people 'like' the most. The new platform does at least give us scope to extend the features that are available though.Hmmm I don't get any photos on the Banner just white space - Ah just checked on my phone and I can se the logo photos etc - must be my work laptop stopping it its using Edge... still would be nice if it scrolled too
Found the issue. Should start to see it in the next few hours (might have to press 'ctrl-F5' to make your page refresh).
Sorted Ctrl F5 did the tick after whatever you did..... glad I could help in some very small way!
