The BBC just reported that the maximum sentence is up to 10 years, so I'm not sure where you got 12 months from.

BBC: "...while the maximum sentence is 10 years, for the category of offending - making of indecent images - the range is up to three years. The significant aggravating factor is that the images were moving images".

I think the Mags can only give a sentence of so much for an offence, before having to send it to a crown court for a Judge to deal with.

Because of his high status, his fame, his wealth and the 'contrition' he has shown (after getting caught, charged and convicted, that is).

Since when has that mattered in the UK? I mean about his wealth/fame. Bigger people that him have got bird. Anyway, I just read that if Edwards does get sentenced to prison, the maximum he could get from the magistrates' court is 12 months, so a load of bollocks anyway.

On a human level, somewhere inside me there is a little bit of sympathy for these type of people as they truly can't help it.

That said and overall, kids have to protected and I think these type of people should be put to sleep in a humane way.
