Re: Zer Germans win.!
You're the only one that's risen to it really, though.
It probably says more about you, than it does about me, if you think everything I type is negative.
My last post that wasn't the one on this thread was positive:
Lee Trundle » 15 Oct 2024 17:01It's pretty much impossible for Ghana to qualify for the AFCON.
Excellent news. Means we have Kudus over Dec/Jan.

Blimey.
You "have a funny feeling this will all end badly" because we haven't hired an (inferior) English manager?
You do always opt for the negative take, can't remember the last time you posted anything positive about West Ham (or England). You just bounce around posting inane negativity and looking for a rise from certain posters.
I feel for your missus (assuming you have one), if this is how you are in real life.

I have a funny feeling this will all end badly.Since when has anyone's reign as England manager not ended badly? Only ones I can think of who finished on their own terms are Bobby Robson and Southgate. Even Alf Ramsay got the boot after a dismal failed World Cup qualifying campaign.
You've answered your own question there.

Yeah, obviously Trundle chooses the negative take.
Ultimately, Howe ain’t fit to lace Tuchel’s boots.

Another good thing about him is that he's had some proper basket-case jobs - Chelsea, PSG, Bayern Munich - to prepare for this. I'm optimistic.

Re: Zer Germans win.!
Don't mind this appointment, the FA could have made a worse decision.
I'm looking forward to his first team selection to see if he sets us up with players in their proper positions and doesn't try to cram as many number 10's in the starting line up as possible.
One plus from this appointment is it potentially leaves Man Utd with a headache for replacing Ten Hag.

Tuchel confirmed.

Relieved that Carsley failed his audition.

Re: Zer Germans win.!
What are you arguing against Shorty? Hoddles win record was one of the best of any England managers, much better than Venables. I'm not a fan of Hoddle either, just pointing out that Venables wasn't a great England manager.

Are you fucking sure? He was shit with his crap Christmas tree formation, that meant one of the greatest strikers we've ever had never got any decent service. He was forced into changing his tactics and even then came up short at Euro 96.
Glenn Hoddle had a much better record as manager.
People just think he was good because we played so well against the Dutch and beat Scotland.

Thankfully that song is never sung inside stadiums and hasn't been for years - just occasionally in pubs.

More embarrassing than using the term "Gammons"?

Re: Zer Germans win.!
Venables was the last decent English manager.Since then it’s been piss poor. We just don’t make them over here. The Waistcoat unbelievably lucked out when it came too competition draws. And always got rumbled the moment we came up against an opponent smarter than Columbia. I hope Herr Tommy well.
Re: Zer Germans win.!
I’m ok with this appointment. Of course we would all prefer an English manager but in the absence of any good available ones, go with the best available manager regardless of where he’s from. Even Germany if it improves us.
The way I see it, Southgate could easily have won us at least two major trophies but he got us to the final hurdle numerous times and the next bloke just needs to be a bit more daring and tactically gifted to reach that one last step to win it - Tuchel has this over Southgate, he’s more current and relevant and with the squad we have, and just a little more courage and nous required, he seems the right man at this time.
