Any memorable comments from them ?

I just read that President Jimmy Carter is 100 today

No England footballer has ever reached 100 (out of 1,285 total)

My sister lived in a little village near Wantage and her neighbour was born on December 31st 1899 - one of my father-in-laws neighbours was born on the 1st.January 1900 -when they were 95 we managed to get them together. They had missed the first world war one through having had bad pneumonia and the other flat feet.It was great sitting down for the afternoon and listening to their life stories - one ran a cigarette and sweet shop in the tunnel under Clapham Common station called Simpkins - his family owned the (what is now) travel sweet company, the other ran a grocers in rural Berkshire - they still did their bit in both wars - they kept in touch until one died aged 102 - the other followed 6 months later.
One of my Texan mates had a grandfather ,a civil war veteran who had lost his left leg at Gettysburg - he had a pal who had also lost his leg - happily his right one. They both lived past 100 and would meet in Galveston , buy a pair of new shoes and get pissed together

Yep, my Nan passed away at 100 years and 2 months. So many great conversations with her back in the day and distinctly remember her saying she had a wonderful life and would just like to lame it to 100.

With the ailments and illnesses I have I'll be lucky to make 65!

Yes years ago when I worked in insurance. One of my customers was 101 and lived with her toy boy husband who was about 97. Had a cup of tea and stayed far to long as I was fascinated listening to what they had lived through. This was back in early 90s so they would have been born in 19th century and seen so much invention wise not to mention two world wars.
