Matterface and Dixon are enormous twats. Saying Kane has ‘the midas touch’ and that Alexander-Arnold is nearly always accurate with his crosses (after watching him wang loads of wayward passes)

Absolute clowns getting paid for their insights.

That'll piss a few off.
Kane has played a lot better tonight and scores a great goal.
Another unpopular opinion is TAA has played some lovely passes, he's much more suited to RB can play the quarterback role.

Gomez looks shorter than 5.5. One of the shortest if not the shortest players I've seen.

Kane is waiting for the ball to be laid on a silver platter for him. Some great balls played in but he is not attacking it, just standing lazily waiting for the ball to land at his feet.

Manuel » 10 Sep 2024 14:51'Lineker, Shearer, Owen and Rooney all bowed out of the international arena at respectable ages'

Rooney? Do me a favour. He went on at least 3 years too long.

Agree that pace is not so much a problem if the tactics and set up are in place to compensate for it Stubbo. But supposedly Gordon was brought in to be just that and allow Kane to be as effective as he was at Spurs with Son and co?

Maybe at 31/32 he will be “reborn” under the new manager / coach but I will be surprised if its not the same old story of Kane getting goals ( incl the substancial penalty count ) in qualifiers only to go missing at the WC in 2026 when he’ll be getting close to 34. Because he making it clear he “expects” to be playing as the lead man then.

We got to use a Watkins, Bowen or other more mobile, channel running option far more and starting games or nothing will change and we will fall short. That said, a creative passer / ball playing man in midfield needed too.

Oh on the subject of Bowen, we might want him to start but with Fullkrug now out, is the curse about to strike and Bowen picks up a knock tonight? Would be typical and see all our hopes restimg on Danny Ings against Fulham, Chelsea and upcoming fixtures :-(

Kane - age 31

Ages they played their last England match - Lineker 32, Shearer 30, Owen 29, Rooney 33. Owen never bowed out, as such, just didn't get picked any more as he turned into a sick note.

Kane has got a similar record to Haaland when it comes to big games.

Both absolute ghosts when it really matters.

I don't really think it's about pace...and entirely about the team setup and what the wide players do.

With Kane leading the line, the wide players need to run beyond him in behind so he can spread the ball to the flanks or in behind the fullback, and then turn and move to the penalty spot. Basically what he did at Spurs for years with the likes of Son, Lennon, etc out wide.

Trouble is with our inverted, turn in and stand up wide players, they all end up in the number 10 position.

Harry should be scoring hat tricks against these tier two minnow counties. That said it would be a great opportunity to develop younger strikers.
